Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 The life i didn't asked

"Power is a curious thing... Three great men, a king, a priest, and a rich man. Between them stands a common sellsword. Each great man bids the sellsword kill the other two. Who lives, who dies? ... Power resides where men believe it resides; it's a trick, a shadow on the wall, and a very small man can cast a very large shadow."

The dim torchlight flickered across the cold stone walls of Maegor's Holdfast, casting dancing shadows along the crimson drapes and ornate Valyrian steel inlays. A heavy silence filled the royal chamber as a boy who looks to be 6 or 7 years old, was looking at the mirror with a blank face.

A child's face was pale as moonlight, with long white lashes and lips with the color of rose petals. His long, silvery-gold hair fell like a curtain down to his lower back, delicate yet regal. He was beautiful, too beautiful for a world that was cursed, his beauty was almost inhuman. But within those obsidian like violet eyes was a mind far older than of the child age.

Unlike the child like innocence's their was something far darker in those eyes.

The child name is Viserys Targaryen or was until a lost soul has taken his body.

His violet eyes, darker than most Targaryens, stared back at him with a haunting intensity that belied his tender age.

'Three days in this cursed world…' he thought, brushing a finger over his cheek.

'Three fucking days, since I died by the hands of that bitch… just because i tried to crawl, and now instead of being dead... I'm Viserys Targaryen the second son of the Mad King.'

"Hah.....hah...hahah.......hahhahahahahah"

He let out a cold childish laugh when he realized this. He was reborn as a character in the world of Games of thrones.

A novel name "Song of Ice and fire". A world where death is the most common thing, and a world where even the king is not safe. A world where betrayal and war are common.

When Alex has come to know this, he tried to kill himself with multiple things but he failed just like in his last life, those same things keep on happening, like when a knight saw him wielding a dagger and took it from his hand.

Or when his mother saw him standing at the railing, she thought that he was about to jump, which he was about too.

But after his failed attempts he has come to know that something was stopping him from killing himself, that something was very annoying, that something was what Alex hated the more then winter and that something was also very dangerous...

'Why can't "it" let me die.' he thought with his blank gaze looking at the mirror of his reflection.

Alex was now on a blink of breaking point, anyone would be if they were to go though the same things he has gone thought.

BUT

'This end's now.'

Now he has enough of being the one in the receiving end's. He was now going to write his own fate, he is now going to be the master of his own destiny.

And on that day he make a vow to himself.

'In this life i will not be controlled. This time i will not suffer like my last life, in this world i will mark my own name. A name that these fucker's of the world will never forget.'

And

'Pray "you" basted that i never find you, because if i did then, hell would break lose.'

Alex was now in the body of Viserys Targaryen. A prince that was born into a Kingdome that was on blink of crumbling because of Robert's Rebellion. He is the second son of Aerys II Targaryen, younger brother to Rhaegar and older brother of an unborn Daenerys.

A prince that was referred to as a "Beggar king" in the future. He was fated to died with a molten gold pour on the top of him, a horrifying death for the previous Viserys future self.

But this Viserys has some different plans,

'As if i will ever let that happened.' Alex had no intention of dying like the previous Viserys.

He know that, this was his seconds chance and he could not waste it, so he has spent these three days preparing what little he could do and what little changes he could bring, and it was enough.

He had known that he couldn't stopped Rhaegar from running off with Lyanna Stark, since it was already too late... but he did made sure that two best kingsguard Ser Arthur Dayne, "Sword of the Morning" and Ser Gerold Hightower, "Caption of the kingsguard" would come to the kingslanding.

It was easier said then done, it was a task that was the most challenging since, Alex himself needed to meet the mad king himself for it to done. He just needed to say to his father that "the more kingsguard he has the more he will feel safe."

'That guy is scary.' thought Alex as he shivers just from standing near that guy, but Alex himself didn't expected his half perfect plan to actually work.

The second his father hear his child concern's for him he immediately order the two strongest kingsguard to return at once, and the kingsguard that were left behind by Rhaegar to protect Lyanna has to come because of their oath to serve the king and has to follow every commend he gives.

But they did left all the 200 soldiers in her care.

And because this summon was made by the The Mad King himself, they has to come in one day, not even taking a rest.

'After all that guy is more paranoid of the people taking his throne, then anyone else.' Alex in his previous life has watched the series Games of thorns and he has also read the book too. He know that the Mad king was more and more paranoid of everyone around him, thinking that they all wanted the Iron throne from him.

Alex then thought about his brother who has comes to the kingslanding just two days ago, the same day he got into Viserys body, that day Rhaegar come into the throne room, and asked Mad king for the permission to take the 35,000 loyal soldiers, but if he included the army of 10,000 dronish men's. It was a total of 45,000 soldiers.

Mad king first shouted and scream at Rhaegar for not appearing before and coming out now, when things have gotten much worse, Rhaegar just keel their motionlessly not saying a single world.

After the Mad King got tired, he give the permission to take the soldier's. Rhaegar with the permission bowed and given didn't take any rest as he gather the army under the commend of four beast kingsguards, Lewyn Martell, Barristan Selmy, Ser Arthur Dayne and Ser Gerold Hightower.

The army march towards the rebellion's forces with the banner of Targaryen, while the remaining kingsguards were left to guard the Redkeep.

Now it's been two days, and their is still no news from his brother and any one else.

Viserys has also met his mother the original owner of this body, Queen Rhaella Targaryen. She was suspicious of Viserys sudden change in mood, and she was also very concern for him after all she just saw him falling of the railing.

She thought that he was scared of the rebel forces or something like that, so she started keeping him closer to herself, not even letting him alone for a second.

'That women is going to be a pain in a ass.' thought Viserys as he shake his head. He remember the mother of his trying to calm him down when he didn't even need it and she was also not letting him go anywhere else without her.

Even when he wanted to bath she would not left him go alone as she would bathed with him.

Not that he didn't like it, but still he wanted some personal freedom too, after all in his previous life he didn't have any.

Only after telling his mother that he was tired and wanted to sleep alone, did she let him go to his room.

Viserys stood up from his cushioned seat and moved toward the window, gazing over the Red Keep's battlements. He watched how the soldiers were roaming the streets, carrying fire torches in the narrow streets.

He saw how the civilians were closing the doors of their house, how the mother was carrying their children to the safety, and some families were even getting out of the Kinglanding. He could hear the cries of the people down below, since they all now know that a large war was on them, and who knows if they will be spared or not.

'Some of them are going to die, and some might not even make it.' thought Viserys with a dark look on his face, he has watched to show and he know what was coming for him and for others, And it was no good.

Viserys then suddenly remember the time he warned his elder brother about his fate, in hopes that it could change the future that was about to come.

It was two days ago, just an hour before Rhaegar would go for the war. Viserys was standing outside of his room with some nervousness, as he looked at his older brother Rhaegar. The men who was the reason this war was even happening.

"T-take m-more men," Viserys said with a slutter, his childish voice and his sudden arrival made Rhaegar who was getting ready stunned.

But Viserys didn't stopped to see his reaction as he continued, his voice cracking in between the lines.

"D-double y-your g-guard around y-you and be w-wary of Robert's..... h-h-hamm-mer, it's not a s-s-sword that dance. It a large hammer that crushes anyone on it's site, so Don't fight him head-on. K-k-kill h-him with a-a-arro-ows or don't fight him at all."

Rhaegar was first shocked to see his little immature brother sudden change of behavior, but still he only smiled, as he walked towards Viserys, gently patting his head.

"You sound like a little seer, Viserys ," he had said warmly, but his eyes held a bit suspicion, because he know that the little brother of his would never roam around the nights and will never say something like this to him.

But then he though that Viserys must be shaken by such war and he must be scared, so he with a calm heart he spoke in soft tone.

"Fear not little one, I will return unharmed, and i will tell you about the old tales of the Valyria."

With that he soon walked out of the room, Viserys had watched him go, a dark thought clawing at his mind. 'Will he survive ?'

This thought has taken a deep rooted in his mind, not because he wasn't sure of Rhaegar strength but because he has seen the show and read the book. He has known that this Targaryen prince would die by getting crushed by that Robert hammer.

But after hearing his words, would he really die ?

His gaze turned towards the a men knight standing beside him. The one knight that was assigned to him by his father for his safety, his name was something Ser Rob.

Viserys looked at the knight as he nodded his head, and the knight too as if sensing what he wanted to say nodded his head in return and then he soon he started following Rhaegar.

Viserys wanted to be sure that his brother would return alive, so he make one of his own knight to accompany him in war, and this knight main purpose would be to make sure that Rhaegar return safely, but a thought still remain in his mind.

'Would this be enough?'

Now three days later, Viserys was still in his room when he heard a knock on the door.

KNOCK!!

"Your highness, you are summon to the court room." outside the door a rough and tired voice sounded.

'Hmm.. that's weird.' thought Viserys as he know that he has not done anything to be called at the throne room. But still he move out of the balcony as he opened the door and walked out, only to see a soldiers standing their, a tense expression was on his face.

"His grace has called for you..." said the solider as he move out of the way for Viserys to move, he looked at Viserys with some pity in his eyes.

Viserys sensing the look of the solider giving him. He knows that this was not a good summon, but still he nodded his head as he started making his way towards the throne room.

'Something bad is about to happened and i can sense it. '

The throne room was colder than usual when Viserys entered, he saw Aerys II sat hunched on the Iron Throne, his fingernails blackened and bleeding from obsessive clawing on the handle, his unkempt beard matted with spit and wine.

"Those damn traitors.....damn traitors.......traitors." he seems to be mumbling something about "traitors", as his blank violet eyes now held the crazy glint of madness.

Viserys was scared to look at the old king, so he turned towards his mother Queen Rhaella, who stood nearby her hands shaking from fear and something else. Her eyes were red from the crying and weeping as handmaidens tried to console her.

The Small Council stood stiff as statues, Lord Qarlton Chelsted, Grand Maester Pycelle, Lord Rossart, and some of the fire keepers, the nearby soldiers too were silent. The air around the throne room was thick with dread, as if someone has died,

"What happened?" Viserys asked as he looked at the nearby solider, who stood like a statue.

The soldier, whose armor still caked in dried blood, he stepped forward and fell to one knee, as he speak in a shaky voice.

"Y-your Grace… your brother, P-prince Rhaegar… has fallen. He died at the Trident. Killed… by Robert Baratheon's war hammer."

Rhaella collapsed to her knees, as she couldn't bear to hear this again, her tears kept on following out of her eyes, as she kept on crying and crying, her handmaidens quickly escorted her out of the room.

Viserys hearing this blinked as he didn't get what the solider just said.

"What, but H-HOW?" said Viserys as he couldn't help but feel shocked as he know that he has warned Rhaegar about Robert. He also made sure to tell his brother 'to be wary of Robert hammer', he even send one of his knight to make sure that his brother return alive, and he has changed so much of the story, like their were 25,000 soldiers accompany him, with 4 kingsguards for his safety.

Then why ??.... why did he still died ?

Viserys looked around, he didn't see Ser Rob as he couldn't find the knight, their can only be two possibility, that either the knight has died in the battle or the knight has fled when Rhaegar died, but Viserys don't know which of the the possibility is true since the knight himself was not here.

The solider looking at Viserys pale face, understand what the young Prince wanted to say, speak now in clear tone.

"It was one of our own solider disguise as a rebellion who betrayed him," the soldier continued with grim-faced. "Stabbed him from behind… weakening him… it gave Robert the chance to attack the wounded Prince. Prince Rhaegar chest was crushed and his ribs shattered." At the end of the tone his face has dark, with his voice now full of grimness.

'So even if i did change the future the outcome will be the same,' Viserys thought numbly as he has now come to know that Rhaegar death was written in blood. A death written with a ink that nobody can change it.

'But still it wasn't just a fair duel, It was a betrayal that cost him his life.' thought Viserys as his face darkened, he now knows that Rhaegar must have fought carefully against Robert but he didn't expect one of his own soldiers to stab him.

"Where is Robert now?" Viserys asked quietly, he wanted to know if the that man has died or not, since their were four kingsguard accompanying Rhaegar, the chanced of Robert dying are also high.

The solider replied immediately "He is Injured, he lost his left arm in the fight, the Rebel forces are decimated and more than half of them are dead or wounded, they all retreated when the Prince fall."

'Robert… he lost an arm?' thought Viserys, his eyes flash with surprise, he know that this wasn't supposed to happened. And It seems like things are changing, he has changed future by a lot, even if it was a little it was still a consider a change.

"So what now." asked Viserys as he looked around the court, these people were now frighten and scared for their life's, most of them were now thinking of either betraying the king or flee to a safe place.

A calm voice answered from behind "Robert is wounded, perhaps permanently, But he lives. His army was decimated. Only a quarter remain, many injured. Ours returned with 10,000 men though only 5,000 are fit to fight again."

Viserys turned his head and saw that it was Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning, stepping forward with a bloodied bundle in his arms. Wrapped in black and red silk was Rhaegar's lifeless body, his chest crushed, his handsome face serene in death.

Aerys II Targaryen hissed from atop his throne, as he spoke in a rough voice. "Traitors. Basted. They all want my crown. Burn them. BURN THEM ALL."

The court fell silent, as they didn't dare to say anything else, Viserys knowing the situation was bad has to stepped forward carefully, as he spoke.

"F-father," his voice trembled as he tried his hardest to not show fear, he continued. "Now is the time to be w-wise, To prepare for the t-traitors that are now about to e-evade the kingslanding. Burning anything isn't going to-"

The Mad king eyes snapped to him as he didn't let Viserys finish, "Even you question me now, boy?"

He said loudly to make all the members flinch, they all now backed off, as they looked at Viserys with some pity.

Viserys flinch from the voice as he quickly bakeoff, he tried to give the reason "No, I-"

"Enough!" the Mad King roared. "Rossart! Begin preparation! Blackfyre will flood the sewers and cellars. When Robert's dogs breach the walls, we light the fire. LET'S BURN THEM ALL"

Grand Maester Pycelle hearing this all paled as he looked at the Mad King. "Your Grace, that would kill thousands—"

"I do not care for those peasants. The flames will purify the filth they are." The King said not a bit of concerns for the people, he now just wanted the city to burn, to feel his wrath.

One of the Kingsguard who didn't go to the war, since he was task to protect the King's, his name is Ser Harlan Grandison, the old kingsguard stepped forward, as he spoke with grim voice.

"Your Grace… I beg you… consider what you're saying."

"DO AS I SAY" Aerys screeched, as he shouted from the top of his lungs.

Viserys clenched his fists lightly not with anger but with fear as he know that the Mad king now has completely gone insane. 'It's worse than the show, He's completely gone now.'

The council looked to Viserys, it was now common that he was now the heir of the throne, since Rhaegar was dead. But Mad king still ruled the throne, they were all hoping that he could atleast change the mind of the king.

'What are you all expecting from a kid.' Viserys face darken as he couldn't help but wanted to curse out loud, but still he kept his silence until.

"Prince Viserys ," Grand Maester Pycelle, the dog of the Lannister which wasn't known to many, only to Viserys, he then asked softly, "Can you not speak to him? Maybe he will listen to you."

Viserys looked at the Pycelle, trying his hardest to not strangle this old men, he know very well why this dog has spoken now, 'He is trying to get me killed.'

But he was not the only one who wanted Viserys dead, after all many were now thinking of changing their alliances, since they know with Rhaegar death means the war is lost.

'Not now but soon i will kill them.' he thought then he clam down and he spoke, since he know that if his father did that it will not only affect him but his future too.

"Father," he said trying his hardest to be gentle, as he spoke carefully. "Let me help, let me lead the defense of the city. We can still win this war, but we need the people of the kingslanding. Don't turn them against us."

'With all the war movies, and war strategies i have watched and learn, i think i can hold the front for longer.' Viserys thought from his past life experience of watching his step-brother play the strategies games, even thought his brother was not good at it, but atleast Viserys got the gist of how to assemble the troops and how to hold the line.

Aerys looked at Viserys as he leaned back, snarling. "You sound like your foolish elder brother."

He waved a hand as if dismissing Viserys words, then said "No, You are too valuable. Arthur Dayne," he snapped towered the kingsguard, "you will escort Prince Viserys and my wife Rhaella to Dragonstone. Take two thousand loyal men, and take the two more of the kingsguard to protect the last line."

Arthur bowed stiffly, as he said "As you command… Your Grace."
