Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Abyssal beings

After running for an eternity, Michael finally stopped, turning his head back, he asks, "Are you ready?" Anne glanced, "You still haven't answered my question." Cutting her mid-sentence, "Stop, its better for you to not know. Curiousity kills." Anne laughed, then gets to the point, "Ingnorance is a killer in these hells, but sure, let us go with your plan." She glared at Michael, ready for the next step. "Dig down, not with that sword, it'll break in half."

They started digging, the rocks burnt and dried, those rocks seemed easy to just break in half with the palm of the hand, yet Michael said otherwise. Though it doesn't seem to concern Anne, not just yet. "Now, can you tell me the reason yet? I'm waiting." Anne gazed at Michael, eyes filled with the hatred glooming in the sky."The god that has risen could come back, either thats good or thats bad. Do not ask more." She nodded, trying to shake off Michael's worry.

They dug, then they finally reached it, the inner ecosystem. "We can't stay here for long, these animals feed on small amounts of sap, they're poisionous, so is their habitat." His eyes pupils widened, "Been a long time since I saw you," Michael chuckeled, then laughed manically, he glanced at the being, or rather, the creature in front of them, a horde of meat with eyes, Michael's eyes sparked, ready to fight.

Anne looked around, the creatures were diffrent, one looked like a mice, it was tiny and covered in spikes, the other was like a disfigured wolf, with strange parts, another looked eeirily like a human, it was like that was a human, it was an odd one out of the ecosystem—along with the creature blocking their path, Michael turned to where she was looking, and laughed manically, "These two were my opponents, they were defeated and trapped here by me. See why I told you we should not stay here for long?"

Michael couldn't look away for long though, as the creature was already gaining speed, rushing towards him, ready to settle the century old grudge. The moment he looked back at his opponent, it was already too late. Even if he had pulled his blade out right that moment, the ginourmous creature over-shadowing him was already about to swallow him whole.

Anne panicked, after all, Michael, even if he was suspicious, was her only chance in these realms. She stopped thinking, she let instinct and rage take over, her body moved in a way she thought wasn't possible, her arms reaching for angles that could break her even with just a small touch, her blade swung in paths impossible to recreate, it was like she was granted power from the gods. The creature was torn into peices before it could even pick up what happened, it felt just like when it fought with Michael, this time, even if it had sacrificed its body like last time, it still wouldn't win.

The blood pooled, crimson splashed on the walls, the walls contracted, before secreting with liquid. The creature looked in horror, running on whats left of it, trying to escape, Anne took back control, Michael shouted for her, before rushing up, Anne didn't know what to do, she just followed behind.

Finally exiting the cave, she questions, "Why were you running so desperately?" Michael glanced at the hole they dug, "We were in the roots of the tree, the blood makes the tree agitated and it also sees it as a chance of nutrition, thats why most animals in their are herbivores, or if they do eat meat, they eat corpses."
