Kan greeted the Grandmother warmly and mentioned that Hav hadn't been answering her calls. Hearing this, the Grandmother walked over and lightly smacked Hav, scolding him for ignoring his senior. Hav, hearing the voice on the other end, immediately realized who it was.
The Grandmother ordered Hav to call kan back right then and there. Hav didn't dare argue with her. As the Grandmother eavesdropped, she realized kan wanted Hav to show her where Ree's house was in Siem Reap. Seeing an opportunity to get her grandson away from his "bad crowd" and interested in his studies and girls, she ordered Hav to go to Siem Reap immediately to take kan to see Ree.
Hav was incredibly annoyed. Before leaving, he muttered, "Grandmother, just wait and see when this childish game ends." The Grandmother didn't care; she just wanted him to go.
By the next morning, Hav arrived in Siem Reap. Kan and Sina high-fived, their plan a total success. Kan had spent the night calling Hav repeatedly just to annoy him, enjoying his frustration.
During the day, they visited the temples. Kan looked at photos of herself but didn't dare post them yet; she only sent them to siv and Hana. Sina, however, had no reason to be shy. She posted a photo of her "family" trip. Some students who had issues with her commented mockingly: "Why did you leave your poor grandmother home alone?" Sina saw the comments and quickly hid her phone, but kan had already noticed. She apologized for looking, but Sina gave a small, secret smile, thinking kan couldn't hide her curious expression.
Later, as they lay in bed, both unable to sleep, Sina asked: "Senior, what do you think about Sara and tuna, that 10th grader?"
Kan was stunned. Does Sina know? She wondered. Tuna told me not to tell anyone! Sina smirked. "You don't have to hide it. I suspect more than that. I know tuna is being bullied by Sara."
Kan gasped but quickly covered her mouth. "How do you know?" "If I want to know something, I investigate until I do," Sina replied. "I want to break Sara's pride. She isn't as good as she looks on the outside. My grades dropped recently, and I've never been like that."
Kan sighed, saying people aren't always perfect. But Sina interrupted, "I know am i. And on that day, even I was confused by my own results." kan asked what happened, but Sina suddenly turned away. "Forget it, I'm sleepy. We have to meet Hav tomorrow." kan wondered: Did Sina realize I was getting too curious and changed the subject on purpose?
The next morning, kan told Auntie ja and her father that she wanted to experience traveling "youth-style" for a day. She knew the way and told them not to worry. Her dad and Auntie Ja agreed, as they planned to visit the zoo near Kbal Spean. Kan dragged san along as an excuse.
They took a tuk-tuk to the bus station and found Hav. Kan shouted his name, making Hav visibly displeased. San looked at Kan's smile and then stared at Hav. It was a face-off: The Grade 11 "Big Boss" vs. The Soccer Goalie/Fighter. On the tuk-tuk, kan and Sina talked non-stop. Grandmother called Hav to check if he arrived. He answered coldly. Kan scolded him, "Why are you so rude? Talk to Grandmother properly!"
Grandmother told Hav to take them sightseeing for the morning before going to Ree's house. Hav immediately muted the phone. Kan, having overheard, was about to agree, but Hav cut her off, pretending to agree with Grandmother and suggesting places to go. Kan realized he was trying to use reverse psychology on her thinking that if he suggested it, she would say no. She smiled. "You don't know me well enough, Hav. I agree!"
They ate breakfast at Phsar kraom market. Kan noticed san was unusually quiet, just staring at the scenery, even though he had been talkative before Hav arrived. When kan tried to introduce them, San cut her off: "I already know him." He then went back to his porridge, making kan raise an eyebrow.
Hav, sensing San's jealousy, asked: "What exactly are you two to each other?" San and Hav stared each other down. Kan quickly said, "San is my childhood friend," smiling at San. San reached out, pinched her cheek to shut her up, and told her to stop smiling.
They reached Angkor Wat temple. Kan and Sina changed into traditional Khmer costumes of chenla period (Sampot and Sbai). They looked stunning and took photos for each other, sending them to Siv and Hana.
Later, they went to Phnom Kulen Waterfall. It was beautiful and cool. They changed again, this time into ethnic minority style clothing: multicolored fabrics wrapped around the chest, cloths over the shoulders, and short skirts above the knee, accessorized with floral necklaces, bracelets, and crowns. They looked like beautiful highland girls.
They rented a hut to eat together. Kan video-called Grandmother to tell her Hav was being a great guide. She also sent photos to her friends, teasing them until Siv and Hana were "furious" with jealousy.
As evening fell, they headed to Ree's house. It was in the city, near the school that san had stared at earlier. San looked confused by the road. When they arrived, his confusion turned into shock Ree's house was right next to his own!
"Did Ree always live here?" San asked. Hav replied, "No, Ree's parents just bought this house recently maby 3month"
As they were about to ring the bell, the gate of the house next door opened. A woman in work clothes came out to take out the trash. She glanced at them, then froze.
"San?"
San was caught. He turned and gave a strained smile. Kan looked at him, wanting an explanation, but there was no time. The woman walked over. The kids greeted her politely. The woman introduced herself as San's mother (Auntie Ran). Her eyes looked like she wanted to "eat San alive" for coming home without telling her!
Kan exclaimed, "Auntie Ran! It's me, kan!" The woman thought for a moment until San clarified, "The neighbor from our old house." She remembered and was delighted, praising how beautiful kan had grown. She just smiled she was still shorter than San, after all!
Auntie Ran invited everyone into her house for dinner, mentioning that Ree's family had just gone out.
Inside San's house, Auntie Ran said San's father wouldn't be home as he was busy. She started cooking. Seeing the house was a bit messy since she just got home, kan and Sina immediately started helping her clean. Auntie Ran laughed, enjoying the sudden liveliness in her home.
She sent San and kan to go buy drinks and snacks. Sina stayed to help cook, and Hav, not knowing what else to do, was asked by Auntie Ran to set the table. Hav didn't refuse. That evening, they all worked together to prepare a warm group dinner.
