Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

"How hateful!"

Kasumigaoka Utaha gritted her teeth and whispered, "I should never have bought this four-story house. Now, with the wind and rain raging, I'm stuck on this raft with no one to care."

"Sigh, my stomach is acting up again."

She curled up, her heart filled with helplessness.

If those foods hadn't been in plastic packaging, we might not even have enough to eat right now.

The rain has been falling continuously for two days.

As the floodwaters were about to reach the third floor of their apartment building, and the fourth floor was also starting to flood, all the residents of the building rushed to the top floor, making the narrow fourth-floor corridor extremely crowded.

Even worse, some of the rain-soaked items emitted a foul stench that made people cover their noses and frown.

"Who's carrying all this wet stuff upstairs?!"

Complaints arose from the crowd:

"It stinks horribly, why not just throw it down? And that old boot, it's soaked and rotten, yet you leave it out in the wind, are you deliberately trying to make everyone smell your stinky feet?"

"Nowhere to put it? Can't I just stuff it in your mouth? You have such bad breath! Why don't you jump in and soak in the water yourself?"

"That's what the other person retorted."

Amidst the commotion, the door to room 4250, opposite Utaha Kasumigaoka's house, suddenly burst open, and Norihito Higashi roared:

"Can you please stop? Does anyone have any tools? My house is also getting a little wet."

Upon hearing this, everyone suddenly understood.

tool?

Who could produce repair tools at this time?

Is the water leaking from the living room?

A man in the crowd asked in a loud voice.

Upon hearing this, Higashiki's eyes lit up with hope: "Yes, the living room! You have the tools?"

Upon hearing that the living room was leaking, the three single men exchanged glances and a wicked smile crept onto their lips.

They originally lived on the second and third floors, but temporarily moved to the fourth floor because their home was flooded.

Besides Kasumigaoka Utaha, a high school student, there is another beauty here—Higashi Norihito's wife, Higashi Yori.

Normally, they were wary of the two women and dared not make any rash moves.

However, with the emergency hotline constantly busy and a power outage occurring for several days, they had long been unable to contain themselves.

At this moment, Higashikihito actually invited them into his room, which was a godsend.

The three men pretended to be carrying tool bags, pushed open the door, and one of them even "thoughtfully" closed the door for Higashi Norihito.

"There's a piece of wood left over from the renovation. Help me fix the wall, and then I'll find someone to repair it later."

As he spoke, Higashiki Shinichi shone a flashlight on the broken window.

The three soaking wet bachelors, looking at Higashi Kijin's innocent and pure face, could no longer contain their elation.

"Smack!"

A loud bang, like a train crashing into him, struck Higashikihito directly in the face, shoving him heavily against the door panel.

The one who made the move was the one among the three who regularly works out.

Higashiki Higashi collapsed to the ground, one hand holding his glasses, spitting out broken teeth and blood, and asked in astonishment:

"What are you doing? Why are you hitting me? What have I done to offend you?"

Facing the still-refined Higashi Kijin after being hit, the gym-goer sneered and slapped his cheek:

"I'd like to know if you, a scholar, can still maintain this refined demeanor when you see your wife being bullied."

The three men burst into laughter, and only then did Higashi Kijin realize that they hadn't come to repair the window, but were robbers!

"What are you thieves trying to do? Trespassing is a crime!"

Higashiki's weak voice had no intimidating power.

The fitness enthusiast snorted coldly:

"If you dare to shout again, I'll throw you out the window. Do you want to gamble that after this apocalyptic storm, those good-for-nothing cops will be able to find out that we killed you?"

Higashiki felt a suffocating sensation as if his throat was being choked, and fear instantly overwhelmed him.

At this moment, Dongyangli, who was inside the house, noticed something was wrong, came out of the room, and asked in confusion:

"Oh dear, honey, didn't you say you were going to find someone to fix the windows? I think I heard you two arguing. The soundproofing in the house isn't good. The person is just trying to help, so don't be stingy with the money."

Dongyangli's intellectual demeanor only fueled the three bachelors' lustful desires.

"Quick, get a flashlight! I want to see the look of terror on her face!"

One of them said menacingly:

"I just can't understand how such a beautiful lady could marry a spineless coward like Higashi Kijin!"

What are you trying to do?!

Dongyang screamed, "Let me go! Husband, help!"

She struggled desperately, banging on the wall, hoping to get her husband's attention. However, Higashiki Hitoshi slumped to the ground, too timid to make any move.

Her cries for help pierced through the walls and reached Kasumigaoka Utaha's bedroom across the street.

The commotion was so loud that even the Yukino family on the 5th floor heard it.

"Mrs. Yangli?"

Yukino listened intently with surprise:

"Could it be... that she also suffered the same misfortune I did a few days ago?"

Her eyes widened, a sense of foreboding rising within her.

17. Saved Mrs. Dongyang

Why is it so noisy downstairs?

Chang Wei sat upright in front of the desk lamp, holding a youth training magazine in his hands, occasionally fiddling with his little finger inside his ear.

In order to live more comfortably, Chang Wei was unwilling to see his quality of life decline.

So he used his accumulated 800 points to redeem a desk lamp and a gas stove.

This makes cooking much easier.

As for drinking water, he spent 200 points to obtain his daily necessities.

After all, it's hard to say whether the rainwater outside is clean or not, so you can't really feel at ease eating, drinking, washing, or using it.

"Save her...please save her!"

Yukino Yukinoshita broke the silence and took the initiative to make a request to Changwei.

Chang Wei's gaze locked onto Yukino Yukinoshita, his expression serious: "You know her?"

"Yes, it's Mrs. Yang from downstairs. We used to see each other often."

Yukino Yukinoshita replied:

"She is a very good person."

"Just because he's a good person?"

Chang Wei stared intently at Yukino Yukinoshita, pressing closer step by step.

In this apocalyptic world, he didn't want to meddle in other people's business.

But if there's something to make money, he doesn't mind finding something to do.

"She is beautiful and has great skin. She even gave me skincare products before."

Yukino Yukinoshita added.

Chang Wei listened, pondering to himself:

Having an attractive companion is nice, but the prerequisite is that Yukino Yukinoshita must be clear about the reality, genuinely willing to stay by your side, and would never do anything detrimental to you.

Yukino Yukinoshita caught a clue from Chang Wei's gaze and repeated questioning, and lowered her head to mutter to herself:

"Time is of the essence. I'm willing to grant you one reasonable request: please save Mrs. Yangli!"

"make a deal!"

As soon as Chang Wei finished speaking, he got up and left.

Watching Chang Wei leave, leaving only the empty chair spinning in place, Yukino Yukinoshita felt a pang of emptiness in her heart.

She muttered to herself:

"Did I agree too soon?"

"And what kind of demands will this scoundrel make? I should have been more specific and let him make them himself... What if they're unreasonable? Didn't I say they couldn't be unreasonable? If they are, can I back out later? What a scoundrel..."
