I fixed my gaze on Chaim as he relayed Chandler's concerns, finding myself nodding in agreement with the assessment.
"We should warn Julia about what happens when she transfers her position to Thane. I doubt anyone's bothered to explain that once she hands it over, he keeps it permanently, even if he initially refuses her offer," Chaim stated.
Julia wasn't exactly my favorite person in the Kingdom, but Chaim had a point. The woman deserved to understand the full weight of her decision before making a choice that would define the rest of her existence.
"Let's grab lunch. I'm ready for this entire day to be behind us. It's time we reclaim control and demonstrate to every Shifter in this Kingdom that their welfare comes first," I declared, striding toward the exit.
