Chapter 54 - Superman

Sigurd looked toward the city from the top floor of the high-rise building.

"Why the hell does this feeling grow more intense when I don't even have any connection with this world?"

He had been in this world for more than a week but still could not see why it drew him in.

Sigurd left the building and walked toward a café opposite an archaeological site. He ordered coffee and sat alone, watching the old structure with interest.

"This place might have something to do with what's coming next."

Just as he was observing quietly, he suddenly sensed someone standing behind him.

Sigurd turned his head to see a woman standing there.

"Can I help you, miss?"

She did not speak at first but sat opposite him. Then she said,

"You Asgardians shouldn't be coming to Earth. Didn't your All-Father tell you that?"

Sigurd, lost in his own thoughts, had hardly noticed her, but her words finally drew his focus.

"Oh? There are people who would stop an Asgardian from coming to Midgard?"

He looked at the woman.

"Tell me, Amazonian, why should I care about other people's rules?"

Hearing Sigurd's words, she grew angry but glanced at their surroundings and kept her voice low.

"Asgardian, don't forget even your prince Thor was defeated. I don't understand where you get your confidence."

Sigurd looked slightly surprised to hear Thor had been defeated but still did not take it seriously.

"Oh? Who defeated that idiot?" He thought to himself, This fool is always getting hammered at first.

Hearing Sigurd's remark, she was taken aback and sensed the person before her might be dangerous.

"I defeated him. Aren't you afraid Odin will punish you for calling Thor an idiot?"

Sigurd laughed, then looked at her.

"No, he certainly won't. But who are you? I should at least know your name."

She studied Sigurd, who seemed completely at ease, as if nothing concerned him.

"My name is Diana, Princess of Themyscira. Who are you?"

Sigurd looked at Diana, reminded strongly of Hippolyta when he had first met her in his world.

"My name is Sigurd Borson. Are you related to Hippolyta, or are you her sister?"

Diana watched Sigurd closely when he asked this.

"Hippolyta is Queen of Themyscira, and she is my mother."

Hearing her words, Sigurd, who had just taken a sip of coffee, suddenly coughed.

Before he could inquire further, Lucifer walked over.

"Sigurd, you're quite free. You didn't tell Hippolyta about your trip. When I went to inform her, she was furious."

Diana, who had been about to ask how he knew her mother, suddenly fixed an intense gaze on both men.

"How do you both know my mother? Did she send you here?"

Lucifer, who had been focused on Sigurd, finally noticed the woman sitting across from him.

"Let me introduce myself—Lucifer Morningstar. And what shall I call you, beauty?"

Sigurd spoke up quickly.

"Lucifer, mind your tone. This is Diana Prince, daughter of Hippolyta."

Diana studied both of them, noticing Sigurd's sudden shift in demeanor.

Lucifer looked at Diana, then at Sigurd, and shook his head.

"I don't want to interrupt your family reunion, but Hippolyta told me she might be pregnant. She asked me to inform you."

Hearing this, Sigurd felt a surge of emotion for the first time in thousands of years.

"Lucifer, you truly are a friend. You've brought me wonderful news."

Diana did not fully understand what was happening but remained silent, waiting.

Lucifer looked at Sigurd.

"I know you're happy, but I think you should go to her."

Sigurd suddenly felt torn. If he left now, he knew something terrible might happen in this world, but Hippolyta's pregnancy was also deeply important.

Lucifer and Diana both watched Sigurd, unsure what he was thinking.

Finally, Lucifer spoke.

"Why are you still hesitating?"

Sigurd sighed and looked at Lucifer.

"I have a feeling there is something here that could destroy this world, and it has some connection to me. If I leave, it could be dangerous for other universes as well."

Hearing Sigurd's words, Diana grew impatient. She wanted to understand their origins.

"What are you two talking about? Can you please explain?"

Sigurd looked at Diana. Seeing her, he felt sure the child Hippolyta would bear would resemble her but with different powers.

"Child, listen carefully. If you learn about us, your worldview may change completely. If you still wish to know, I will explain. If not, that's alright too."

Diana looked at them and nodded, wanting to understand.

Sigurd looked at her and explained his and Lucifer's origins, how he met her mother in another world, and the existence of different universes and timelines.

Diana looked at Sigurd with unreadable emotions. She did not know how to process such revelations.

Just as they were speaking, a loud noise drew their attention toward the sound.

Sigurd looked to see fire erupting from a building.

"Humans are a unique species. They always create problems for themselves and then scramble for solutions."

Lucifer shook his head.

"I don't understand them either, but they are certainly entertaining."

As they were talking, a humanoid figure flew across the sky.

Sigurd watched the flying figure.

"So, that's Superman."
