Rael trudged forward through the dense treeline, while Xaphxan trailed behind him, his eyes darting cautiously from side to side.
Until they finally reached the clearing Ayobe had marked as the Colosapes territory, Rael came to a sudden halt. squinting his eyes and scanning the quiet grove, but found no sign of the beasts.
Xaphxan, however, let out a massive sigh of relief. "Ehh, Boss, it seems Lady Ayobe got it wrong after all. Too bad! It looks like we'll just have to turn bac—"
"Shush!" Rael cut him off instantly, his heightened senses picking up a slight disturbance . He lowered his center of gravity before slowly kneeling and pressing his palm flat against the earth then he closed his eyes for a heartbeat, only to snap them open and glare toward a specific cluster of trees. He could feel a slight, rhythmic tremors vibrating through the soil, growing stronger by the second.
