Gideon after expressing his gratitude to Nila, left the Adventures Association with a slight smile on his face as he currently has 457 dallans in his account after getting the compensation and commission for the task.
He did not worry thinking about how he was treated by the vice manager.
He got 100 dallans as compensation and 40 dallans for killing 4 Tier-1, level-1 Bronze Teeth Rats since he wanted to get the commission only for the monsters that he killed, as per the task commission which brought his total to the highest he ever had in the past 6 months after purchasing Jaice, who was still sitting on his left shoulder looking around as if she had nothing to do with what happened inside the Adventures Association.
Even though he was happy, he still had a tiny bit of worry on his mind about how his foster parents would react when they come to know that he had to face monsters that were 2 levels higher than him in a level-1 task. He was worried if they would negate the approval they had given for him to take on those tasks.
He reached home by 02:50 PM, went directly to the bathroom and washed himself off the dirt and the little blood that splattered on him during the fight before falling on the bed to take a short nap before Henry and Sienna come back from the farm that evening.
He woke up by 06:00 PM disturbed by the rummaging sound he heard from the living room. Squinting his eyes, he sat on his bed for a few seconds to clear his foggy mind that was still in a dizzy state and went to the living room to see why there was so much noise.
When he came out, he was surprised to see Nila sitting on the sofa with Raam next to her while Sienna looking angrily at them ready to pounce at them like a ferocious tigress only to be restrained by Henry who was holding her back as much as he could.
He immediately realized what was happening. Nila and Raam had come to the house and explained the 'slight' mishap that had happened while executing the level-1 task.
Gideon commended Henry's composure even after knowing the danger his foster son had gone through and holding his wife back from attacking the people who had personally come to apologize for it.
Soon Gideon joined Nila and Raam explaining that it was not their mistake and they should not be angry at them as they had done their best to prevent these types of mishaps to happen and that it is not foolproof to prevent it 100% and it only happens to very rare and unlucky team of adventurers.
Sienna calmed down slightly, seeing Gideon joining in with Nila and Raam and defending them for what happened in the morning after Nila promised that she will always triple check the tasks Gideon takes before she approves it after this and will have Raam to join him when going out to complete the tasks which came in a surprise to Gideon and his foster parents.
Sending a Tier-2, level-5 employee to protect a Tier-1, level-1 adventurer is completely unheard of and has never happened as far as they know, unless the adventurer is from a wealthy family.
But Henry and Sienna agreed to it immediately which made Gideon get more worried as he will not have the freedom to fight the monsters as he preferred, like a training with Raam overlooking him. But he had to reluctantly agree to this arrangement or he would not be allowed to go on another task if he didn't agree to it.
After having a long boring discussion on the future tasks he can take, Nila and Raam left around 08:00 PM after having dinner with them. Only then Gideon sighed in relief as he didn't have to keep on hearing advice and precautions he had to take on every other task he may take in the future.
Their agreement is simple. Whenever Gideon goes to the Adventures Association to get a task, Raam will be notified to accompany him till he completes the task and gets the commission for the task after submitting the proof. He will not interfere in the battles unless a monster approaches him that is 2 levels higher than him during the task.
Gideon only hoped Raam would not interfere even then so it would help him to gain more experience in fighting higher level monsters and correct the errors in his fighting techniques.
The next day, he didn't go to the Adventures Association as he couldn't take on tasks and keep fighting daily. Anyone would need a little rest after fighting wild monsters, even if they are not overwhelmed by their power or numbers.
He decided to go to the market to sell the 4 bronze teeth he took from the rats he killed yesterday. Even though they are from Tier-1, level-1 Bronze Teeth monsters, it would fetch him 20 dallans that he could add to his savings to get better weapons and armors in the future.
He searched his cloth rack for his armor and was surprised to see it was missing. Sienna washed it yesterday after she came home from the farm, but she would always fold it and keep it in the rack after it dried, but looks like she forgot about it today.
Gideon didn't mind it, he just wanted to check if it was in good condition to wear it for the next task or if it should be repaired before it can be worn again. He would have to wait for another day to do it as he was not sure where Sienna had kept his armor as he searched the entire house to find it nowhere.
'Maybe, she hid the armor so I would not go out to take a task today?' Gideon thought for a second and he subconsciously accepted that it could be the real intention of her in hiding his armor.
After taking a bath and having his breakfast, he went to the market to find a blacksmith shop to sell the bronze teeth. He already sent Jaice out to stretch her wings as she was getting bored sitting inside the home all day after going out to fight monsters when completing the tasks he took.
He was not sure where she would go, but kept checking her feelings once every few minutes through their bond to make sure she was not in any danger. He only felt excitement and happiness every time he checked and felt happy for her.
When he set foot out of the house, Jaice flew back and sat on her usual spot on his left shoulder which made him think 'Was she keeping an eye on me to get back as soon as I get out?' But he didn't care about it as long as she was safe and happy.
He went to the market and when he was looking for a shop, he found Henry standing at the front desk of a blacksmith shop talking seriously to the person behind the desk gesturing at something, in a way which he had never seen him before.
He looked at the board of the shop which said 'Yours Truly Blacksmith' which made him chuckle thinking how someone could name a shop like that?
Wondering what he was talking about, Gideon entered the blacksmith shop only to see Henry stop talking as soon as he entered hiding something behind him, but Gideon already saw that it was his armor.
"Why is my armor here when it didn't get damaged?" Gideon asked which made Henry shake his head in response.
"He wanted to add a few iron alloys to the armor to make it more durable and protect you from getting injured." The person behind the shop reception desk said before Henry to respond to the question.
"We just want you to be safe, son. Nothing more." Henry said, staring daggers at the receptionist as if he would punch him if Gideon was not standing at the doorstep.
"What are you doing here, son? Aren't you supposed to be at home, taking rest?" Henry asked to which Gideon showed him the 4 bronze teeth he came to sell saying "I came to find a place to sell the harvest I got yesterday."
"You should have told me that yesterday. This is the best shop in the village to sell and buy weapons, armors, repair and enhance them. This is Mr. Samsung, the owner and my good friend." Henry said with a smile to Gideon.
"This is Gideon, my son whom you have never met before." Henry continued the introduction by introducing Gideon to Samsung.
Gideon looked at the bulky man with light brown skin and average height, only a little shorter than Henry and sensed he was at Tier-2, level-2, and looked behind him and saw a Fire Salamander that was staring at him and his Breeze Crow tilting its head to right and left while the Salamander sticking its tongue out now and then, nodding the head.
"Hello Gideon! You will get a 10% discount whenever you come to buy anything and 10% extra for selling anything here kid." Samsung said with a smile.
