She leaned across the desk, her hand brushing mine lightly. "We wouldn't want it any other way, Elara. And honestly… having you with us makes it feel even more real. Like family."
I smiled softly, squeezing her hand gently. "Then it's settled," I said. "We'll make sure everything is perfect. For you. For him. For both of you. I won't let anything spoil this. You two deserve the happiest day, and I'll make sure it happens exactly how you want it."
Janae's grin widened. "You're too good, Elara. Honestly. You really are."
I shrugged lightly, trying to hide how touched I was, though my smile gave it away. "I just want to see you happy. That's all. You and David have been through so much already. It's time for this to feel easy, fun, and… perfect."
She laughed, softly shaking her head. "You always know exactly what to say, don't you?"
I smirked, leaning back in my chair. "It's a gift. Or maybe a curse. Hard to tell sometimes."
