Chapter 6 - Chapter Six OFFICE

Xavier's POV

She looks so sexy. What am I even saying? Perhaps she's just looking sexy to me because I want to fuck her badly.

But something doesn't seem to balance even when he tells himself that it's because he wants to fuck her.

Daine

I don't know what is going on. Why is he just staring at me like I'm a candy, or is something wrong with my dress? She excused herself to the bathroom to check her looks, but she looked okay, so why was he staring at her like something was all over her? She quickly finished up and went back to the meeting room, and she noticed that he was still stealing glances at her. What was going on? He already hates her. Why is he looking at her?

She was uncomfortable throughout the meeting, and he seemed to notice her uneasiness, taking pleasure in it.

Xavier

She looks unsettled. Is she okay? Why do I care? She looks sexy. I wouldn't mind wanting to fuck her here. He laughed within himself and looked at her with the side of his eyes, and she was gradually looking more attractive to him by the minute, so he couldn't stop staring, and she kept on shifting on her seat, and he had to put the meeting to an end because he thought this was too much. She looked worried or rather uncomfortable.

Daine's POV

I was happy when he ended the meeting. Fuck, that guy was looking as if he wanted to eat me. This is getting harder than I thought. I'm not sure I can stand that bastard; he keeps staring. If not for him being my boss, I would pluck out his eyes. She mentally imagined pulling his eyes and laughed at her own thinking: "Wow, so it's easier to kill someone in your mind than in reality."

A little while later, the phone in front of her rang, and she picked it up only for Xavier to summon her to his office, and she started asking herself, "What does he want from her now?"

And she remembered Daisy's advice to apologise to him and get over all this shit. She knew she needed her peace of mind more than anyone else, and she knew working with Xavier was only going to make her situation of hating him worse, but does it have to be him, she asked herself mentally.

Xavier's POV

"I couldn't help but call her to my office to see her face and that ass of hers. I saw her entering my office, and I knew the fun had just begun. I asked her to sit on the couch by the side of my office and prepare a file for her, acting as if I really needed the file immediately, but I knew better. I just wanted her to feel uncomfortable. It pleases me when I see her so uncomfortable; it makes me happy to see that she is uncomfortable."

Daine's POV

"So he called me to this office to just work on a file he won't be needing anytime soon; is he trying to provoke me to death?" With Diane saying that her mood started to turn sour, she was getting upset already that she forgot what Daisy told her to do, and she stared at the couch that she was asked to sit on and felt like killing it if we're to be human beings. She kept turning to look at Xavier to see if he had any reaction on his face, but he had none, and she hated that he had no expression on his face; she needed something to use and leave his office.

Three hours later,

Daine

"I'm so tired of sitting here with this motherfucker; he's trying to frustrate me."

Diane was already upset that he kept her for this long without her doing anything important for him, and he looked as if he didn't do anything wrong. "I've had it up to here," she said and turned to face him but caught him looking at me.

And she almost asked him why he was staring at her, but she held herself back, and that was because she remembered she owed him an apology, so she just acted so obedient and respectful that it got Xavier both worried and surprised, so he had to ask her.

POV: Xavier

"Hey, are you okay?" Diane turned and looked at him, shook her head, and turned back to what she was doing, acting like he never called or spoke to her. Xavier started thinking to himself, "I don't think she's okay; she doesn't look upset but looks so calm. Anyways, I don't care; I only want her to fall for me, and then I'll use and dump her."

(An hour later

Xavier's POV

"Hey, come here, sir. Um, I need you to get me a cup of coffee—no sugar, no milk, just coffee—and also get your lunch; you'll be having lunch in my office."

Diane

"Wait, what? So he actually wants me to have lunch in his office. Wow, I should have known he's in for my life, just like the way he did back in high school days. Anyways, I'm not that little girl he can boss around.

"It's different now." She turns to him. "Sir, I would like to have my lunch at my office if you don't mind." Xavier looked up at her and said, "No, you'll eat in my office."

Diane instantly felt upset, and she started thinking to herself, "Like, who the fuck does he think he is? Why is he suddenly telling me what to do? I really hate him right now." She had to force a reply, "Okay, sir," with a fake smile. She left the office and went to the office cafeteria, and she bought a black coffee, and then she bought sushi shoyu and a bottle of sake, and she bought some mooncakes.

Xavier's POV

Wait, she didn't want to eat with me. I don't even know why. She behaved so calmly even when I told her she would be eating in my office. I expected her to throw a tantrum, but she behaved so calmly.

As if my invitation was just another mundane task in her day. I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more beneath her composed exterior, something she wasn't ready to share yet. I found myself intrigued, wanting to peel back the layers of her enigmatic demeanour. Perhaps there was a story behind that calmness, one that could reveal the depths of her true feelings. As I observed her, I wondered what thoughts swirled in her mind, hidden behind those serene eyes. The air between us felt charged with unspoken words, and I was eager to uncover the truth she seemed to guard so fiercely.
