PROLOGUE 1

Author's note: Dear Readers,

The story officially begins with Chapter 1.

The Prologues you just read(or are about to read) serve to introduce Fraze—his past, his personality, and the circumstances of his death before his reincarnation.

You are free to skip them if you wish.

However, as the author, I HIGHLY recommend them.

Understanding who he was is key to understanding who he will become in this new world.

Happy reading

In the schoolyard, well before classes started, a crowd formed a circle around three figures. At the center of attention sat Chloe, the uncontested beauty of the school, the one everyone admired. By her side, Samuel sported a too-perfect haircut and overly expensive clothes. And facing them, there was Fraze.

As the spectators whispered, trying to figure out the scene, Chloe spoke.

"Fraze…I've thought about it. I don't think we're right for each other. I believe I deserve better. So, it's over! I'm dating Samuel now."

Hearing the school queen pronounce his name, Samuel flashed a victorious smile. But the crowd remained silent, hanging on Fraze's reaction. To put it simply, Fraze was known as a weird boy who did really strange things. One of them? One day, in the middle of an exam, he walked out declaring it was "too easy, therefore boring." Normally, no one would have believed him. Except he still ended up top of the class. So, they believed him. And that was just one example. Like the day he called the firefighters for a supposed fire, when it was just him who had lit a simple candle.

While the crowd waited for a good show, an expression of surprise washed over Fraze's face, as if he had just remembered he was in a relationship. He lowered his head, like an actor waiting for the curtain to rise.

One second.

Two.

Three.

Then, to everyone's astonishment – Fraze collapsed to his knees, begging the girl with theatrical intensity.

"No! You can't do this. What did I do wrong? I'm begging you, give me a second chance," he said, hands trembling, face distorted by an exaggerated sadness. Samuel snickered inwardly.

Murmurs ran through the crowd. But no one left their spot. Because they knew him: he was surely going to pull one of his weird ideas.

After a good minute of grotesque pleading, Fraze suddenly stopped. He stood up, dusted off his knees, and let out a loud sigh, as if the scene had genuinely exhausted him.

"Right... this is starting to feel like a drag. If I have to sweat like a pig, it's not my thing. Ciao!"

Then he turned on his heels. That was the real Fraze. That was what the crowd was waiting for. In the same way he hated when things were too easy, he hated when they became too difficult. He lived only for fun. And if it wasn't fun, he stopped dead. He had chosen to beg thinking it would be funny, but since the effort was too great, he decided to move on.

As he walked away, a shocked Chloe called out to him.

"Hey,you...",

'What? So fast? Is he pretending? Or is he really…?' she thought, confused.

Fraze turned around. "What?"

"D-don't think that by saying that,I'm going to run after you! No matter what you do, I will never get back with you, understood?"

Fraze looked at her for a moment as if he didn't understand the absurdity of her words. 'What is she going on about?'

"Yeah, okay, I got it. So stop bugging me with the same thing. It's kinda boring."

Chloe was stunned and embarrassed by Fraze's crude words. The people around were flabbergasted, but not really shocked; they were used to his antics.

"Hey! How dare you talk to Chloe like that? You're just jealous… Hey, I'm talking to you!"

But Fraze was already walking away, without looking back. The situation was seriously starting to annoy him, as he found no more amusement in it. In the beginning, he had hit on Chloe precisely because she was popular and desired. Dating her had made a lot of people furious, and that was fun. But now, he was fed up with it.

After school, the cafeteria buzzed with voices and the clatter of trays. The rumor from the morning had already spread like wildfire. When Fraze entered, he quickly spotted the newly formed couple, who couldn't help but attract stares. He felt no jealousy; he simply ignored them. But as he was getting his meal, an idea crossed his mind. A new idea for his entertainment. And as usual, he feigned indifference, waiting to strike when least expected.

Passing right behind the couple, Fraze slowed his pace. His tray tilted slightly, ready for improvisation.

In a perfectly neutral tone, he said:

"Hey…You know, I saw a movie where a guy wanted to steal someone's food." His words silenced the nearby conversations, as if everyone was straining their ears so as not to miss the show. He was going to pull another one of his stunts.

"The thing is,the victim had already eaten everything. Only the bones were left. And the thief… he was super happy. Goes to show, some people don't know how to recognize when they're too late."

Hearing this, Chloe frowned. Her new boyfriend, however, clenched his jaw – exactly the reaction Fraze was hoping for.

Then, as if to drive the point home, he followed up with a wide, bright, and perfectly insolent smile. "Oh, but… that's funny. It reminds me of something from this morning."

(Ahem, even though nothing had happened between him and Chloe.)

Laughter erupted in the cafeteria following his words. Then, thoroughly satisfied, he went to sit quietly – like a comedian leaving the stage after a good joke.

Meanwhile, the couple was laughing much less.

"That bastard. He really has a despicable personality," Samuel growled, frustrated.

"Don't pay him any mind. He's always like that," Chloe tried to calm him. "If you play his game, it will get worse."

"Tch, he won't have many friends with a character like that. I wonder who could put up with him."

"He's an orphan. He only has a sister he hangs out with all the time. Anyway, drop it."

Samuel allowed himself a discreet smile upon learning Fraze had a sister. 'Oh, you have a sister? And you're an orphan on top of that? Hehe… Expect some good news, then ' .
