Asterion's eyes flickered open as he groggily woke up from his bed.
He checked the time on the clock, and it read '7:25am.'
He thought about the system he had obtained yesterday and quickly became excited to check it out.
But before that, he quickly got up and went to the washroom. He freshened up, brushed his teeth and took a bath.
Feeling fresh as the fatigue slipped away from his body, he sat on his bed as he opened the status screen.

He checked everything before finally arriving at his first doubt gnawing at his mind, "Hmm, what does it mean by '1' written after the Infinite Integration?"
But what he didn't expect was for the system to give him a reply before he could even finish his question.

He got shocked that the system was capable of making conversations with him, but he quickly came back to his senses as he remembered the pile of information his brain was flooded in yesterday.
It was too much but too less at the same time.
The information did tell him that this ability allowed him to integrate,
but it hadn't explained what were the benefits or how much change would it have on him on a mental and physical level.
But he stopped worrying about it right now, as the system was capable of talking with him.
So he quickly asked the details of the ability, to which the system responded-
[The physical and mental changes depends on the type of being the host integrates with. The duration for which the host integrates depends on the amount of powers he draws forth from the integration.]
'Well, that answers some of my questions. So should I try integrating with one?'
But he shook his head just as quickly that thought formed in his mind.
It was because their house was too small, and opening the door of his small room leads directly to the living room where the kitchen was present.
So if the integration caused too much changes, then he didn't know how he would explain that to his mother.
"And there's also the case with the city station. I need to go and give the details of my awakening to them."
He sighed at the inconveniences he had to face but he had read a lot about the other thirteen worlds and could surely make up a story about his awakening.
Clearly, telling anyone about the fact that he had gone to a completely different world unexplored by the humans would surely make him a pig waiting to be chopped by the authorities for certain information.
He got up from his bed and went to have breakfast with his mother.
"Good morning, Aster. Come sit and have breakfast; I have made your favourite dishes."
His mother called out to him in a sweet voice as she saw Asterion coming out his room.
"Good morning, Mom, thanks for the breakfast."
He replied with a lovely smile as he thought about how worried her mother was for him.
He ate his breakfast at a normal pace as he suddenly remembered that it was Sunday and he had to meet his friends.
The thought of meeting a certain someone made a smile appear on his face.
He finished his breakfast, told his mother he was going to meet his friends, and also talked about filling the report in the city station as he took off from home.
After about 15 minutes of walking in a certain direction, he finally saw the cafe where they usually met together.
He opened the doors which made a small bell above the door which ring with a quiet chime.
The sound attracted the eyes of some people, while some continued chatting or eating without paying attention.
He ignored everyone as his eyes fell on the 3rd table to his left as he found three people sitting there.
Seeing Asterion, one of them called out and waved at him.
He took one of the empty seats, and as he was about to talk to them, Danny beat him to it as he asked,
"Hey, I heard you awakened, how was it? Did you face anything difficult? And what's with your damn white hair? If you faced difficulty in fight, remember to look at my training routine I sent you."
He said as he flexed his muscles.
"Yeah, yeah. And don't show off your muscles in a cafe, dude. Its weird. And my hair changed during the awakening, pretty long story which you probably won't like to hear."
Asterion replied while rolling his eyes with a subtle smile on his face.
Danny just huffed and didn't bother replying.
What he said wasn't wrong, as Daniel, aka Danny, did looked like a buffed up kid; as his size was even bigger than some gym freaks.
Even right now, some people were sneaking glances at their table just because of his built.
"Were you alright, Asterion?" Asked Selena, his girlfriend, with worry flickering on her brows.
Petite and graceful, she was just over five feet tall.
Her brown hair falling in loose waves across her face which was lit by gentle black eyes that always seemed to steady Asterion.
Asterion just smiled at her question and said, "Don't worry, I am alright and my task for the awakening was pretty easy."
But was he really fine? He didn't know.
His thoughts shifted to the chase in the forest as he membered the betrayal he had faced.
Selena didn't notice the subtle hesitation on his face and sighed in relief that Asterion was safe.
Even if one appeared fine on the outside, the awakening was known for destroying many people mentally, making them human dolls without emotions.
"Is he still sleeping? Dude, even Asterion arrived; atleast wake up right now."
Everyone's eyes fell on the fourth figure, who was still sleeping with his head down, despite them talking right beside him.
This was Ryan, and sleeping was clearly one of his favorite pastimes.
"Uhh... what do you want, you freak? Just let me get a quick nap if all you guys are doing is wasting time.
Oh, Asterion, are you alright? Wow, your hair looks nice, maybe I should get mine dyed too."
Ryan asked in his usual lazy voice.
But the concern in his words couldn't be hidden from them, as they had know him for more than half of his life.
"Didn't he just said he was alright, he will get tired by replying the same thing everytime, man... just pay attention, please."
Danny spoke in a slightly irritated tone to the lazy bum Ryan.
Asterion and Selena laughed at his words, while Ryan didn't even bother replying to him.
After talking for around an hour about their academy orientation, which will take place three days later, and some other not-so-important stuff,
Ryan was the first to get up and leave, as he had to go home for some work.
Danny was the one who went together with him to his home, as sending him alone in his half-awake state could bring nothing short than a disaster.
Asterion and Selena too separated after exchanging exchanging some sweet words and goodbyes with a lovely smile on their faces.
And finally, Asterion set off toward the city station.
His mind constantly repeating the fabricated lines he had thought, to not slip away even a little bit during the investigation.
