Chapter 5 - The Kiss and The Tension

Chapter 5

As the days went by, Sophia's behavior became increasingly erratic. She would often "accidentally" interrupt my meetings with Alexander, and would make snappy comments about my ideas in front of our colleagues.

Alexander, sensing the tension, pulled me aside one day. "Hey, Emily, I wanted to talk to you about Sophia," he said, his voice low and serious. "I think she's getting jealous of your success. I want you to know that I'm not going to let her sabotage you."

I smiled, feeling a surge of gratitude towards him. "Thanks, Alexander. I appreciate your support."

As we stood there, the tension between us was palpable. I could feel the electricity sparking between us, and I knew that I wasn't the only one who felt it.

Suddenly, Sophia appeared, her eyes flashing with anger. "Alexander, I need to talk to you about the marketing strategy," she said, her voice dripping with venom.

Alexander nodded, his expression cool. "I'll talk to you later, Emily," he said, his eyes lingering on mine.

As he walked away with Sophia, I felt a pang of jealousy. I knew it was ridiculous, but I couldn't help the way I felt.

The next day, Alexander asked me to meet him in his office. My heart racing, I nodded, wondering what he wanted.

When I arrived, he closed the door behind me and turned to me, his eyes intense. "Emily, I need to tell you something," he said, his voice low and husky. "I've been feeling something for you for a while now. I know it's unprofessional, but I can't help it."

My heart skipped a beat as he took a step closer to me. "Alexander, I..." I started, but he cut me off, his lips crashing down on mine.

The kiss was like nothing I had ever experienced before. It was like the world had melted away, and all that was left was us.

As we broke apart, gasping for air, I knew that my life was about to change forever.

As Alexander and I kissed, I felt like I was floating on air. I had never felt this way about anyone before, and I wasn't sure what to do.

Alexander, sensing my hesitation, pulled back and looked into my eyes. "Emily, I know this is sudden, but I can't help how I feel," he said, his voice low and husky.

I nodded, my heart racing. "I feel the same way, Alexander."

He smiled, his eyes cr crling at the corners. "I'm glad to hear that."

As we stood there, lost in each other's eyes, Sophia burst into the room, her face twisted with anger.

"So, this is what's going on," she spat, her voice venomous. "You're sleeping with the boss, Emily. How cliché."

Alexander's expression turned cold, his eyes flashing with anger. "Sophia, that's enough. This is none of your business."

But Sophia wasn't having it. She stormed out of the room, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.

I sighed, feeling a sense of unease. "I think I have a problem, Alexander."

He nodded, his expression serious. "Don't worry, Emily. I'll take care of it."

But as he pulled me into his arms, I knew that this was just the beginning of our problems.

The next day, the office was abuzz with gossip. Everyone was talking about Alexander and me, and I knew that I had to be careful.

But I couldn't help the way I felt. I was falling for Alexander, and I didn't know how to stop it.

As I walked into the office, Alexander caught my eye, his expression intense. He nodded, and I followed him into his office.

"Emily, I want to talk to you about us," he said, his voice low and serious. "I know this is new, but I want to make it work. I want to be with you."

My heart skipped a beat as he took my hand. "I want that too, Alexander."

As we stood there, lost in each other's eyes, I knew that I was in this for the long haul.
