Chapter 14 - Chapter - 14 A Name to Remember

Chapter - 14 A Name to Remember

The morning sun shone brightly as I left my house, wearing my U.A. uniform once again.

After the usual train ride, I arrived at U.A. High.

The campus had already returned to its normal atmosphere.

Students walked through the hallways, chatting about the Sports Festival.

I could also hear many people talking about me.

"Hey, is that the guy?"

"Yeah, the one with two Quirks."

...

There were many similar conversations around me.

I ignored the voices.

Then I quietly made my way toward Class 1-A.

Sliding the classroom door open, I stepped inside.

"Morning."

A few classmates greeted me.

"Good morning, Itsuki!"

"Morning."

I nodded before taking my seat by the window.

"My image in the classroom has changed a lot," I thought. "Well, that's a good thing."

Not long after, Momo entered the classroom.

When our eyes met, she smiled.

"Good morning, Itsuki."

"Morning."

She walked over to her desk and quietly sat down.

Soon, the rest of the class arrived.

Kaminari stretched his arms dramatically.

"I don't want classes already!"

"You've barely had one day off," Jiro replied.

"It wasn't enough!"

Kirishima laughed.

"You'll survive."

Midoriya was already writing notes in one of his notebooks.

Uraraka leaned over his desk.

"You're taking notes this early?"

"I just had a few ideas."

Todoroki remained as calm as ever.

Bakugo sat in the back of the room, looking as irritated as usual.

Just then...

The classroom door slid open.

Aizawa-sensei walked inside with his usual tired expression.

"Take your seats."

The classroom immediately fell silent.

Aizawa placed several papers on the teacher's desk.

"You've all recovered from the Sports Festival."

"I hope none of you think your performance means you've become real heroes."

Silence filled the room.

"The festival was simply your first step."

He glanced around the class.

"Today, we're moving on to something every hero needs."

Several students looked curious.

"A hero name."

The room instantly became lively.

"A hero name?"

"So we're finally choosing one?"

"This sounds fun!"

Aizawa sighed.

"Calm down."

He picked up a stack of blank cards.

"Your hero name is the identity people will remember."

"It represents your reputation."

"If you choose poorly now, you may regret it later."

The class nodded.

Aizawa continued,

"I've invited someone to evaluate your choices."

Almost on cue, the classroom door opened once more.

The students looked toward the entrance.

"Huh...? Not Midnight," I thought. "Well, whatever."

"Good morning, everyone." Said Aegis.

The class greeted her politely.

She smiled warmly.

"I'll be helping evaluate your hero names today."

Aizawa handed everyone a marker and a card.

"You have fifteen minutes."

"Choose carefully."

Immediately, everyone began thinking.

The classroom became surprisingly quiet.

Some students started writing immediately.

Others stared blankly at their cards.

Kaminari scratched his head.

"This is harder than I thought."

Mina laughed.

"I already have three ideas."

Midoriya looked completely focused.

I looked down at my blank card.

...

A hero name.

Something people would remember.

I didn't need anything flashy.

I picked up the marker.

A few seconds later...

I put it down.

The card contained only one word.

Itsuki.

That was enough.

Across the room, Momo glanced in my direction before returning to her own card.

After several more minutes, everyone finished.

The Pro Hero began walking around the classroom, reading each card one by one.

Some names earned praise.

Others earned laughter.

The atmosphere was relaxed.

Eventually...

She stopped beside my desk.

She looked at my card.

"...Itsuki?"

I nodded.

"That's your hero name?"

"Yes."

She tilted her head slightly.

"That's simply your first name."

"It is."

"Aren't you worried it isn't memorable?"

I looked at the card.

"My parents gave me this name."

"I've carried it my entire life."

"I don't need another one."

"I'll make 'Itsuki' a name people remember."

"After all, that name was given to me by my mother," I thought.

For a brief moment...

The room became quiet.

Several students looked at me.

Kirishima grinned.

"That's actually pretty cool."

Midoriya nodded.

Momo looked at me for a second before smiling softly.

The Pro Hero nodded with a smile.

"Simple."

"But meaningful."

"I approve."

She wrote a small mark beside my name before continuing to the next student.

Once every card had been checked, Aizawa stood up again.

"Now."

"The next topic."

He pressed a button on the remote in his hand.

A large monitor lowered from the ceiling.

Numbers began appearing across the screen.

Several students leaned forward.

"These," Aizawa said, "are the internship offers sent by Pro Hero agencies after the Sports Festival."

The classroom became completely silent.

Everyone searched for their names.

Near the top of the list...

First—

Todoroki.

Second—

Bakugo.

Third—

Itsuki.

Beside my name was an impressive number of offers.

A quiet wave of surprise spread across the classroom.

"So many..."

Kaminari eyes widened.

"Third place really got that many?"

Kirishima whistled.

"That's incredible."

Midoriya stared at the internship board.

Momo looked toward me.

"Congratulations."

I simply nodded.

The screen continued displaying the remaining rankings.

Some students received dozens of offers.

Others only had a handful.

A few had none at all.

Aizawa waited for everyone to finish looking.

"Don't focus only on the numbers."

"The agency you choose matters more."

"You'll spend time working alongside professional heroes."

"You'll learn how real hero work differs from school exercises."

His gaze swept across the room.

"Think carefully before making your decision."

"This internship may influence your future."

The class nodded.

The excitement in the room was impossible to hide.

Some students were already discussing which agencies they hoped to join.

Others quietly considered their options.

I looked at the board one last time before looking out the window.

Internships...

This would be the first step into the real world of heroes.

And unlike the Sports Festival...

There would be no audience.

Only reality awaited.

...

I looked around once more.

The classroom remained filled with excited voices.

Everyone stared at the large screen, carefully reading the names of the hero agencies that had sent them internship offers.

Some students were thrilled.

Others looked conflicted.

I quietly scrolled through my own list.

There were dozens of offers from well-known Pro Heroes across Japan.

Some specialized in rescue.

Others focused on investigations or combat.

I read each one without much expression.

"..."

Then one name caught my attention.

Endeavor Hero Agency.

I paused.

The Number Two Hero.

One of the strongest heroes in Japan.

"...Endeavor."

I continued looking through the rest of the offers, but that name remained in the back of my mind.

Aizawa noticed that everyone had finished reading.

"You don't have to decide immediately."

"Take your time."

"I'll collect your choices tomorrow."

"Choose an agency that suits your goals."

The class nodded.

Some students immediately started discussing their options.

Kaminari looked overwhelmed.

"I have no idea who to pick."

Kirishima laughed.

"Go with someone manly."

"That's not helpful!"

Momo glanced toward me.

"Have you decided?"

"Not yet."

She nodded.

"I suppose it's not an easy choice."

"It isn't."

Before she could continue, the bell rang.

"Class dismissed," Aizawa said.

The students slowly packed their bags and left the classroom.

I took one last look at the internship list before walking out.

---

The trip home was quiet.

I spent most of the train ride thinking about the offers.

There were many excellent agencies.

Each one had something different to teach.

Still...

Endeavor name stayed in the back of my mind.

---

By evening, I returned to the mansion.

The front gates opened automatically.

The staff greeted me as usual.

"Welcome home, Young Master."

I gave a small nod before heading inside.

Just as I reached the staircase—

"The study."

A familiar voice stopped me.

I turned around.

My father stood near the window with several documents in his hands.

His expression was as calm and unreadable as ever.

He wasn't smiling.

He rarely did.

"...Father."

"Come."

There was no emotion in his voice.

I followed him into the study.

The room was quiet except for the ticking of an old clock.

He sat behind his desk.

I remained standing.

"I received a report from U.A."

He placed a document on the desk.

"You've received a considerable number of internship offers."

"Yes."

His eyes met mine.

"One of them is from Endeavor."

"It is."

There was a brief silence.

Then he spoke.

"Accept it."

His tone left little room for interpretation.

"Endeavor is the strongest combat-oriented hero available to you."

"He has experience, influence, and results."

"You'll learn more there than at most other agencies."

I didn't answer immediately.

He noticed.

"You disagree?"

"I haven't decided yet."

"You should."

His voice remained cold.

"Personal preference is irrelevant."

"What matters is your future."

"The strongest environment produces the strongest results."

I looked at him quietly.

He wasn't trying to pressure me emotionally.

He simply believed it was the most logical decision.

After a few moments, I finally replied.

"...I'll think about it."

He gave a single nod.

"Good."

The conversation ended as abruptly as it had begun.

He picked up another file and returned to reading.

"You may leave."

"...Understood."

I turned and walked toward the door.

Just before I left—

"My expectations haven't changed."

I stopped.

"You have talent."

"Don't waste it."

Without waiting for a response, he returned to his work.

I quietly closed the door behind me.

---

Walking through the hallway, I slipped one hand into my pocket.

"...Endeavor."

My father had already made his recommendation.

But the decision...

Was still mine.

I looked out the large mansion window toward the evening sky.

A few minutes passed.

I closed my eyes, then opened them again.

After stretching my arms, I smiled.

"I've decided which agency I'm going to join."

---

The next day...

Aizawa was checking the internship forms.

Then he came across Itsuki form.

He looked at it.

Endeavor Hero Agency.
