"What?!"
Hearing that shout, Chloe's eyes widened. She cast one last glance at the plume of black smoke, narrowing her eyes, but she still couldn't see clearly.
Without any warning, a violent jolt shook her body as Helena, standing beside her, grabbed her wrist tightly and dragged her away from their patrol route.
"S-Senior, did you really see a horde?!"
"I have a skill called Eagle Eye that prompts me to see far away into the distance."
Helena cut her off sharply. The tension in her voice rose, and the grip on Chloe's wrist tightened so strongly it felt as though it pierced straight through her armor suit.
Chloe took a short breath, finally grasping the danger threatening her and everyone at the excavation site.
Yet there was one thing she found deeply regrettable.
She had only been patrolling for a few seconds, mere seconds, before the threat appeared, blocking her plans to enact revenge on her former teammates.
