A savage energy bled out from my body in violent waves, pressing down on everyone around me like an unseen hand tightening around their throats, and as I slowly forced myself to stand, my legs trembling so badly they almost gave out, no one could tell whether that quiver came from the boundless rage clawing its way out of my chest or from the simple, unbearable truth that I had just watched my father die with my own useless eyes.
In that instant, the darkness nesting within my six eyes ignited, dim crimson lights spiraling violently in my pupils like blood-soaked storms, and anyone foolish enough to meet my gaze felt it immediately—the awakening menace of something ancient and hateful crawling up from an endless abyss—while the suppression grew heavier, thicker, until breathing itself felt like a crime.
