Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

Leah POV

I stared I awe when I arrived at the venue. The party was luxurious and grand, my sister went all out while planning her engagement party.

I walked in feeling very proud of my sister, she's been bragging non stop about her super hot and charming boyfriend and now he's finally her fiance.

I took a glass of champagne from a waiter passing by and got myself ready to enjoy the party.

She made sure to invite all her friends and of course dad's business associates and their children.

I looked around, taking in the beauty of the interior whilst searching for my sister's figure.

I finally found her, she was dressed in a bright sparling ball gown, her diamond necklace and ring, glittering under the artificial lights from the chandeliers didn't go unnoticed. She looked like an angel. She's always been obsessed with looking like a princess and I guess she finally did it.

I waved at her to get her attention and her smile grew even more once she saw me.

She pulled me into a long and tight hug and I felt so happy for her that she was finally getting the man of her dreams.

"After months nagging and annoying all of us, you're finally getting engaged, congratulations!" I teased her and she giggled.

She was grinning from ear to ear, her blue eyes sparkling. From a quick glance, everyone could tell she was very happy and excited.

"I'm so glad you could make it, Leah! Thank you so much for coming!" She hugs me again. "Come with me while I introduce you to him!" She pulled me along and I almost tripped on my silhouettes but she didn't notice.

I giggled at how absent minded she was being and just focusing on her excitement. She is a cute and bubbly woman, I love her to death and I understand why he proposed, who wouldn't love her?

We stopped at a table where two elderly man and woman sat while the rest hung around talking to each other. They all lit up once we arrived.

"Let me introduce you to my sister, Leah!" Vanessa introduced me to everyone then took my hand and step towards the elderly couple sitting. They were elegantly dressed, the sheen on their clothes reveals the high quality of their fabric. They were simply dressed but their elegance was undeniable.

"Leah, this is Mr and Mrs Silvenia, the elders in the family and Ace's grandparents," She introduced the couple and I shook their hands, a faint smile on my lips.

"Nice to meet you," I politely greeted them and they did the same.

She introduced me to other family members who were present then until it was time to introduce her fiance and I froze when I saw who it was.

My legs began to lag and I felt weak.

The man in the center, the one we were walking to was someone I recognized all too well.

He was the stranger I had a drunken one night stand with, a memory I wished to forget and I prayed never to see him again but unfortunately life had other plans.

As we walked, I silently prayed he wasn't my sister's fiance but life was cruel to me.

"Leah, meet my fiance and the love of my life, Ace Silvenia!" She introduced us, "Ace meet my sister that I've been telling you about."

I wished the ground would swallow me when I saw the recognition flash through his eyes.

Why of all people who could be my sister's fiance, it had to be him?

Not only did I cheat on my lovely boyfriend but I did it with my sister's fiance?

Why was he sleeping around when he had a fiance?

"Hello," I managed to say, "Nic…ce to m…meet you." I quickly shook his hand and pulled away.

Vanessa leaned closer to my ears and whispered, "isn't he handsome and incredible hot?"

I almost choked on air when she asked me that. I didn't know how to respond and managed a hmm mmm then excused myself.

Memories of our passionate night together flashed in my head and I couldn't help but feel disgusted by myself.

Ace was indeed handsome and hot, not only was his physique under those layers of fabrics was top notch, he also knows how to drive someone crazy with it.

I could still feel his big strong hands caressing my breast and roaming around my body teasingly till this moment.

I was walking down the long hallway, trying to find the bathroom from the giant, huge pillars every five feet away from each other.

I was spiraling and I need to calm down and think about my boyfriend who doesn't deserve me thinking about another man like that when a strong hand grabbed my arm.

His touch was familiar, like it was engraved on my body so I immediately knew who it was without turning around but I did anyways and saw Ace, my sister's fiance.

What was he going here? Why did he come after me? Was my sister with him?

Those questions immediately flooded my thoughts but before I could speak, he did first.

"It really is you!" He exclaimed, a happy smile spread across his face and he pulled my into his arms and wrapped his arm around my waist.

My face was flushed and I couldn't process what was happening quickly, my mind still on the fact that his strong hands were on my waist, holding me protectively against him.

"Do you have any idea how long I looked for you?" He pressed his lips on mine, engulfing me in a passionate kiss, caressed my cheeks and tried to make me part my teeth.

He had no intentions of stopping with just a quick kiss and I admittedly enjoyed it but quickly regained my senses when I remembered my sister wasn't far away and anyone could walk in and see us like this.

I pushed him away and tried to calm my beating heart that kept accelerating, I could literally hear my heartbeat and feel the heat creeping up my cheeks.

"What are you doing?!" I whispered, my teeth were clenched tight and my brows were furrowed. I was seething.

"You are engaged to my sister! This is your and Vanessa's engagement party, how could you follow me here and kiss me?" as the words came out of my mouth, the more I was I disbelief someone could do this.

Maybe I was imagining things due to the shock I felt?

"Calm down, Leah," He smiled, "Your name is beautiful." He pulled my into his arms again and this time I couldn't pull away.

"Stop this!" I commanded but he didn't listen.

"I know what you're thinking right now but I can explain," the smile on his face was gone now, leaving only a sad look in his eyes as he stared at me, just a few inches away from my face. "I don't love your sister, I don't want to marry her. I'm only doing this due to the wishes of my grandmother. I love you, Leah. You're the one I want."

"I haven't stopped thinking about you and I want us to talk things through, please?" he sounded vulnerable and helpless but I can't let that sway me from doing the right thing, he's my sister's fiance and we both shouldn't have any other relationship no matter how baf he and her relationship is.

"No, Mr Ace. Please let me go, my sister must be looking for you."

He sighed and did as requested, "I won't stop Leah, I'll make you understand." He said before leaving.

I stared at his retreating back, conflicted on what to do about my predicament.
