Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 Ruthless

Chapter 35 Ruthless

Qin Ziwen initially planned to use the harpy eagle to guard the trap, but after his conversation with Wang Jun, he had to abandon the idea. The harpy eagle,

not skilled in night combat, was too risky to leave out at night.

But since he'd already recruited it, he couldn't let it eat for nothing.

He decided to take it to the surrounding area to map it out tomorrow!

With a radar in the sky providing surveillance, security would be greatly improved.

As for the trap, he'd remove it tonight and hide it in a different place tomorrow night.

He refused to believe anyone would be bold enough to search for the trap inch by inch along the riverbank in the dead of night.

He pulled the rope and scooped the trap out of the river.

  Splash!

Something was thrashing about inside the trap.

The thrashing attracted the harpy eagle's attention. It howled twice, spread its wings, and clumsily crept closer to the riverbank.

Its neck stretched out, its large eyes fixed intently on the inside of the trap.

"You greedy glutton, you're useless, just staring at the food,"

Qin Ziwen chuckled, giving it a light kick to the rump.

The harpy eagle wasn't angry; after seeing what was in the cage, it cried out even more excitedly.

Qin Ziwen exerted force, lifting the cage completely out of the water.

Clear river water overflowed from the gaps.

A large fish, weighing at least two or three pounds, was frantically thrashing its tail.

  "Looks like another tigerfish."

Among tigerfish, this one was probably still a juvenile.

Besides the tigerfish, the cage was empty; even if there were a few small fish, they were probably already in the tigerfish's belly.

After moving away from the riverbank, he shook the cage vigorously, causing the tigerfish to fall to the ground.

  "Eat."

Upon receiving the command, the harpy eagle eagerly pecked at the tigerfish's head.

The tigerfish, which had been jumping around just moments before, instantly fell asleep peacefully. The harpy eagle's

huge claws stepped on the tigerfish's head, its four fingers clamping down, crushing the fish's head.

The eagle's beak slammed down, tearing off large pieces of fish meat, which it wolfed down.

With each bite, the harpy eagle raised its head and glanced to the side.

  "What are you looking at?"

  Following the harpy eagle's gaze.

  "Rustle."

A sudden rustling sound came from the bushes, followed by a figure fleeing in panic.

  "Harpy Eagle, grab him!"

Upon receiving the command, the harpy eagle instantly released its claws, flapped its wings, and soared into the sky, lunging to grab the figure's back. The harpy

eagle grabbed his shoulders from behind, causing him to stumble and fall forward.

  "Ah!!!"

A scream rang out, followed by, "Help! Murder! Ah!"

"Shut him up," Qin Ziwen said coldly.

From the familiar voice and the fact that he was here at this time, Qin Ziwen recognized him and guessed his actions.

Qin Ziwu took out a wood-chopping knife from his waist and strode over. He struck

Liu Changgen in the mouth with the back of the knife. "My brother told you to shut up!"

Liu Changgen was hit hard, and blood gushed from his nose and mouth.

He frantically groped on the ground, grabbing a rock, but before he could hold it, Qin Ziwu kicked him in the face.

  Liu Changgen almost passed out.

Qin Ziwen walked over, his eyelids lowered. "You came here just now to steal my trap, didn't you?"

"Wasn't that right? Ouch, that hurts! Make it let go!" Liu Changgen's head was almost spinning from the kick, but the excruciating pain in his shoulder brought him back to his senses.

The harpy eagle's two claws were like hydraulic clamps, gripping his shoulders tightly.

"Didn't I say I could buy it? Why did you steal it?"     "I didn't steal, I didn't steal!"

"Keep your voice down, you silly eagle, loosen your claws."

Upon receiving the command, the eagle released its claws, flapped its wings twice, and ran to the side, staring intently at Liu Changgen.

Its favorite food was arboreal mammals, such as monkeys and sloths.

This creature in front of it looked somewhat like a monkey ,

  whetting its appetite.

"I'll ask you one more time, why did you steal?"

Liu Changgen cried, "I couldn't afford it, the price you offered was too high."

His face and shoulders, which had been sore, were now numb.

He felt a throbbing, uncomfortable swelling, and his head was spinning.

Qin Ziwen nodded. "That's a good reason. Actually, I don't like killing. I'm a pretty kind person, but we've had such a serious conflict, I'm worried you'll resent me and take revenge on me from behind someday. Do you understand what I mean?"

  "I won't, I won't, I don't hold grudges," Liu Changgen shook his head desperately.

  "Really? Then swear it."

"I swear, I'll never bother you again! If I do, may my whole family die."

Qin Ziwen nodded, seemingly believing him.

He got up and called his brother and the eagle to leave.

Liu Changgen lowered his head, reached out and touched his nose, spreading his fingers to reveal red blood on his fingertips.

A hint of resentment flashed in his eyes.

This young man is so soft-hearted, not seeking revenge? If he doesn't get revenge, he'll change his name! He's never suffered such a loss before.

And what's with that big bird? Such a big bird, how can it obey him?

He's never heard of anyone in the neighborhood keeping such a big bird, why does he not only have a cage but also such a big bird?

He turned his head, his resentful eyes secretly glancing in the direction Qin Ziwen left.

The next second, his expression froze.

Because that kid was actually walking backwards, their eyes met.

Seeing Liu Changgen's resentful eyes, Qin Ziwen's lips curled up. "Looks like your eyes are lying."

At the riverbank, Qin Ziwen and Qin Ziwu carried the 130-pound corpse and threw it into the river.

  "Splash!"

A large splash of water rose from the surface.

There were tigerfish in the river; it wouldn't be long before he was completely devoured.

The harpy eagle didn't quite understand its master's act of throwing away the food, but it didn't care. "If my master won't let me eat, then I won't eat. Fish is delicious too!"

The harpy eagle tore off a piece of fish and swallowed it greedily.

Qin Ziwen gave the harpy eagle a task: "Little eagle, after you finish eating the food, return the way you came, circle around the area, and then return through the window. Don't fly around randomly, understand?"

The harpy eagle's eyes darted around; it received the task, its tiny CPU working its best to analyze it.

Finally, the harpy eagle understood and let out two loud cries.

After Qin Ziwen left, it finished eating the fish and flapped its wings to fly to a nearby branch.

  "Splash~"

It looked at the river, believing it understood its master's meaning.

  Food, circle around, return.

Its master wanted it to take the food and circle around before returning!

The moonlight shone like a ribbon on the river, and occasionally a few fish leaped out of the water, splashing up sprays.

The harpy eagle tilted its head, its large pupils like a pair of high-speed cameras, precisely locking onto the leaping fish, its two claws rubbing together slightly.

The next second, it transformed into a sharp arrow, swooping down onto the river. It

precisely caught a large fish, then soared into the sky.

Qin Ziwen returned home and opened the window.

The harpy eagle flapped its wings and flew into the house.

It dropped the large fish from its claws onto the ground, raised its neck, and proudly awaited praise.
