Chapter 1 - INTRODUCING JAY & KAY

There is a sacred temple of Lord Siva situated deep inside the forests of wayanad, in Kerala (South India).

People say that those who come and pray there can live their entire life happily with the one they love, they also say that since the main deity of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is in the temple, it is a temple for lovers.

(Lord Siva and Goddess Parvati are well known for their undying love for each other.)

But there was only one problem with that temple.Since it was located in a deep forest, the number of people that visit the temple was very low.

Every Sunday, the priest of that temple would offer a special type of prasad to the visitors who came there.

(Prasad is a special type of offering that is given to the god first and is later distributed among believers. It may contain flowers, fruits, sandalwood, etc...)

The locals believed that those who received that special kind of prasad would have their wishes fulfilled and be blessed by the lord himself .

Although the number of people who usually come there is small, there are usually more visitors on Sundays.

Therefore, only those who arrive first will receive this special Prasad. Because the priest makes only a very small amount of this precious Prasad.

Now that we have learned about the temple, the offerings, the prasad and the visitors who come there, shall we turn our attention to our protagonists.

Two young men of the same age, born and raised in the same neighborhood, our beloved Jay and Kay.

Even though they were born and raised in the same neighborhood both of them had opposite experinces and vision of the society.

This was because Kay was a boy born into a large and wealthy family, while Jay was a boy born into a poor, impoverished family.

Kay's family always taught him to stay away from Jay.

Similarly, Jay's family viewed Kay's wealthy family with envy and hatred.

In fact we can say that Jay and Kay's life are pretty similar, the only difference is that Jay's life is the poverty edition compared to Kay's.

Thus this is the story of two young men who grew up with hostility from a young age.

Let that all be there. Now, don't you guys want to know how these two are connected to this temple.

well, neither of them are particularly superstitious, but they did have a small belief in the presence of God.

That's why they both come to this temple on Sundays to pray to the gods.

And so, in the lives of these two young men, who have been harboring enmity for years, something suddenly happens as if God himself has appeared.

Thus in the span of one day, they suddenly turn from enemies to lovers.

Yes, that's right. And so, despite all the efforts of their families and locals to separate them, they go from enemies to lovers without even realizing it.

Whether it's a misunderstanding or their fate, we can believe that something like this that took place in the presence of God was done by God himself.

Well, maybe that could be possible...
