Lekki Apartment
I groaned as I struggled to get up from the bed, my whole body was so weak from last night. I turned towards my phone and took it
Seven missed calls from Michael
"Hmmmm" i stared at my phone screen thinking of what to say when I call him
I'm sure Anna is still upset with me and honestly i understand her. I still can't believe i hit my best friend. I sighed and then dailed his number, he picked up immediately
"Aurora I've been trying to reach you since last night!" He rapped out quickly
Something about his voice seemed anxious
"Mike what's wrong? You sound anxious" i sat up on my bed
"Have you seen or heard from Anna?"
I kept quiet for a while before responding "no, i thought you both went home together. Did something happen to her?"
I was getting worried
"I hope not. She went out for a walk last night and never came back. I've tried calling her but her phone is switched off. Aurora I'm really worried"
"What?! Oh my goodness. Have you tried going to her apartment?"
"Aurora Anna's apartment was blown off, that's why she's staying with me in the first place"
I felt like an idiot right now, Anna was going through alot and I didn't even know. Her only family, aunt Titi was captured during the attack too and i only found out from Michael. I've been such a selfish jerk
"Where are you now?" I asked
"Home"
"Okay stay there, I'm coming over with Mirabel. Please lock your gate and make sure you don't let any strangers in. I'm pretty sure the oracle or purple Lagoon has something to do with Anna's disappearance"
"Okay, please get here soon. I have something to show you too, i cracked the file last night"
"Great. I'll be there"
I quickly ended the call and jumped off my bed. At least some good news
I rushed into my bathroom, had a quick shower, changed into a black hoodie and sweatpants then came out to the living room to see Mirabel watching the news while eating cereal.
"Hey"
She turned towards me and smiled briefly
"Sorry about last night, i just..."
"Hey it's okay. I understand" she dropped the cereal and came to hug me
"Thank you so much" i hugged her back feeling suddenly calm
"You're welcome. Don't worry, I'm sure nothing will happen to Aron. From what I've seen, the guy's strong so I'm sure he escaped." She let go of me and smiled
"I hope so. Um I'm scared" i said sadly
"Cause of Aron?" She looked confused
I shook my head "Anna is missing"
"What?!"

"Unbelievable" Mirabel said again
I just kept quiet looking out of the car window, we were in an uber heading to mike's apartment. Alot was on my mind and I just felt confused
"Your dad is going down today"
I jerked away from the window and stared at her "huh?"
"You don't watch the news. The president is having a press conference today, he's going to expose the oracle. I guess after that, then he'll start arresting the members"
I was a bit shocked, everything was happening so fast
"So the oracle is really going down?" I muttered
Mirabel nodded "it's about time. At least after their downfall, we can finally focus on bringing down the purple Lagoon"
"True. I just pray nothing goes wrong"
"You said Micheal cracked the file?"
I nodded "yeah, we'll be able to understand everything when we get there"
Mirabel smiled "everything is working im our favour"
"Not really. I'm worried about Anna, what if she was kidnapped by the enemies?"
"I doubt so, maybe she just went somewhere to get space. She's still angry with you"
I just nodded again, i just have this scary feeling that Anna was in danger
We soon arrived at mike's apartment, i paid the uber driver and we got down from the car. We walked into mike's compound, it was a small compound with several small houses facing eachother. There were some people in the compound going about their business, and they all stared at us as we walked over to mike's house. I've been here before but I never really took time to study it, Michael wasn't really rich so I guess that's why he lives in this ghetto like environment.
"Knock knock" Mirabel knocked on the front door
"Who's there?" A male voice shouted from inside
"It's us Aurora and Mirabel" i said
The door opened and an older version of mike stepped out
"Good morning sir" i greeted as i bent down in the Yoruba culture
"Good morning my daughter" mike's dad smiled
"Good morning sir" Mirabel greeted too
The man nodded and ushered us into the living room. He shut the door and gave us a seat
"Mike's in his room, you can go and see him"
The interior of the house was so much better and different from the the exterior. The living room had lovely blue walls with family pictures hanging on them, the sofas were beige in colour and it looked really cozy. I nodded and we walked over to the hallway, mike's room was on the left. I knocked on the door and he opened it
"Finally" he smiled though the smile didn't reach his eyes
"You look like hell" Mirabel said as we came into the room
"I've seen hell." He rubbed his face in frustration and sat on the bed
"I'm really sorry for putting you and Anna through this" i apologised
"It's fine. Any news on Aron?" He even cared to ask after everything I did
"Not really. I've been trying to get through to him with the new phone i got for him but it's switched off"
Michael looked at me sadly "i get what you're going through, I'm worried about Anna too. Gosh that girl is so stubborn"
"It's my fault, i wished things were a bit different. I just pray nothing happened to her"
"Same here. Though I'm starting to think she was actually kidnapped" mike said
"Hmmm" i stared at him
He looked he knew something we didn't "what happened?"
"Before all this, i noticed a black SUV has been following Anna and I around..."
"And you didn't tell me?!" I yelled
"Shush my dad's home"
I just frowned "why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to stress you, besides i didn't think much of it. But I'm regretting it now" he face palmef himself
"Oh gosh, so that means Anna is really in danger?" Mirabel was now scared
I just glared at Michael
"If something happens to my best friend, I'll kill you"
"I'll kill you too cause she left in the first place because of you" he glared back
"Guys please let's focus" Mirabel tried to ease the tension going on "mike what about the file?"
"Yeah what about it" i suddenly remembered
"Hmmmm. I found something"
"What?" We both looked at him expectantly
"Names and location. There was a project conducted by the government to develop a virus..."
"We already know that. What names and location?"
"So i did a little research on Samuel Obala corps, there's an old retired worker of his called Ebin. He left the company after the doctor went missing and the police has been trying to get but unable to. His name is in the file though it was coded, i think doctor Samuel was trying to hide his whereabouts from the oracle. Ebin knows where the virus is and everything else"
"Great, so where is this Ebin of a person?" I asked feeling hopeful
"In Lagos, the location was coded but I was able to crack it. Here's the location" he handed me a piece of paper
"I don't know this place" i peered at the address on the paper
"Wait i know that place, Gabi once mentioned this place" Mirabel suddenly chirped in
"Can you take us there?" I asked
Michael nodded "but no ubers, we'll walk. They're following us and we need to be cautious"
I nodded
"We'll leave now. Mirabel you'll stay here with my dad, please lock the doors and don't come out until we get back. I have a feeling Anna may come back, so be vigilant" Michael said
He's taking over, i smiled
"No problem" Mirabel nodded
"Aurora let's go through the back door" he said and stood up
I waved Mirabel goodbye and walked out of the room with mike.
