Chapter 4 - Chapter IV — Shadows Beneath the Light

Five years had passed since Fujita Giono rebuilt Earth from the ashes of war. His city, New Solaria, shone like a jewel in the dark—bright towers, green gardens, and clean air that no one had breathed in years. People smiled again. Children played in the streets. It felt like peace had finally come back.

But Fujita didn't trust peace. He had seen how fast it could break.

His closest friend, Kinyu Kioski, often stood by him, watching the sky with worry. Kinyu was bold, always joking, but sharp when it mattered. "You built paradise," he said once. "But paradise never lasts. Not when the past still remembers us."

Fujita said nothing. He only nodded. Deep down, he knew Kinyu was right.

Another man, Dr. Oton Pris, was the mind behind Earth's recovery. He was a scientist who had survived the war by hiding deep underground. With his knowledge, they built energy plants, rebuilt machines, and even repaired broken satellites. People said that without Dr. Pris, there would be no New Solaria.

But one night, those same satellites caught a strange signal—soft at first, then stronger. At first, it looked like noise. Then, Pris decoded it. The message was short, but clear:

> "Reconstruction complete. Return to origin. The cycle continues."

The signal came from Controval-3.

Fujita stared at the glowing hologram of the enemy planet. It was still scarred from the old war—but alive. "They're rebuilding," he said quietly.

Kinyu slammed his hand on the table. "Then they're coming back."

For days, people in New Solaria argued. Some wanted to prepare for battle. Others hoped to talk and make peace. Dr. Pris said they should wait—learn more before acting. But Fujita couldn't ignore the threat.

So, he started something in secret.

A plan called Operation Dawnfire.

If Controval-3 attacked, Earth wouldn't just defend itself this time. It would strike first.

Fujita walked through the underground hangar where new ships were being built. The air was hot with the smell of fuel and metal. Kinyu walked beside him, silent. Dr. Pris soon followed, holding a datapad, his face pale.

"If you go through with this," Pris said, "everything we built could fall apart again."

Fujita looked at him. "Then we'll rebuild"
