Misaya stared blankly at the sudden change. A tall man stood with a katana, positioned between her and the Strange Creatures, exuding an indescribable aura of killing intent.
Unlike the knights and princes she had once fantasized about and admired, the one who appeared before her was merely a notoriously frivolous young man who used to tease children.
But, why?
The girl, whose mind was almost lost due to the malice emitted by the Strange Creatures, was confused, seemingly not understanding this scene.
"My dear little customer, although my last-minute appearance is quite dashing, now is not the time to be mesmerized."
Yalin turned and ruffled the girl's head, his sharp aura completely dissipating.
He had to admit, it felt incredibly good, like the pleasure of stroking a Cat, and it was worth rushing over at full speed.
A speed of three seconds per hundred meters, enjoying the feeling of flying.
"You!"
The familiar warmth on her head brought Misaya back to her senses, and she glared fiercely at this narcissistic man who deliberately took advantage of her.
"Now is not the time to be sulking, these guys are not easy to deal with."
Yalin said seriously after ruffling her hair a few more times.
He twisted his wrist and swung his sword, blocking a Strange Creature's claw attack, the katana instantly slashing across its throat, separating its head from its body.
When the next Strange Creature attacked Misaya, the katana suddenly turned and thrust backward, its tip piercing through the creature's heart and churning it into a mess. Upon realizing the Strange Creature could still move, he quickly changed tactics and severed its neck.
These monsters were most likely transformed from deceased humans, but both their speed and strength far exceeded what they had in life.
Besides that, they gave Yalin a strange sense of revulsion and distortion, which was quite unsettling.
If Yalin hadn't activated triple-speed mode, and if Yalin hadn't happened to know a bit of combat technique, he probably would have been a first blood offering this time.
One could only say that in an extraordinary world like type-moon, ordinary people really shouldn't meddle in the mysterious side's troubles, or their end would likely be very tragic.
For example, the two maids who had fainted earlier, if he hadn't arrived in time, they would probably have become food.
Misaya pursed her lips. She knew that she shouldn't interfere with him at this moment. If anything went wrong, both of them would die.
Besides... he saved her.
She looked up at Yalin's fighting posture.
He was still as unreliable as ever, but surprisingly dependable in battle.
In front of this man, the despair-inducing Strange (monsters) were no longer as terrifying as before. No monster could get past him to harm her.
He was like the loyal and steadfast knight from a picture book, inspiring trust.
What should have been a childlike fairy tale fantasy miraculously appeared before her.
When she realized this, the negative emotions forcibly accumulated in Misaya's mind by the Strange (monsters) largely dissipated.
She pursed her lips, her mind a mess.
Forget it, she would temporarily forgive this guy's rudeness.
As the future successor of the Everbright Manor, she was actually quite reasonable.
Yalin battle with the Strange (monsters) did not last too long, even though it also transcended human common sense. But he was clearly superior to these monsters.
The blade in his hand was like a butterfly dancing in the night, sending the restless souls of the dead back to their rightful places one by one.
A quarter of an hour later, the noisy roars completely ceased, and the park returned to silence, but without the previous eerie atmosphere.
Looking at the corpses and bloodstains on the cobblestone path and grass, Yalin silently mourned for a few seconds for the people who would have to clean up the mess.
However, it was not a big problem; everything could be explained by a versatile gas explosion.
"Little guest, the danger has been removed. Are you satisfied with this service?"
Yalin came before Misaya, smiling, and then gentleman (gentlemanly) extended his right hand to her.
The young girl looked at him silently, and after a few breaths, she handed over her small hand, using the pull to stand up.
If she continued to look so disheveled, it would damage the dignity of the Everbright Manor.
"You..."
Misaya had many confusions she wanted to ask. Was the young man in front of her a magician? Why did he pretend to be a bookstore owner? And why did he come to save her?
But the words hesitated on her lips.
She looked up at Yalin eyes, silent and thoughtful.
It was only after a few breaths that Yalin took his hand back: "Goodbye, little guest. The park's cleanup is up to you."
After speaking, he turned and walked away gracefully towards the bookstore.
Misaya was stunned, then learned through her familiar that her father was about to arrive at the park.
Looking at the gradually disappearing back, the young girl couldn't help but call out.
"My name is Misha Everbright Manor."
The young man waved his hand, indicating that he knew.
Ten seconds later, the head of the Everbright Manor rushed to the scene. Seeing that his daughter was fine, he breathed a sigh of relief, and the worry and anxiety on his face immediately turned into composure, avoiding being noticed by Misaya.
However, looking at the corpses all over the ground and his dazed daughter, he fell into confusion.
What happened here?
... "As expected of Type-Moon, the monsters are quite unique."
Yalin returned to the bookstore, satisfied with his eventful night.
Fighting, awesome!
He had even prepared a Chicago Typewriter and a Contender pistol just in case, but they weren't needed.
However, the aftermath was undoubtedly troublesome.
Leaving aside other things, the head of the Everbright Manor must have known about his existence as a "magician," and he wondered what actions they would take.
Even though he saved their daughter, Yalin made corresponding plans due to his suspicion of Type-Moon magicians' character.
"It's rare to do a good deed, don't be too disappointing."
Yalin muttered, then put it out of his mind.
At worst, he would ask Aeka for specific information about the Everbright Manor. If they were ill-intentioned and he couldn't defeat them, he would quickly say goodbye to Aeka and run away from Tokyo.
After he was strong enough, he would stage a Type-Moon version of the Dragon King's return... In the Sajyo household, Sajyo Aeka hummed happily, cheerfully preparing food.
Her sister, Sajyo Ayaka, six years younger than her, stayed by her side, curiously watching her.
Because the dishes Aeka was making at the moment were all from Eastern Continent, and they looked quite spicy, which obviously did not fit the Sajyo family's eating habits.
So, the answer was already obvious.
"Sister, are you going to Mr. A's bookstore next?"
Although it was a question, Ayaka's tone didn't contain much doubt.
Only that Mr. A could make her sister like this.
"That's right, Yalin-kun's eating habits are sometimes very irregular, so they must be corrected."
Aeka tapped her forehead, looking a little troubled, but the smile at the corner of her mouth remained bright.
