Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 West's Code

After half a day of hard work, Dumpling successfully completed the production line modification.

Then Chris found Mayor West again and informed him of his plan, asking him to prepare for promotional activities and to distribute goods outside Rhode Island.

Because as the proportion of dragon blood potion decreased, the daily output had reached eight million bottles, eight times more than before.

However, to establish his own base, Chris still had Dumpling keep a production line with a one-ten-thousandth ratio to supply his family and subordinates.

"How much disposable capital is in the account now?"

Mayor West, who was making new plans, heard Chris ask about the accounts and immediately pulled out a manual, which detailed all the income and expenses since the factory started, even including Brian's payroll.

"From sales until now, excluding the dividends for Megan and me, and necessary expenses, you personally have eight million US dollars at your disposal. Without affecting normal production, I can allocate two million dollars."

Chris took the manual and looked at the various expenditures, realizing that his Uncle was quite honest and hadn't tampered with anything.

Chris glanced at Mayor West with slight surprise and noticed that the other party's eyes were evasive, showing signs of insecurity.

This made Chris scrutinize Mayor West. Could there be some special item he hadn't discovered in there?

But Chris carefully compared it again, using his computer-like brain to check each item, and found no problems.

Mayor West seemed to notice the change in Chris's gaze, sighed, and said, "The accounts are fine. I just want to know when you can give me my dividend. That 1.3 million is what I deserve. You're not going to renege, are you?"

"Huh?" Chris suddenly looked up, staring at Mayor West with confusion.

The factory's funds had always been handled by Mayor West, and Chris had assumed he had already taken his share.

But now, hearing what he said, this guy hadn't randomly withdrawn money from the factory, and had even strictly adhered to the rules and regulations.

This was truly nothing like Mayor West in Chris's impression.

As if seeing the confusion in Chris's eyes, Mayor West smiled and said, "The money I squander is all state government appropriations. It's just sitting there anyway, so I might as well use it to build some fun things.

But the money in the factory is all my legitimately earned dividends, so of course I have to get it through proper channels, otherwise it would be a violation of procedures."

Hearing his explanation, Chris looked at him speechlessly, not expecting that his Uncle had his own way of doing things!

"Then you might as well spend the state government's appropriations on public welfare projects, like bus driver rest stops. That way, citizens would be even more grateful to you."

Chris suddenly remembered what the driver said when he took the bus, and immediately made a suggestion to Mayor West.

Unexpectedly, upon hearing Chris say this, Mayor West laughed heartily, "Do you know the story of 'not fearing scarcity, but inequality'? If I spend money on bus driver rest stops, then should I invest in fire stations, hospitals, post offices, police stations, welfare homes, and so on?"

"State government appropriations are limited, but the funds needed for public welfare construction are infinite. As soon as I open a loophole, endless applications will await me. So, to avoid such trouble, I might as well use that little money to create some fun things."

"This..." Chris was speechless. He knew what the other party said was sophistry, but he really didn't know how to refute it.

After all, Chris had never been involved in politics and didn't know how to mobilize the public's enthusiasm.

If he were the Mayor, his idea would be to ask Dumpling for help, have him create some intelligent robots to directly replace those public welfare jobs, and then deal with other public welfare issues.

However, Chris also knew that this was too naive, which is why he was preparing to establish his own base, to better handle various public welfare issues in the future.

But right now, he really couldn't offer Mayor West any advice.

However, Mayor West saw Chris's troubled expression and guessed that there might be other hidden reasons for building bus driver rest stops, so he said, "Of course, there are other ways to spend money on public welfare facilities without making things difficult for me."

"What?" Hearing that there was a solution to the problem, Chris became curious.

"Did you become the student council president?"

Seeing Chris nod in confirmation, Mayor West was not surprised. After all, the school was named after him, and he still paid attention to the major and minor events happening there.

"So, as long as you unite the students to launch an initiative, I can then approve funds for the bus driver rest stops, to be used as special rectification funds."

"Is it that simple?" Chris asked in surprise.

"It's that simple!" Mayor West's eyes were firm.

What Mayor West didn't realize, however, was that Chris's surprise stemmed from the fact that this method was the very excuse he had initially used to fool that driver.

But he never expected that the random words he had blurted out at the time would actually be useful.

After confirming that he could fulfill his small wish from back then, Chris nodded and said, "Okay, after I take office next semester, I'll gather my classmates to launch an initiative."

"That's up to you. Actually, you can also gather those students to launch an initiative now. As soon as I see it on TV, I'll approve the money immediately."

As long as it didn't cause him trouble, Mayor West was quite willing to do his nephew a favor.

Of course, this was certainly not because his father-in-law had told him to.

Seeing that the miscellaneous matters were discussed, Mayor West prepared to talk about serious business, and he said with a serious expression, "So, can I have my 1.3 million?"

Seeing Mayor West's rapid change of expression, Chris immediately said speechlessly, "How about this, you make a plan to distribute dividends to all shareholders semi-monthly. My share and Stewie's share will be together. You should be able to find my account number, right?"

Chris had a bank card, but it was opened by the original owner, and he himself had hardly ever used it, so he had no idea what the account number was.

But fortunately, Mayor West was the Mayor of Quahog, and as long as it was a resident of Quahog, it was very easy for him to investigate their private information.

Hearing Chris's arrangement, Mayor West nodded with a joyful expression, as it had almost been half a month since the factory started production.

"So, do you still want to take the money now?"

Chris thought about his plan and realized that he still needed Mayor West's help, so he directly instructed, "This money is for investment. I need your help to handle the qualifications for a gym and to select a location."

"No problem. Should it be under Debrad's name?" Mayor West took out paper and pen and began to record Chris's requirements.

"Of course, this is an important part of my business blueprint. I need this thing to help me build influence!"

Then Chris told Mayor West his plan and asked him for his advice.
