Chapter 30– The Box
Her gaze zeroed in on the name that was written on the box. Blurring the 'Julie' away into the background and focusing on the word 'Summers'.
His voice rang in her ears again and it was almost like she was back in that tree and he was looking up at her.
Fancy seeing you here, Miss Summers.
She had managed to stop thinking of him lately, to not look over her shoulders in fear and to just stick with her plan of blending into the background.
A royal seal.
Had he done this?
What was in the box?
"It wasn't a guard that night, was it?"
It was only in that moment that Idalia remembered that Rosabel was standing right behind her.
"What?"
A frown flashed over Rosabel's face. "There is a royal seal on the box and it has your name on it. The only royalty you seem to be having something with is the Grand General."
Idalia's heart skipped a beat and sweat pooled at her back.
"Having something with? You sound ridiculous."
