Chapter 83 - Gains

Elion lounged in his room with his status window hovering before him, translucent and softly glowing.

A few days had passed since his risky public session with the Bea in the classroom, and despite her open invitation to have sex with her regularly, he still had not visited her office yet.

It was not that he was deliberately passing up free points, far from it. He simply already had his hands full lavishing attention on Aria and Mira.

Especially Mira.

He rarely spent the night in his own bed.

Well… with his godly stamina, he could technically squeeze in a visit to the nurse after his sessions with the two of them. But really, cut a man some slack.

Mira rarely let go of his dick before the morning sun filtered through the curtains. It was like she literally wanted to suck him dry.

Besides, right now, he had other priorities.

His eyes skimmed over the familiar numbers, a grin slowly tugging at his lips.

He had accumulated a ridiculous amount of system points, and his level still sat at twenty-nine.

Just one more level, and he would become the only student in his year to reach the Adept stage.

Still, the system had warned him about forcefully advancing to the next stage in such a short time and without being physically prepared.

And he was waiting for the next academy status update before advancing, or the suspicions would be too much for him to handle.

So, why was he staring at his status so intently?

Because he finally had enough points to unlock more access to the system store.

Finally.

New items had appeared. Actual, interesting items. The kind that made restraint difficult. He could barely suppress the grin threatening to split his face.

On another note, it was astonishing how quickly public opinion could change.

Everyone, and he meant everyone, had suddenly begun sucking up to him. It was annoying enough that he usually brushed them off without ceremony.

Well, not the ladies, definitely not the lovely ladies. Even then, he kept them at arm's length, mostly thanks to Aria's watchful presence.

He had also sparred with Tessa several more times in combat class. The scantily clad, tanned girl was a complete combat maniac, and to his own quiet pride, he could now keep up with her.

Which was, frankly, embarrassing.

His level was, after all, much higher than hers.

In terms of raw strength, he outmatched her easily, but her technique was on another level entirely.

Apparently, she was the daughter of a southern noble, whose family specialized in martial combat techniques; her entire lineage was renowned for monstrous strength and their refined technique.

She had casually mentioned her lineage while sparring with him. Not everyone made an effort to make known their noble origins, and abuse them like William.

Besides, they hadn't been in the academy for long, so most people were not aware of her noble birth.

Considering that usually, either the very talented or the very well-connected could make it into the academy, even the worst of students probably had links to a noble barony or something like that.

That reminded him of Isolde.

In fact, he suspected that Isolde could be from elven nobility, considering that her status said she was a high elf, and her two elements, the other of which she was hiding with her beautiful earrings.

Such an item would be useful for him as well. He was looking for something similar in his system store.

But that was not why he just thought of her specifically. She had been acting...weird lately.

Normally, she made subtle efforts to talk to him. Or at least steal the occasional glance.

But for the past three days, she had been avoiding him like the plague. The moment their eyes met, she would flush bright red, look away, and abruptly change her walking path.

It was baffling.

Had he offended her somehow?

No… he knew that reaction. The deep blush whenever their eyes met. He had seen it lots of times in the past few weeks.

Was it a crush?

But that did not explain why it had started so suddenly. He had not even used the Ink of Yearning on her yet. He intended to, eventually, but he had not done anything to her at the moment.

So why was she reacting like that?

Elion sighed.

Still, it was afternoon now, just after morning classes, and he had an appointment to keep. He needed to report to the Disciplinary Committee office before lunch ended.

Yes.

He was officially beginning his duties as a DC officer.

He had not told Aria or Mira about that yet. The thought of their reactions made him smile. It would definitely be entertaining.

Another strange thing was the system itself. Aside from its basic functions, the melodic female voice had gone oddly quiet.

No snarky remarks. No commentary. Just silence.

His gaze dropped back to the floating panel.

Yes.

He had placed the Harem Seal on Mira a few days ago, acquiring her class and skills in the process.

Bit by bit, he was growing stronger.

Three classes alone were already unheard of.

Add a gold-grade talent on top of that, and his future was practically guaranteed. The academy's monthly status update was only days away.

Today was Tuesday. The database would be refreshed on Friday.

He was running out of time.

He had no intention of hiding his improved stats, but the multiple classes… that would be problematic...Very problematic.

Which was why he was staring into the system store now.

He needed an item.

Something that could conceal his additional classes.

And he intended to find it.

"Right," he murmured. "Let's see what you've got."

"System store," he said quietly.

[Available Points: 9750]

[Access Tier: Basic Store functions]

Rows upon rows of items unfolded before him, arranged not by category alone, but by concept.

Weapons did not simply sit under "Weapons"—they were grouped by intent: Destruction, Control, Annihilation, Correction, Denial.

Elion's lips twitched.

"Still overdramatic," he noted.

His attention drifted to the first cluster.

[Item: Void-Thread Dagger]

[Cost: 10 000 Points]

[Description: A dagger forged from condensed spatial discontinuity. Ignores conventional durability.]

[Note: Causes localized reality fraying.]

Elion tilted his head.

"Messy," he decided. "Good for assassins. Bad for infrastructure."

He waved it aside.

[Item: Chrono-Lattice Bracer]

[Cost: 18600 Points]

[Description: Allows micro-rewinds of the wearer's personal timeline (≤0.7 seconds).]

[Limitations: High cognitive strain. Cooldown enforced by backlash.]

"…Interesting," Elion admitted.

He imagined the application. Then he looked at the price.

"Too expensive," he concluded. But it was understandable, given the ridiculous effect.

He passed.

[Item: Soul-Binding Chain]

[Cost: 4100 Points]

[Description: Restraint artifact capable of anchoring living beings, even non-corporeal entities.]

[Warning: Ethical violation in twelve recognized civilizations.]

Elion raised an eyebrow.

"Twelve? What does civilizations refer to? Other worlds?" he mused, but the reply never came. "System?"

Silence.

"How odd..."

Still, he dismissed the thought. Making assumptions when he was too weak to do anything with that knowledge was useless anyway.

He looked back at the list. He didn't need chains. If something required binding, it usually meant he'd already miscalculated.

Weapons continued to scroll by.
