> [Confirm your choice: Initial class — Mage (Spirit-based).
(Note: Once chosen, the initial class cannot be changed.)]
"Confirm!"
Oscar Everett didn't hesitate.
> [Name: Oscar Everett (Citizen ID: 5517********2002)
Class chosen: Mage]
[Drawing initial skill…]
[You obtained the skill book: Fireball]
[Your skill book Fireball has been amplified one hundredfold — upgraded to Chaos Fireball!]
A glowing tome materialized before Oscar, landing neatly in his arms.
His pulse quickened as the message confirming a successful hundredfold amplification appeared. Without a second thought, he selected Learn, then opened his skill panel.
Chaos Fireball
Active Skill
Cost: 10 Mana
Cast Time: 0.3 sec
Effect: Launches a chaotic fireball that deals (Spirit × 1000%) Fire Damage. Upon impact, creates a 1-meter magma pool that inflicts (Spirit × 500%) Fire Damage per second for 5 seconds on all enemies within.
Cooldown: 0.1 sec
Oscar drew a sharp breath.
He still remembered the standard version — the basic Fireball every Mage started with:
1.5-second cast time, (Spirit × 80% + 20) damage, 0.5-second cooldown.
Compared to that… this new spell was an entirely different league.
"Even knowing I had a hundredfold growth talent, seeing this power firsthand—"
He grinned, firelight flickering in his eyes.
"—it's just too damn cool."
He recited the now-shortened incantation in his mind. A dark-red sphere of chaotic flame formed above his palm, pulsing with violent energy. He smiled faintly, then dispersed it and exited the transfer space.
Outside, Yuno immediately stepped forward.
"Class?"
"Mage," Oscar replied.
"Good." She tapped her wrist console, and a trade request popped up.
> [『Yuno Starlet』 wants to trade with you — Accept?]
Oscar hit Accept.
Moments later, a new set of items appeared in his inventory — a skill book: Appraisal, a Nanmu Staff (+10 Spell Power), and a full set of beginner cloth armor with dual defense +1 across all eight pieces.
Yuno spoke briskly. "Get used to your kit. We'll head to the Secret Tower soon."
Then she was already walking away toward another newly-transferred student.
Oscar opened his bag. Ten glowing icons filled the grid. He touched his chin thoughtfully, then called to the system in his mind.
"Divine Nexus — does my Hundredfold Amplification work on items received from others?"
> [Only items issued directly by the Divine Nexus trigger automatic amplification.
To amplify other items, you must activate the process manually.]
[Note 1: Each item may only be amplified once. Amplified items become soulbound.]
[Note 2: Monetary assets cannot be amplified.]
Oscar sighed. "There goes my dream of printing divine gold…"
Still, he eyed the ten items thoughtfully — then tapped the Appraisal skill book first.
> [Your skill book Appraisal has been amplified one hundredfold — evolved into Eye of Knowledge!]
He learned it instantly.
Eye of Knowledge
Active Skill
Cost: 20 Mana
Cast Time: 1 sec
Effect:
1. Reveals full details of any target ≤10 levels above you.
2. Against targets ≥10 levels higher, reveals partial data depending on level gap.
3. When identifying unidentified equipment of Rare/Epic/Legendary quality, success chances are 50% / 10% / 1%.
Cooldown: 30 sec
Compared to the basic Appraisal that failed against targets just five levels higher, this was a true dimensional leap.
Oscar glanced around — half the students still hadn't exited their transfer spaces, likely testing their new skills. Smiling faintly, he returned his focus to his pack.
"Alright then… let's make the rest of these shine."
He selected the staff and armor, one by one, invoking the hundredfold increase.
Each slot flared blue in turn — a soft glow spreading through his inventory grid.
Oscar's heartbeat quickened as he hovered over his now-enchanted staff.
"Let's see what kind of monster this turns into…"
