Garcia' POV
The sound of someone calling my name drifts through my sleepy haze, gentle and familiar. It takes me several moments to realize that Atticus is still connected on the video call from the night before.
"Did you get any sleep at all?" I ask, locating my phone and settling my head against Collin's chest while peering at the screen.
"I managed to sleep better than I thought I would. Having you there in the background helped, though I'm not completely certain why. And no, I'm never testing that theory by being away from you again." His response carries a weight that makes my heart flutter.
A smile spreads across my face as I understand his meaning. He despised being separated from me and has no intention of allowing it to happen again. We keep our voices low to avoid disturbing Collin's sleep. The way both of them make me feel overwhelms me with gratitude for finding this second connection.
