Chapter 1 - The Prophecy

"It will begin soon in Antarctica," said the woman, who was sitting on a raised platform with her eyes closed.

Her heart began to beat faster.

"He will bless us, but he will also bring disaster," she said, speaking faster and faster. "The prophecies will come true. A storm is coming."

She suddenly fell silent, and with each word her voice became deeper and more timeless.

"The world will be as you have never known it. You will be sick if you do not pay attention. People will unite and also separate."

Now she spoke demandingly, with the same voice:

"Be warned. Guard your tongue, your mind, and your actions."

Once again, she fell silent.

"Who will do this?" asked a young man with long, brown curly hair. Half of his hair was pulled back and loosely tied, so that individual strands came loose again.

"One in white. I couldn't see any more clearly than that," replied the woman in colorful robes, in which pink was interwoven with earthy colors.

"Can you tell me more about what you saw?" asked the young man with a silver wolf medallion.

The woman remained silent.

"Am I not allowed to know?" he asked curiously.

The woman nodded and replied, "They say you're not ready yet."

The boy felt a chill without getting goose bumps.

"I understand..." he said with a heavy breath and fell silent.

"Is there anything else you can tell me?" asked the brown-haired boy.

The shaman-like woman remained silent.

"You will suffer," she said, her eyes still closed. "You will find your way back to the old ways and thus..."

The young man remained calm in his posture and spirit and said nothing.

The shaman continued:

"And thus you will help living beings of all kinds."

She paused briefly, her expression becoming confused.

"You carry a sword on your back and ride a horse?"

She was slightly confused, but continued:

"Your eyes radiate energy like the sun radiates light. You must be careful, very careful. Because soon everyone will want to use you like a mercenary."

The young man fell silent. The woman also fell silent until she finally asked:

"What is your name, boy?"

The young man paused briefly and replied:

"Jamie. My name is Jamie."

The woman smiled reassuringly.

"That suits you."

Jamie smiled.

"Thank you for sharing this wisdom with me."

The woman laughed.

"Oh, don't mention it, boy. Come back again."

He replied with a smile:

"I'd love to—and thank you very much. Have a nice evening."

"You too. And don't forget: pay attention to what you do and act with caution."

The young man nodded and smiled as he walked out, saying:

"I will. Don't worry."

He reached his home at 9 p.m., which is why the church bells next door rang nine times. But the young man didn't notice them.

He was deep in thought, thinking:

Suffering? Exploitation... Mercenaries? Why is all this happening? Does it have something to do with the man in white from Antarctica?

As he thought this, he unlocked the garden gate and reached the apartment. When the door opened, he briefly forgot his thoughts and was glad to be home.

He thought he should tell his mother about the prophecy, as he and she are strongly connected to the spiritual realm.

He opened the living room door and found his mother there. He greeted her:

"Hi, Mom, I happened to visit a shaman earlier. I was already on my way home, but I found the sign for her shop interesting. She offered to take a look into the future. What came out of it is very interesting."

His mother, a seemingly young woman who was already in her forties, replied:

"Jamie, stay calm," she said with a smile, almost laughing at Jamie's sudden behavior, which was unusual for him.

Jamie smiled slightly and continued:

"Something will begin in the Arctic, triggered by a man in white who will bring both blessings and misfortune through his actions. This will bring new diseases and change the world from the ground up."

He took a deep breath and continued:

"Then I asked the shaman if she could tell me anything else. She proceeded to describe my future. She said that I would suffer and find my way back to old ways, and that I would help all kinds of living creatures."

He took a deep breath and continued, "I also carry a sword on my back and ride a horse. She also said that my eyes would shine with energy like the sun. But she also warned me that, according to her, many would want to exploit me like a mercenary."

Jamie's body began to shake violently, even though he wasn't cold. He breathed heavily, because deep down he knew that what he had just said was true.

Both were silent for a moment.

Then his mother spoke:

"That's interesting. I also saw you in the future with a sword. But there, the sword was at your hip."

"That's right," said the young man.

"The shaman's prophecy could also be linked to Alois Irmaier's prophecy," said the seemingly young woman.

Then she asked:

"Have you left anything out?"

"As far as I remember, she said something like, 'The prophecies will come true, and a storm is coming,' or something like that," Jamie replied.

His mother looked shocked and said:

"You almost left out something important. Do you understand how important that is?"

"Sort of," he replied.

"That means that the prophecies—for example, those of Alois Irmaier—will definitely come true," his mother explained to him.

"Does that mean it's good that we're preparing for World War III? Did she mean war as a storm that is brewing?"

"Perhaps. But the point is that probably over fifty percent of the population will die, at least if other prophecies also come true," said the young-looking woman.

The young man remained exceptionally calm and became lost in deep thought. As he thought, he spoke quietly, uttering confused words that made little sense when taken together.

Now his mother spoke:

"Jamie, maybe you should go to bed. It's late, and you must be exhausted after sword training."

He nodded and said,

"Good night, Mom. Sleep well."

He left the living room and went to bed.
