Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Rhino Man and Lady Viper — MonstersAssemble!

High above New York, inside the gleaming headquarters of Vanderbuilt Technologies, Levi sat comfortably in his office chair. The floor-to-ceiling windows behind him framed the city lights, while the hum of servers filled the air like a mechanical heartbeat.

On his desk, a cup of steaming tea rested beside an array of holographic displays. The encryptor device blinked softly—a message incoming from Satellite Ark.

"Oh?" Levi's lips curled into a faint smile. "Ark has started absorbing malicious data already?"

He leaned back, resting his elbow on the chair's armrest. "That means the Ames units have officially begun their first operation."

Turning slightly, Levi called out, "Izzy, bring up the live feed. I'd like to watch the Ames Guard in action."

"Yes, President!" Izzy responded, her voice crisp. With a smooth motion of her hand, she activated the projection system.

In an instant, multiple holographic screens bloomed in front of Levi. Each screen displayed a different camera angle—from helmet feeds, surveillance drones, and the Modia Units' internal optics.

The overlapping visuals created a panoramic, almost cinematic view of the battlefield. Levi smiled faintly, eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"Show me, Ames," he whispered. "Let's see what you're capable of."

---

Hell's Kitchen — Wilson Bar

Outside the Wilson Bar, the night had fallen silent—too silent.

Moments ago, this block had been a fortress of underworld power. Now, it was surrounded by armored vehicles bearing the AIMS insignia. Inside each vehicle, Modia Units waited motionless, their red optics pulsing in rhythm with the hum of charged energy weapons.

Then, Bu Po's voice cut through the quiet.

"Move in!" he commanded.

The convoy's doors hissed open. Ames operatives poured out in perfect formation. Their movements were fast, synchronized, and unnervingly precise.

"Sabine, flank left," Bu Po said, lifting his custom-built firearm—the Shooting Upgrade Key, designed by Levi himself.

"Already on it," Sabine replied, checking her ammo counter as she followed close behind.

The rest of the Modia assault units took cover against the walls, weapons ready.

Wilson Bar's main door loomed ahead—the only entrance in or out.

Bu Po took a deep breath. Then he kicked it open with brutal force.

Boom!

The door exploded off its hinges, crashing inward.

"Go, go, go!" he shouted.

The team surged forward, weapons drawn, entering the bar like a thunderstorm.

Inside, chaos erupted.

Patrons turned in panic as masked figures stormed through the front. The pounding music drowned out their screams for only a second before gunfire tore through the room. Bottles shattered, neon lights flickered, and the air filled with smoke and terror.

"Enemy attack!" someone yelled—but it was too late.

The Ames Guard had already taken control.

---

The Modia Units moved through the darkness with surgical precision. Their internal night vision systems scanned every shadow, every face. Holographic displays flickered in their optics:

> [IDENTITY CONFIRMED: Jimmy, Viper Gang Member]

[AGE: 30]

[THREAT LEVEL: HIGH]

[ACTION PERMISSION: ELIMINATE]

Bang!

One clean shot. The target fell instantly.

Streams of crimson data—digital signatures of "malicious" human activity—rose from the bodies like red smoke and flowed straight into the Modia Units' systems.

> [Malicious Data Captured]

[Uploading to Satellite Ark...]

Within seconds, the Ark deep underground began to hum again, storing the sins of Hell's Kitchen within its endless circuits.

---

The bar had turned into a war zone.

Bullets flew wildly as gangsters fired back, but their rounds bounced harmlessly off the Modia Units' reinforced polymer armor. Even direct hits only caused minor sparks or superficial cracks.

The Modia Units were relentless—moving through gunfire as if it were rain.

Everywhere, the sound of their synchronized steps filled the room like a heartbeat of justice and judgment.

"This is Ames's first mission," Bu Po reminded his troops through the comm link. "Show them how we deliver justice!"

"Roger that!" several Modia Units responded in unison.

---

Inside a private VIP room at the back of the bar, the two leaders—Lady Viper and her foreign guest—paused mid-conversation as the muffled explosions reached their ears.

"What the hell was that?" Lady Viper frowned, smoke curling from her pipe.

Before anyone could answer, the door burst open. A bloodied gangster stumbled inside, gasping for breath. "Ma'am! They're here! Some kind of—machines—they're slaughtering everyone!"

His voice was cut short as a stray bullet tore through his chest. He dropped to the ground, lifeless.

Lady Viper's expression hardened. "Someone dares to attack my place?" she hissed, her cold eyes narrowing.

From the shadows opposite her, a deep chuckle rumbled.

"Looks like your reputation's slipping," said a massive man as he set down a half-empty beer mug.

A giant figure stood up, towering over everyone else in the room.

The lights flickered, and his features were revealed.

He was nearly two meters tall, his body built like a tank. His shoulders were broad, his chest thick as steel, and his entire form was wrapped in a strange, leathery suit that gleamed under the dim light. Most striking of all—a long, curved horn protruded from his forehead.

The man smirked. "Guess I'll handle this one for you, Lady Viper."

Lady Viper exhaled smoke through her lips and gave a cruel smile. "Fine. Show them why they call you the Rhino Man."

---

The Birth of a Monster

Once, Rhino Man had been just another street thug—greedy, reckless, hungry for power. But years ago, he volunteered for an illegal radiation experiment, hoping to gain superhuman strength. The experiment fused a synthetic polymer into his skin, transforming his body into something far beyond human.

His flesh hardened into armor tougher than steel. His bones were reinforced with molecular plating.

The side effects were devastating, but the result was undeniable.

Bullets bounced off him like raindrops. Fire didn't burn him. Ice didn't freeze him.

He was indestructible—and he loved it.

Rhino Man cracked his neck, the sound echoing through the room like thunder. "Been a while since I've had a proper fight," he growled. "Let's see how these tin soldiers compare."

Outside, the screams and gunfire continued. The Ames Guard had nearly cleared the main floor. Sabine was coordinating the extraction of surviving civilians while Bu Po and two Modia elites prepared to breach the final door.

"Last room," Bu Po said. "Ready your weapons!"

Before anyone could move, the wall exploded outward.

Boom!

Concrete and metal fragments scattered as Rhino Man burst through, roaring like an enraged beast.

He landed heavily, shaking the floor.

"Surprise!" he bellowed, swinging a massive fist that sent one Modia soldier flying through the wall. Sparks exploded as the unit hit the ground, half its body crushed.

"Holy—what the hell is that?" Bu Po shouted.

Sabine aimed her rifle. "Target identified. Enhanced mutant. Codename: Rhino Man."

"Permission to engage?" Bu Po grinned.

"Granted."

---

The next second, the room erupted in chaos.

Bu Po dashed forward, sliding under Rhino Man's first punch and firing upward. The bullets struck the brute's chest but ricocheted harmlessly.

"Hah! Tickles!" Rhino Man laughed, stomping down with the force of a truck. The ground cracked, forcing Bu Po to leap back.

Sabine opened fire from the side, her precision shots striking the gaps in his armor, but even that wasn't enough.

The Modia Units joined in, unleashing suppressive fire, their optics glowing red. Still, Rhino Man advanced, unstoppable, swatting them aside like flies.

"Useless toys!" he roared, grabbing one Modia by the neck and hurling it through a wall.

But as he turned, Bu Po was already moving—his Upgrade Key weapon glowing with golden light.

"Try this on!" Bu Po shouted, pulling the trigger.

A surge of compressed plasma burst from the barrel, striking Rhino Man directly in the chest. The explosion sent him reeling backward, smoke rising from his armor.

For the first time, Rhino Man looked down at his chest and saw cracks spreading through the hardened surface. "That… actually hurt," he muttered.

Sabine's eyes narrowed. "He's weakening. Hit him again!"

Bu Po smirked. "Gladly."

---

Far away, in the safety of his office, Levi watched the battle unfold on his screen. He leaned forward, eyes glinting. "Excellent," he murmured. "The Ames Guard's first encounter with a metahuman... Let's see how they adapt."

On the secondary monitor, Satellite Ark's red core pulsed faster. The malicious data flooding in from the bar was being processed at incredible speed.

> [Data Intake Increased 700%]

[Adaptive Analysis: Combat Evolution Enabled]

"Fascinating," Levi whispered. "The Ark is learning."

He took another sip of tea, calm amidst the storm.

Back on the battlefield, Bu Po aimed his glowing weapon once more. The light reflected off the debris, illuminating the chaos.

"Round two," he said with a grin. "Let's finish this."
