Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Descuido - Neglect

A few minutes before the incident with the little sun, Andreus and the Royal Guard of Doble Ancha were locked in a battle of endurance, Andreus' tough skin resisting the axe's continuous blows.

"You'll need to try harder than that if you want my head" (Andreus)

Andreus stopped the axe with his hand just above his head, a few drops of blood dripping onto the floor. His skin was tough but not impenetrable, and multiple cuts in the same place began to open wounds.

"Bom"

Andreus' powerful fist connected with the Imp's face, splitting his lip on contact and sending something resembling a tooth flying out of his mouth.

The Great Imp took a step back and touched his face in disbelief. It was the second time someone had treated him this way, and he was not happy to show himself like this in front of his king.

His breathing quickened, his eyes reddened, and he threw his heavy axe aside, ready to deal with the matter with his own fists.

"Boom" "Boom" "Boom"

The human and the Imp exchanged blows until one of them fell first. By the tenth blow, the Imp's face was a bloody mess. He could barely open his eyes, and his vision was stained red by the blood flowing from his forehead.

Andreus's face looked much better than Imp's, except for a few cuts on his cheekbones and a slight bleeding from his nose.

(Max's battle looks good; it won't take him long to finish off his opponent. As for William, he is stronger than Uriel was at his age, and he hasn't even shown his shape-shifting abilities yet).

Thanks to his two companions being able to defend themselves, Andreus had the luxury of playing with the Royal Guard Imp.

"Don't get distracted" (Imp)

The Imp roared with rage and scooped dust from the ground with the tip of his tail, sending bursts of dust flying straight into Andreus's eyes.

"Arghh!"

Andreus roared in pain and closed his eyes, but the Imp's fists didn't stop after his plan worked successfully.

"Arghhhuu"

Andreus received a blow right to his chest where his heart was. His skin was hard, but his organs were just as soft as those of a normal human.

(This is bad, it hurts!!) (Andreus)

Andreus felt intense pain in his chest, almost as if he were having a heart attack, and he had trouble breathing. His lungs burned with pain.

"Bom"

The Imp's second blow left Andreus dizzy and his vision blurred.

"I've finally managed to wipe that damn smile off his face." (Imp)

And with one last powerful blow from both of the Imp's fists to Andreus's back, the latter collapsed to the ground.

"I'll hang your head on a pike." (Imp)

The muscular Imp left Andreus' body and walked towards his golden axe. His desire was to first decapitate Andreus and then slowly devour his flesh with some alcohol. It wasn't a bad plan for the Imp after an exciting battle and being asleep for a few hundred years in stone.

"Your head will be a worthy trophy on my wall" (Imp)

After these words, the Imp brought his axe down on Andreus's exposed neck.

"Stink"

The eyes of the royal guard Imp opened wide in surprise. That blow contained all his strength, enough to decapitate a giant without effort.

A golden flash blinded his vision as Andreus' fist pierced his chest, broke his ribs, ripped out his heart, and exited through his back.

Andreus' hair turned bright gold, and with a single blow, he finished off the Imp who had almost killed him through his carelessness.

*Sigh*

"A little more and I wouldn't be here to tell the tale" (Andreus)

Andreus wiped his blood-covered hand, and the Imp's body fell to the ground with a thud.

"Now, how are the youngsters doing? That looks like a good opportunity."

Present time.

The little sun had reached its maximum size and heat, William and the rest felt their skin burning and breathing the hot air was dangerous; their lungs would burn if they weren't careful.

"Disappear, disgusting creatures of the surface!" (King)

The Imp King raised his hand high next to the small sun. One of his eyes had disappeared from its socket, perhaps part of the sacrifice in exchange for power.

(One of them is already a problem, but three at once will be impossible. Once I finish them off, I will hide and wait for my wounds to heal completely before joining the rest who have awakened).

"I think he just insulted us." (Max)

There was a flash of light, followed by a wave of heat that seemed to incinerate the air. The stone pillars turned red, showing signs of melting.

Max took a deep breath, raised both arms, and a film of energy surrounded the three of them. It was small in size to maximise its thickness but bright golden in colour and extremely durable against physical impacts. The elementals were a minor problem.

It took about ten minutes for the flames to consume all the oxygen in the area and feed on the Imp King's Mana until they burned out completely.

"It wasn't a big deal" (Max)

Max wiped the blood dripping from his nose.

I think the second round is coming. Andreus stood in front of William and Max, using his broad back to protect them both. Max couldn't withstand another small sun.

"Don't worry, Max, I'll take care of the second round" (William)

And with the next flash of dazzling light, William changed shape as he hugged his chest and tilted his head, the huge shadow of Drake with silver scales taking his place.

He surrounded Andreus and Max with his body, and his long tail completely sealed the remaining holes.

"BOOOOOM"

The immense heat energy heated William's scales to red hot. He closed his eyes and nostrils. His new dragon lungs would have no problem going twenty minutes without breathing.

Andreus embraced Max, who was quite small, and any small flames that managed to cross over to William were absorbed by Andreus's body.

Fifteen minutes later, William lifted and shook his body, feeling nothing really. His Drake scales were good at resisting heat and pressure, and his large golden eyes fixed on the Imp King, who had sacrificed his life force twice to carry out both large-scale attacks in quick succession.

He was more like a dry corpse standing by sheer force of will, his enormous wings burned by his own fire, both eyes now empty, burnt holes.

(I can still regain my strength if I eat.)

"I NEED TO EAT!!!"

A terrifying scream emerged from his jaws and his long tongue flicked in the air. He stood up and walked towards the exit, to the gallery filled with the statues of his Imp army. If he ate enough, his wounds would heal and he would be able to flee and hide. Humans did not live longer than 100 years, which was not much time to wait hidden in some dark hole.

"A few will be enough for now..." (King)

(You want to run away?) (William)

*Snap*

A loud snap rang out in the spacious hall. William's Drake tail could extend at will, and its strength and speed broke the sound barrier like a whip.

"Arhhhhrr"

The Imp King screamed as his last arm was severed from the shoulder by William's sharp tail. His dried flesh did not spill a single drop of blood, only pain for the King.

William moved forward slowly and placed his front paw on the Imp King's chest, crushing him into an unrecognisable mass of flesh.

"Wait, William, we need proof of his execution." (Andreus)

Andreus quickly shouted at William to stop. They needed proof for his unit that they had successfully eliminated an Imp King.

William raised his paw again, while Max ran back and forth taking photos of the dying Imp King and the entire room.

"Crack"

Andreus stretched his shoulders, which cracked loudly with the creaking of his large bones.

"Ready, Will, crush this son of a bitch" (Max)

Max waved his arm at William to signal that everything was ready. William lowered his paw and, like a balloon filled with water, the Imp King burst all over the place.

"Let's clean this place up so we can get out of here." (Andreus)

"How are you going to do that? There are still hundreds of Imp statues in the main hall." (William)

"We'll blow it up with explosives. We have more than enough in the Jeep." (Andreus)

It took them a while to place each package of plastic explosives in position and connect everything to a detonator. It was just a measure to deal with the remaining statues, and if it weren't for them, they would simply seal the entrance again with the original door and preserve the ruins.

"In 3, 2, 1..." (Andreus)

"Click"

There was no big explosion; Max's force field limited the sound.

"The Normies will take care of the rest tomorrow. As for the ones on the farm, I have to make a call" (Andreus)

(Los que mate ya debieron convertirse en cenizas) (William)

"Now that we're done, shall we go get something to eat?" (Andreus)

"Some burgers or something like that. Will you join us, Will?" (Max)

"Of course, I also have to get a job in Jericho" (William)

Just after the three left, three small creatures poked their heads out from the branches of a tree.

"They're finally gone."

"I thought they would find us."

"Without the King, we are free now."

"We can eat whatever we want."

"No more disgusting horses."

"I smelled some soft, delicious children in the forest when Cruze was there. Do you want to go see?"

The three ugly creatures argued excitedly in their language, incomprehensible to humans, before flying off towards the forest.
