Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Iruma's life at Babyls Demon School immediately accelerated into a state of delightful chaos.

With Asmodeus Alice declared his fervent vassal, and Clara Valac his self-appointed playmate, Iruma's attempts at blending in were completely incinerated.

Alice, determined to prove his loyalty, began shadowing Iruma everywhere, treating him with the kind of stiff, overly formal deference usually reserved for a high-ranking noble.

Clara, meanwhile, treated Alice's seriousness as a new, hilarious game, constantly distracting him and trying to force both boys to participate in her nonsensical activities.

The next major hurdle was the classroom placement. Due to the infamous recital of the "unfall" curse, Iruma, Alice, and Clara—along with several other "problem children"—were all placed into the infamous Misfit Class.

Delkira, who had quickly settled into his double life as both the invisible King and the anxious father, found this highly amusing.

That afternoon, Iruma, Alice, and Clara entered the Misfit Classroom. The room itself was unsettling, decorated with bizarre, unsettling artifacts, and the students were, to put it mildly, intimidating.

There was a demon who looked like a rock, a huge, muscled brute, and several others who radiated palpable malice.

Iruma felt his heart hammering against his ribs, recalling his father's warnings about the unpredictable nature of demons.

He clung to Alice's sleeve for a moment, a rare display of nervousness that Alice immediately mistook for a sign of noble dependence.

"Fear not, Iruma-sama!" Alice declared, puffing out his chest.

"No common demon here will dare sully your presence!"

Their homeroom teacher was none other than Naberius Kalego, a stern, perpetually annoyed demon known for his immense power and low tolerance for nonsense. Kalego's aura alone was enough to make Iruma instinctively take a step back

"Welcome," Kalego growled, his voice dry and laced with contempt,

"to the Misfit Class. You are here because the school has deemed you too chaotic, too weak, or too problematic for a normal curriculum."

He paused, his eyes settling on Iruma.

"And you, Suzuki. The infamous student who cursed himself on the stage. You have the distinct honor of participating in your first class activity: a Familiar Summoning."

Iruma froze.

Familiar Summoning? His father had never mentioned this! It was a core tenet of demon magic, and Iruma, fearing the summoning would reveal his human scent or, worse, his overwhelming demonic heritage, felt panic bubble up.

Alice, ever the loyal vassal, immediately protested.

"Sensei! Iruma-sama should not be subjected to such a crass exercise! He should be allowed to summon when his power is fully matured!"

Kalego simply ignored him.

"Come forward, Suzuki. Now."

Iruma had no choice. He walked to the center of the room, pulled out the grimoire, and began the chant, his voice shaking.

He tried to suppress his magical power, to keep the ritual small and contained. But his half-demon heritage was a tumultuous mix.

The human anxiety about the ritual was clashing with the inherent, immense demonic power of Delkira's bloodline, creating a volatile surge of magic.

The summoning circle exploded with a blinding violet light, a much more intense surge than was normal.

When the smoke cleared, standing before Iruma was not a monstrous beast or a small, loyal creature.

It was a tall, furious-looking demon with dark hair and a permanent scowl.

It was Kalego-sensei.

Kalego, eyes wide with horror, was trapped in the form of Iruma's familiar. He wore a tiny, ridiculous pink scarf, and a small, magical contract band was wrapped tightly around his neck.

The entire Misfit Class, including the perpetually furious Alice, fell into a state of stunned, bewildered silence. Iruma, mortified, had accidentally enslaved his homeroom teacher as his familiar.

The sight of the powerful Kalego-sensei in a tiny, pink scarf, utterly at the mercy of the "weak" human-raised boy, was too much for Delkira.

He had been secretly watching the lesson from a nearby observation window. When he saw his son, out of pure, panicked power, turn his powerful teacher into a familiar, a silent, uproarious laugh shook his entire invisible form. It was a perfect, accidental display of his son's immense, yet utterly clumsy, power.

That evening, Iruma recounted the entire day's events to his father and Grandpa Sullivan.

"And then," Iruma finished, burying his face in his hands,

"I accidentally made Kalego-sensei my familiar! He's so angry! I'm going to be eaten!"

Sullivan was practically floating, his laughter echoing around the room.

"The Demon King's son enslaves his teacher on the first day! It's a bold statement, my prince! A beautiful demonstration of your inherited power!"

Delkira, wiping tears of silent, invisible laughter from his eyes, just looked at his bewildered son.

"Iruma," he managed to say, his voice strained from holding back a full roar of laughter,

"your mother always said that the truly powerful find unique ways to solve problems. And son, you certainly found a unique way to handle your homeroom teacher."

Iruma simply sighed, realizing that his life in the Demon World was going to be anything but quiet.
