Chapter 95 - The Birthday [ 4 ]

He stared at me, puzzled.

"Really...?"

"Really."

Even Reyna couldn't believe what I just said as she stared at me, dumbfounded.

But I was serious.

I had no reason to kill her anymore.

Especially since Clementine's father thought of her as his savior as well.

"Lead me to where the others are imprisoned," I said.

He nodded at me and began showing me the way.

I didn't free Reyna yet, as I hovered her right beside me.

Clementine's father led me into the back room where most of the other slaves were.

I freed everyone I could.

Sadly... there were a few prisoners who had already succumbed to their injuries.

But as for those whom I could save, I safely brought them out to the auction area.

In total, there were 63 prisoners.

Including the ones that were already loading onto the carriages... there were 104.

I cleared my throat and finally spoke:

"I'm not sure where you all are from, but I'm sure the guards up there won't take you where you need to be."

I pointed at the bloodied carriages in the distance.

"So I propose you take those carriages and travel back home. There are supplies everywhere, so loot up as much as you need and go."

I paused for a moment, gauging everyone's reactions.

Some believed in my words.

But as for those who hadn't...

"I won't stop you if you decide to put your trust in the people above you. But before you do, ask yourselves... Do you think they didn't see hundreds of people get dragged over to the slums?"

"They're all here for the money. You'll be held here for weeks, if not months, and once you're finally guaranteed freedom, you'll be taken back in by the slavers and sold off."

I knew that much.

Because that's what happened tens of times inside the game.

I finished speaking and pointed at the carriages once again.

For a moment, no one moved.

But then, one of the younger women limped on over toward the carriages.

Bit by bit, more and more of the prisoners began to move.

They looted the merchant stalls and sorted the crates in the carriages.

I was honestly surprised by how civil these people were.

In just a few minutes, they made groups based on the cities or villages they were captured in.

From what I could tell... mostly everyone was captured along the coastal cities and towns of the Elodrenia continent.

I was glad that they would escape safely.

Still, as I turned around, I saw Clementine's father and a couple others standing by.

They were all sirens.

All nine of them.

"You."

I pointed at Clementine's father.

"We're going back right away. Your wife and daughter are very worried about you."

His eyes widened.

"You...? How do you—"

I put a finger over my lips, telling him to shut up.

Then, I glanced at the other sirens who overheard what I just said.

Relieved expressions appeared on their faces.

For the next hour or so, I stood by, waiting for the prisoners to get a move on.

And when they finally vanished from my sight, I collapsed the tunnel, making sure that no one would be able to chase them.

As for us...

RUUUUMBLEEEEE!

CRAAAAACK!

I surrounded everyone in my Telekinesis, and then collapsed the cave.

In an instant, I flew up with the others, pushing through rocks, debris, and a bunch of dirt and mud.

Though drilling through the ground wasn't that hard.

And soon enough, I emerged from the ground and, alongside the others, flew up into the sky.

A massive ravine formed under the bar.

But not only that, as the ravine seemed to go through the majority of the slums, collapsing tens of houses.

Although the slums of the port city of Roland were in utter ruins, the soldiers down below seemed to think of me as a villain.

And so, they drew back their bows, and after a brief pause, unleashed hundreds of arrows at me.

I didn't even bat an eye as I swatted away every single one of those arrows and began flying over to the ocean.

The soldiers were pathetic.

And it looked like I wasn't the only one who thought that.

"So this is what it's like to have Telekinesis, huh?"

I turned my head slightly, meeting Reyna's gaze.

"It's usually much more interesting than this. Though, with your Light Manipulation Gift, I assume moving at light speed is a bit more fun."

She rolled her eyes.

"I wish. I can't see where I'm going, so I have to stop constantly. It's a lot more boring than it looks."

"Have you tried glasses?"

Her brows twitched.

"I didn't take you for someone so snarky."

I just shrugged.

Honestly, her problem was just that she didn't know how to control her Gift properly.

But once she's able to control it, she really could move at the speed of light, and even hit people at the speed of light.

A shiver ran down my spine at that thought.

"Say... You used Telekinesis and Lightning Manipulation to capture me, didn't you?"

Reyna smiled.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're Amon Everness, aren't you? The terrorist who claimed the lives of 5,299 people on one occasion, and then the lives of 11,743 with a massive meteorite before abruptly vanishing off the map."

"..."

"You know, when that old goose of a headmaster claimed you were dead, no one believed it. After all, how could someone who can summon a meteorite from the sky die by his own attack?"

"...And, seeing how you can turn into lightning, I'm sure of it. You're really Amon Everness."

Honestly...

I wasn't that adamant on hiding it forever, and I honestly didn't care enough if some people found out.

But hearing her just lay out the facts right to my face was a bit annoying.

Yet as I was about to reply to her, she suddenly chuckled.

"Don't worry, your secret's safe with me."

Hearing that, I simply nodded at her.

After that, I finally landed right by the ocean, and even as the countless arrows flew our way, I ignored them.

Setting the sirens down, I said:

"Go on ahead. I'll be with you in just a moment."

Clementine's father stared at me for a moment.

I gave him a faint smile, and soon enough, he dove in the water alongside the other sirens and began swimming back home.

When I could no longer see them, I took a deep breath and flew toward Reyna's ship, landing on the very top.

I stared at her for a moment, and then, I finally let her go.
