"Do you remember what happened here that night?"
Diane watched his expression. It was one she couldn't read.
"What night? " Diane asked, trying to bid for more time. Mira would soon come looking for her, until then she has to bid her time.
How much does this man standing before her know, and what exactly could have transpired between her and her supposed brother-in-law, at night at that?
He retraced his steps, and as he walked closer to her, he stopped just a breath away.
"The night you fell into it," he said while nudging towards the cloudy water. "We were together."
The first time Diane set her eyes on him at the hall, she had thought him likeable. Not so much now.
"You didn't forget, did you? " "I don't believe the rumor about you losing your memory, Athea."
"Did you want to pretend that it did not happen? "
"Pretend that what did not happen?" Diane asked now, clearly exasperated with his questions. A lot had happened today, and all she wanted to do was sleep.
