Chase looked at the blood backpack Andrew had, eager to see what he could do.
"You go on offense, I'll make sure they don't slip away"
Hearing a whooshing sound, Chase casually leaned back, dodging an arrow, that landed a few feet away, just missing his head and sticking in the grass.
"What the?" Turning around, Chase saw a goblin with a makeshift bow and arrow. It had blue tattoos and hid in trees, still just as ugly.
So was its bow, still improperly made, with tiny branches still sticking out in certain places.
"GIIAAAH"
Seeing that it didn't hit him, it made weird angry gargling noises before reaching for its makeshift quiver, equally as ugly as it's wielder.
"So they aren't complete numb skulls?"
"One day they might even learn magic"
Andrew said jokingly, causing Chase to shake his head. Chase was genuinely surprised they could even do this. "You gonna handle it?" He said, turning to look at Andrew.
"Easy peasy" Andrew, with a the swift pointing of his fingers, conjured a piece of the blood from the ball on his back. it left the man blood bank in almost snakelike movements before darting at the goblin, drilling a massive hole in his chest. "You know, this whole transformation was probably for the best."
Andrew said in shock, his eyes wide. He hardly felt any mana usage.
But not only was it slowly being drawn back, but the extra blood from the goblin comes back too.
The thing about elemental magic is that while you can create a 1 to 1 replica through mana, it takes a good bit of energy. If you are a water mage near a body of water, it takes significantly less mana to just pull from the nearest lake and the spell would be just as effective.
the same rules apply here. Andrew was using up next to no mana from that attack. In a serious fight, was blood not always going to be there? This was the power of a blood mage. You were always playing the long game.
"That thing is certainly dead" Chase stared at the falling creature as its blood was leaving it, slowly turning it into a dry husk. More footsteps on the grass told him that more goblins were on the way.
"Gaaaah" 30 more goblins and counting came from down the blocked off road and the forest. Some carried wooden clubs, jagged blades, some were perched in trees, getting ready to snipe him.
"No way they expected 4 f ranks to hands this" Chase was genuinely questioning the rationale of that old man. "They must be more desperate than he's letting on" Andrew added from afar. "I'll make sure to extort him don't worry."
Chase smiled, letting them get almost prepared, he put his foot down leaning forward when suddenly
"Don't even move" rang in his ears.
Turning around, he looked at Andrew only to see a very tiny ball of blood, yet Andrew was holding out his hand smirking. He pointed upwards with his head quickly, keeping his sly grin. Chase squinted his eyes but looking up, he understood.
A wave of blood red mana erupted, as blood spikes rained down on the entire area, put holes in trees, goblins and the floor. It was like a hail of bullets All coming down at once.
Large clouds of dust sprouted wherever the blood spikes hit, and if even one hit a goblin, they were torn in half.
looking at the aftermath, Chase saw about 29 trees completely obliterated, all goblins dead, their bodies shredded into clumps of viscera and gore. Even the ground beneath them was showing pure soil, the grass obliterated, giving the smell of a freshly mowed lawn.
"Too bad it's clouded by the smell of dead goblins" Chase said annoyed.
As Chase saw all of this, he only had one thing on his mind "Man, we sure have changed"
——
hearing that giant explosion caused all the men working on the gate to stop. "What kind of devils have they summoned" a voice said.
"What's happening back there?" More voices began piling on.
"they sure seem to be having the time of their lives back there" Damian said. Next time, we should be there" Donny sighed. "There is no next time, Tomorrow we drive the menace out in front of the village head."
"And if he sees us using the type of power I assume Andrew is, huge suspicion will arise."
"Lucky bastards" Damian said before sitting down, staring at the builders.
