At the abyss, this young boy among the devils was known as a genius in his own rights. Well, if you could quickly learn and subtly master whatever you observe for more than three hours, we could call you a very rare genius. He learnt calligraphy, reading, painting, carpentry, smithing and peerless sword play at the age of seven so yeah, he was a genius.
The chief of the abyss although not early as expected saw that the legend the book stated, the actual devil the god realm so feared was this boy who grew under his watch and so decided to use this boy as the key to their survival, their only way out of this suffering. But for this to happen, to groom the apocalypse that the god realm feared so deeply, the young boy needed to be trained to master spells at an unbelievable unfathomable rate to even stand a chance against second tier gods.
There was a reason the god realm ruled the four realms and this was because even the lowest of them were so good in spells that they could be on par with top leaders and chiefs from other realms. So no matter the level of this boy's ingenuity, there was no way he could stand a chance against the almighty empyrean. In terms of power, spells, cultivation and inner strength, the empyrean was only one step behind the eternal creator.
He was a direct disciple of the eternal creator so it was impossible for anyone to even foster the idea of defeating him but yen shui believed that if the legend was true, somehow, this boy would be formidable enough to defeat the empyrean and the entire god realm. And so, the training began though secretly that only three people out of the thousands of devils in the abyss knew what was going on.
As expected, yen shui and the two chiefs saw the young devil break through phases that took them hundreds of years to break in weeks sometimes in days. This boy was a genius and there was no doubt but he was still far from being formidable enough to go against the lowest god in the god realm.
In the lifetime of an immortal be it a god, a sky immortal, a demon or a devil, there are 21 stages or phases which shows an Immortal's level of mastery of spells. The first five stages take a hundred years for lowly and average immortals to master. If one is gifted, it'd take 50 years to master and people in these stages are usually the servants and maids you'd see working in the four realms. The next ten stages take an additional hundred years for both gifted and non-gifted immortals to master, these are the stages the elite soldiers of the four realms occupy. But you see, gods were born with mastery over the first fifteen stages of spells from birth leaving them with only six more stages to master in their lifetime and these six stages were the hardest to master even for gods. Even the empyrean, the ruler of the god realm after a thousand years of training, had only just recently completed the last six stages.
The young devil even though a genius was still in his first fifteen phase of spells when even the lowest gods in the god realm had complete mastery of these stages from birth. This was why yen shui was worried and decided together with the two other chiefs to make a big decision, a plan that could be fatal if everything didn't go as planned.
The plan was to give him a sacred forbidden book that could allow one open his sealed core granting him the power to cultivate. The spell recorded in this book had never been used in the devil clan and to get this book, yen shui and the two chiefs had to perform a spell known as the towering palace, it was an ancient spell that they planned on using to break the barrier sealing the forbidden book.
But devils were banned by the empyrean of the god realm from practising spells because they had the potential of enacting the great chaos and elite soldiers of the god realm with mastery over at least fifteen stages were sent to patrol their realm with the permission to kill and destroy any devil seen practising spells instantly even if it means wiping off the entire devil realm.
Yen shui and the two chiefs knew this was risky but they decided to risk it all on this young devil hoping he would be able to open his core using the spell in the forbidden book immediately they unseal it but they were wrong.
Spies lurked around the abyss and the god realm caught wind of what yen shui and the two chiefs were about to do.
Spies planted by the empyrean to get first hand information on the internal activities of the devils somehow knew what yen shui was planning and his strive to revive the forbidden book. They reported everything to the empyrean and before yen shui and the two chiefs could even assemble their powers because they had been banned from using it, report from the border had already arrived. The empyrean had released the twenty-one warriors to wipe out the thousands of devils in the abyss.
Luckily, yen shui had anticipated this day years before now and so had made plans, deadly plans. It sounds stupid to send just twenty-one warriors no matter how skilled they were to wipe out an entire realm filled with thousands if not millions of devils but as stupid as it may sound, these twenty-one warriors were more than enough to do the job.
Thousands of years ago, to eliminate figures that were as powerful as him in terms of mastery of spells, the empyrean became an hypocrite and indulged himself in the use of spells that he had declared openly to the four realms as forbidden. He tried to use this forbidden spell to raise a breed, an army that lucifer an arch enemy of the eternal creator used against the god realm before he was utterly defeated by the eternal creator in a life and death solo duel.
This army is known as the death army, they neither feel pain nor fear neither do they feel fatigue. They are immune to spells and do not have a mind of their own. They only follow the orders of their creator which is to kill. They have a high level of mastery over spells up to the seventeenth stage and they are skilled in the use of all weapons. Unfortunately for the empyrean, the thousands of people he tested this spell all died because he was not as skilled as lucifer the originator of this spell so only twenty-one out of all the subjects survived and successfully became the death squad.
