Zhang Qiling and Fatty came home instead of going to the station. Fatty made sure Zhang was fine and then left for the police station.
Zhang Qiling was worried for Wu Xie. While Wu Xie still didn't have his memories, Qiling was fully aware of his feelings for Wu Xie and what he meant to him.
Things weren't difficult for Wu Xie because he wasn't aware of what place his Xiao Ge held in his life unlike the Zhang who was trying his best not to rush into the hospital and hug the love of his life.
As a matter of fact, Zhang Qiling also discovered that his powers from his previous life were also back. Just that he hadn't told anyone yet. Xiazi, or Shades, who was also the same as Zhang, had advised not to let anyone know about his powers yet, lest he wants to lie in the laboratory as a test rat for the rest of his life.
Wu Xie on the other hand was broken. A part of his world had stopped and forever gone. His dad, who was his inspiration had left him and he regretted not spending enough time with him.
While the others handled the body embalming and the funeral matter, Wu Xie along with his cousin Xiao Hua stayed at the hospital with his mother, who unfortunately, was also very critical right now.
Xiao Hua came back with some breakfast for Wu Xie and himself. He opened up the breakfast on the side table and then went up to Wu Xie who was sitting besides his Mom holding her hand against his cheek.
Putting a hand on his shoulder, Xiao called him.
"Wu Xie, come let's eat something. I am sure you didn't even have breakfast in morning. I have got you some. Come, eat." But the younger just shook his head.
"What? I don't understand sign language." Xiao Hua joked to make the atmosphere a bit comfortable.
"I am not hungry, Xiao Hua. You eat go..." Wu Xie replied with a small smile.
"Nope, not allowed. Uncle especially told me to make you eat at least something. So come. Or else do you think Aunty will get fine if you sit here without any food or drink. You'd rather make her worry more." Xiao's words seem to make sense to Wu Xie and he got up without a word and went to eat.
Xiao smiled at his brother and sat down to eat as well.. Both had their breakfast and Wu Xie's phone rang. Seeing the caller, Wu Xie's eyes filled with tears and he held back a sob.
"Hello, where are you? I need you here." Wu Xie said trying not to let the sob out. On hearing those words, the person on the other side felt his heart ache in pain.
"I'm out. Do you want me to come in?" The person asked and Wu Xie agreed to go out first.
"Xiao Hua, I will be back. Keep an eye on Mom." And Xiao agreed.
Wu Xie dashed out of the room and saw the person whom he was waiting so badly, stand there with a poker face.
Zhang Qiling or 'his' Xiao Ge.
Without wasting a second, Wu Xie ran straight into the arms of Zhang Qiling and hugged him tight as if his life depended on it. The other held him just as tight as the younger.
Without a word, Zhang kept patting Wu Xie's head and back till he calmed down. In between he placed a small peck on Wu Xie's hairs. Wu Xie's whole body was shaking as he cried. He probably didn't understand yet, what his pain, his cries did to the other person.
Once feeling better, Wu Xie stepped back, arms still on Zhang's waist and looked into his eyes as if searching for something.
"What is it?" Zhang Qiling asked.
"You talk less, and you don't even have a single expression on your face. I don't know if you feel bad for me, or if you're worried about me at all or not." Wu Xie replied making Zhang go tense.
A flashback appeared in Zhang's mind of the time when Fatty and others all were annoyed at him because he almost was considered mute and on top a poker face.
It was Wu Xie who had said,
"You don't give a f*** about them. Those dogs will bark. I know and understand you. Even when you have a poker face, I see how you feel. When you don't speak, it's fine. There's no need of words between us. One gaze and I know what you want. Just be you. Don't bother about them."
And the Wu Xie now, in the present, who was looking at him, gave him a slight shake.
"What are you thinking?" He asked and Zhang held Wu Xie's face in his hands.
"My heart does break for you. I didn't know my father. I only knew my mother who is also now dead. So I understand how it is to lose someone. With time, when you get your memories back, you will understand everything. For now, don't worry. I will be besides you whenever you look at your side. I promise." Zhang said and placed a kiss on Wu Xie's forehead.
This was the first or maybe one of the very few times when Zhang Qiling had spoken so much. If his colleagues were to hear this, especially Fatty and Xiazi, they would offer offerings to Buddha.
A faint blush appeared on Wu Xie's cheeks and Zhang liked it. He hugged Wu Xie one last time before going back to his own world.
