Chapter 46 - A tale as old as

Against the massive wood and stone walls of the village, the child looked small. Even the guards were half the height of the village walls.

"Please follow me," the boy said before darting off. We hurried behind the boy.

The tribal community looked more like a military stronghold than an ancient village. Twelve foot high walls made of a combination of wooded posts, stone and mud loomed over us and surrounded the town.

"Are all Moanchan tribes like this?" I asked Ocello. He shook his head.

"None of the outsiders mentioned any of this," he whispered. As we passed under the arch of the gate, I could see that there were a lot of people who looked to carry weapons. It was jarring after having lived in Bena village where even hunting was done in beast form.

"It is like they are preparing for war." The boy led us passed the where the guards were stationed.
