Chapter 5 - Test Failed

The next day after the press conference, that kept me awake all night. I found Andrew already in my room again, sitting beside the bed and watching me sleep like yesterday. This time his clothes were more casual; it seemed the man wasn't going to work.

Andrew's smile was so awkward to respond to; I think it's not that easy to restore something that has been broken before. My fear still lingers, even though deep down in my heart, I want to hug him. "Good morning," Andrew offered a large bouquet of flowers that I hadn't realized he had hidden until now.

I took it hesitantly—a bouquet of lilies from the valley that meant an apology. I liked it, but I buried all my happy expressions when I was with him. "Today, it's my time for you." Andrew smiled sweetly, a smile that could melt any girl.

A moment later, a nurse arrived with a plate of breakfast and the medications I had been taking for the past few days. After taking the medication, I felt a bit more relaxed. Doctor Collin said that the vitamin is a B complex vitamin that will give me a good mood, and I am grateful because my body responds to it correctly.

"Just keep it here, I will feed my wife." The nurse walked over to Andrew with both hands trembling. Yes, I know Andrew is so popular and has been on TV, Leo even caused a stir in the entire hospital because he wanted to take me home a while ago, so it's no wonder the nurse also knows who Andrew is.

When the nurse left, Andrew really asked me to eat his food. There was no choice, and I accepted it even though it seemed awkward now. "Do you want to go for a walk after eating? Dr. Collin said you haven't gone out since three days ago when you came here," Andrew said while giving him another bite.

"I came here to hide, not to stroll around." Andrew immediately stifled a laugh. "You're hiding from me, and I've already found you."

I couldn't accept Leo's teasing words, so I asked him to stop feeding me under the pretext of being full. "Alright, let's go for a walk." Andrew put down his plate and held my hand warmly. His smile reappeared, and I instantly lost my fear of him.

"I have to take a shower before going out," I said, remembering that I had just woken up.

"Do you want me to bathe you?" His devilish smile appeared, but I immediately shook my head as a sign that I did not allow it. Now our status is different, and Leo is under consideration for forgiveness. If we were in a more intimate situation, I fear it would be uncontrollable.

"Alright, I'll wait outside." Andrew obediently followed my request, even though the Andrew from before always used to insist. For some reason, I discovered a side of Andrew that I had never seen before; it would have been much better if Andrew had acted like this three years ago.

This time, after finishing my shower, I kept my promise to take a walk with Andrew around Hiraeth Hospital. We decided to sit for a while near a pond with a beautiful fountain in the hospital garden. Andrew glanced around. He saw the psychiatric hospital patients nearby with their various antics.

"I still can't believe why you chose a mental hospital as your hideout. Won't this view disturb you?" Andrew asked.

"Here I don't feel alone; many are hurt like me. Their mental state is shattered after fighting against their circumstances. They also didn't want to become like this, but the harshness of life made them end up here," I murmured while watching a poor little patient who was terrified of her own nurse.

"Do you know how heavy, painful, and sad their struggles are? Not to mention the society that ostracizes and calls them crazy."

"I'm sorry." Andrew suddenly apologized. I turned to him and saw his sad face. "I know I'm a rough bastard, but deep down in my heart, I love you very much."

Andrew's words made me soften for a moment, but suddenly his phone rang. I caught a glimpse of the caller's name, which turned out to be his personal secretary, Lucy. When Andrew answered it, I could hear the woman's voice. "Aren't you going to work? Have you forgotten that we have an important colleague from China? I picked you up from the mental hospital; I know your wife is there." Andrew's expression turned into restrained anger. Andrew unilaterally ended the phone call, then glanced at me again.

"Lucy is in front; she came to remind me that our meeting with the important colleague from China is scheduled for today. Sorry, wait a moment." Andrew patted my back; he walked quickly towards the front of the mental hospital, where from my current sitting position I could even see Lucy's car outside the hospital gate.

I don't know what they were talking about, but I saw Andrew's hand around Lucy's waist. For some unknown reason.

A moment later, Leo returned to me, "I will take you back to your room. Pack your clothes and let's go home, darling." Andrew stroked the top of my head, but I reflexively shook my head.

"Let's go home. I've announced to many people that you are my wife. I did it so you would come home. I also promised to treat you better than yesterday. So let's go home." Andrew squeezed my hand, dragging me quickly into the hospital and up to the second floor, where my room was.

"Let's go home. Pack your things; I'll wait." Andrew's words were full of demands, and I just stood there in silence. "I don't want to go with you."

Andrew's eyes narrowed, a sign that he was about to explode again. "Come home with me." Andrew exhaled, holding back his anger very unexpectedly.

Once again, I shook my head. Andrew clenched his fists tightly, but he still tried to be patient. "Alright, let me pack your clothes." Andrew walked quickly to find my suitcase in the closet, carelessly throwing all my clothes into it.

"Alright, let's go home." Andrew pulled my hand tightly, but I held my ground just as firmly.

"I TOLD YOU TO COME WITH ME, HOME!" Andrew's shout was so thunderous, my body responded to it quickly. A great tremor and deep fear, tears fell until they turned into sobs after sobs.

"GO HOME, DAMN IT!" Andrew gripped my jaw tightly. I shook my head in his strong grip.

"You really can't be softened; you really need to be hit." Andrew's hand rose into the air, about to slap my cheek, but when I closed my eyes, I didn't feel it at all.

"Mr. Andrew, you have failed. Because you did not keep your promise to me, you may go home without Matilda."
