Chapter 38 - Chapter 36

Danzo, hearing Mito's declaration, started yelling, "How impudent you would willingly keep someone who could heal our forces with just a drop of blood from doing that." Donzo said his teeth gnashing angrily.

He was really regretting not fighting for Hiruko harder when he had the chance. What he wouldn't give to possess a boy like that.

Homura, pushing his glasses further up the bridge of his nose, began to speak. "Forgive me, Lady Mito, but Danzo is right. It's obvious from the fact Lord Ken is sitting before us that Hiruko could heal decade-old wounds, and his healing power is far stronger than the Uzumaki's healing bite. Why would you allow Lord Ken to benefit but not the rest of the village?"

Mito, taking a breath in an attempt to quell her growing anger, said with a hint of irritation, "Because Hiruko chose to heal Ken of his own accord."

Danzo, speaking up once again, said, "If that's the case, allow me to talk to him and convince him to use his abilities for the greater good; maybe he would even wish to join Root afterwards." Danzo said with a slight smirk.

At this remark, Hiruzen and the other two advisors looked at him as if he was crazy; trying to suggest to Mito that Hiruko use his abilities for Konoha was already pushing it.

But suggesting he join the darkness of Konoha and for Danzo to 'talk to him' is like signing your death warrant.

At this, Mito's face noticeably darkened. "I think you guys forget the only reason you're allowed to sit in those seats is due to me." Mito said her aura was taking on an orange hue.

Hiruzen, Danzo, Homura, Koharu, and the Hyuga elder all noticeably tensed up, instinctively taking on an offensive stance.

Ken, sighing, seeing this situation was spiraling out of control and they were getting away from the root of the problem, released his bloodlust, directing it toward the opposition and Mito.

Everyone but Mito sensed it and felt as if a wild beast was ready to pounce on them and tear them to shreds, causing them to shrink back into their seats.

As the pressure continued, bloody images of their deaths appeared again and again as they fought the urge to throw up. After a few tense moments Ken withdrew his pressure, and everyone was left shaking from the impression it left.

Ken, watching this, looked puzzled. 'What's wrong with them? I held back a lot. Tsk, this generation is to soft' Ken thought as he glanced at Mito, who was unaffected by his pressure, as she still had a fierce expression.

Arata, seeing this, walked to his mom, placing a hand on her shoulder, which slightly calmed Mito down as she withdrew her pressure.

Taking a deep breath, Mito said once again, "No one is to touch Hiruko or try to convince him to heal anyone he doesn't want to." Mito said her eyes primarily on Danzo, she could sense the growing darkness in his heart.

"And no knowledge of this ability is to be shared under any circumstances," she added on turning to look at the Hyuga elder, who could now not even look her in his eyes. Mito has barely interacted in village affairs nor wars for decades causing him to forget just how scary this woman is.

"Is there anything you wish to say?" Mito said, directing it at the Hyuga elder.

The elder, flinching slightly at her gaze, said politely, "We, the Hyuga, ask that knowledge of Ikki's attack not be shared with anyone and that you turn him over to us." the man said

Mito, frowning slightly, said, "The first part is doable, but as for the second part, it is not. That boy was shown to have injuries only possible by your clan's gentle fist. And since it was my son who saved and placed him under the care of the Senju, it's our job to look into this situation… deeply."

At these words the hyga elder began to sweat profusely. No matter what, the village couldn't look into that boy. If the contents of his background got out…

"What is it you want, Lady Mito?" The elder said, slightly annoyed at the fact he had no choice but to comply.

Mito, seeing this, smiled, ignoring the elders' clear displeasure with her.

"It's simple: the boy stays under the protection of the Senju. Since Hiruk saved him, we'll leave the specifics up to him. The boy will abandon the Hyuga name and sever all ties, and of course this incident will not be uttered again, and the Senju won't look into this matter either." Mito said leaving little room for argument

Seeing he was left with little to no choice, the elder reluctantly agreed.

Whatever happened in that alleyway, it seemed the Hyuga were going to great lengths to hide it.

Mito, seeing this was now resolved, turned back to Hiruzen and the others. At her gaze, the four noticeably flinched.

"Now monkey, let's leave this here, and make sure to remember all these things. Whether it be the Hokage title or your precious Root Donzo, all of it can be gone with a simple snap of my fingers." Mito said, glaring at the group, who could only gulp in response.

Mito didn't usually like doing things like this; like her husband, she thought the village was in the hands of the new generation, and as a person from decades ago, she had no need to intervene.

But those two needed to remember she was still Mito Uzumaki, and Hiruko was her son. She was still the woman who would make entire armies tremble at the mention of her name.

As Mito left the Hokage building, Dando exploded, "You've grown too soft, Hiruzen; you dare let that woman speak to you like that." Dando asked, irritated by Hiruzen's lack of action.

"I suggest you shut up, Danzo. Not only is that Lord Hashirama's wife, the jinchuriki of the nine tails, and the strongest person in the village currently, but she is also listening to every word that comes out of your mouth," Hiruzen said solemnly, a frown playing on his face.

The number one thing everyone close to Mito Uzumaki knew was that woman headed all. Nothing, and he meant nothing, escaped her ears, for this village was hers.

Hiruzen was only in charge because she allowed it.

Mito, walking down the streets of Konoha as she just exited the Hokage building, slightly smiled.

'Oh monkey, you know me so well.' Mito thought as she continued walking.
