Chapter 6 - Magic Enforcement Police

Right after we ate, the Magic Enforcement Police stormed into the apartment. Turned him into a black dog with his gold ring on his left paw due to being a third striker. A few minutes before the magic enforcement police lady, who looked like an angel in a police uniform mixed with a mafia enforcer as seen in mob films of the 1920s, was about to take my husband, I argued on his behalf like a lawyer in a negotiation, "Yes, I'm Alice Rosas, a No Mage. I saw him doing magic, but you can't take him because he's my husband." At first, she was confused by the notification because her records stated he was single, then she asked me, "Is this true?!"

I replied as I revealed the wedding ring on my left hand. "Yes, I've been married since last night." Then she asked Alexander the same question while comparing both of our wedding rings, "Is this true?!" Alexander answered while being chained up in his dog form, "It's true. I have been married to Alice since last night. Alice is my wife." She had a tone of curiosity and willingness to negotiate as she answered, "Actually, I'm in a good mood! I have a hot date tonight! I personally hate the idea of separating families, because it's messy and involves way too much paperwork that I don't want to deal with. So I will tell you what?! First, I need to change his status to married while adding you to the registry as his wife, but under one condition: I will come back in one year to test you on your magical knowledge and ability as a witch being a part of the magical world, even though you're technically not supposed to be because you're a No Mage. Your husband must train you as a witch, or else. Do you agree to the terms?" I replied and shook her hand in agreement, "I agree to the terms." She replies, "Alright, see you in a year." And under her breath, "Hello, hot date tonight!"The cop started heading out, but noticed she had forgotten to do something. "Oops! I almost forgot to change your husband back to human!" Quickly waved her hand, and instantly, my husband changed back to his human form. Katy was surprised at how brave I was as she replied, "Right on! You got a lot of balls, Alice! They're usually not willing to negotiate, especially with a No Mage." Then Alexander said, "A year is not a lot of time to make you a witch." I replied, "I was just joking when I accepted the agreement." Alexander spoke again, but more seriously than before, as if my joking around was a grave insult. "When you make a contract with anyone in the magical world, it's unbreakable! If you breach a contract, you may face severe consequences, including legal action and even imprisonment or death. Most lose a finger for disobeying a contract similar to the Yakuza's form of punishment for disrespect, but you did it with the Magical Enforcement Police! As a Third Striker, normally, they are put to death; now you as well, because you messed with the process of life and death!" I replied, now understanding the gravity of the situation, "Ok, where do we start?" He responded with an exhausted look on his face as he sat down, "Tomorrow, I have no desire to do it today. And you must be tired."
