Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Test

Location: U.A. City — Honda Apartment Rooftop, 11:58 PM.

The night hummed quietly under the neon skyline.

Yuna crouched on the rooftop, black suit glinting faintly under the moonlight. Her whip coiled at her hip, claws retracted, goggles scanning the skyline.

> Yuna (thinking): "Tomorrow's the U.A. Quirk Assessment Test… heroes showing off their power. And me? Just a quirkless girl pretending to belong."

Her communicator buzzed — a client message flashed:

TARGET: Nakamura Tech Facility. Retrieve the prototype drive. Reward: 500,000 yen.

She smirked.

> Yuna: "One last job before school. Catwoman would be proud."

She launched her grappling line and swung across the dark, her shadow slicing through the moonlight like a silent promise.

Tomorrow, she'd have to blend in as an ordinary student.

Tonight, she'd remind herself who she really was — Phantom Cat, the thief that heroes couldn't catch.

Location: Nakamura Tech Facility – 00:13 A.M.

The glass of the upper skylight trembled under Yuna's gloved fingertips. A single flick of her wrist released a miniature cutter, carving a perfect circle without a sound.

> Yuna (thinking): "Old security system… analog wiring. Perfect. Whoever built this never met a girl raised on comic book heists."

She slipped inside, landing in a silent crouch among rows of chrome servers. Her infrared lenses mapped the room—red laser lines like spiderwebs waiting to catch a fly.

She smirked, pulling a small metal disc from her belt.

One button press — click — and a pulse of blue static rippled through the room.

The lasers flickered… then vanished.

> Yuna: "EMP short. Thank you, old-world tech."

She sprinted low and fast, body twisting between security cameras with dancer-like grace. Her every movement was deliberate — part acrobatics, part predator.

Finally, she reached the main terminal.

Inside, a glowing drive labeled "Prototype Neural Interface v2.3".

She snatched it, slotting it into a black pouch on her thigh.

Mission complete. Almost.

Then she heard it — a sound like air tearing.

Shhhrk.

A long, black capture cloth whipped through the dark, wrapping around her wrist before she could react. It tightened instantly.

Yuna froze.

> Voice (calm, cold): "You're fast. Too fast for an ordinary break-in."

Her goggles switched to night vision — and there he was, standing in the shadows near the ceiling pipes.

A long black scarf floated around him like smoke, red eyes glinting beneath messy hair.

Eraserhead.

> Yuna (thinking, panic flickering): "Oh, no… him? The underground hero who expels students for fun…"

He dropped from the pipes in silence, landing right in front of her. His capture weapon tightened around her arm.

> Aizawa: "Drop the drive. Slowly."

Yuna (smirking despite the danger): "What drive?"

With a flick of her free hand, she released a smoke bomb — filling the lab with thick black vapor.

Aizawa's scarf recoiled instantly, slicing through the air to catch her again, but she'd already leapt backward through the smoke.

> Aizawa: "Tch." He erased her movement briefly, forcing her muscles to stiffen.

Yuna: "You—erase quirks. But I don't have one."

Her voice echoed behind him now — taunting, distant, feline.

By the time the smoke cleared, the skylight window above was open, the night air rushing in.

Aizawa's eyes narrowed. He reached the window edge, peering down the rooftops — nothing. Only the faint sound of a grappling hook whirring into the dark.

> Aizawa (muttering): "No quirk, no trace, no alarm… who the hell are you?"

Below, in the alley shadows, Yuna crouched on a lamppost, grinning under her mask as the drive gleamed in her palm.

> Yuna (softly): "Sorry, teach. You'll meet me again soon enough… just not in class."

The sirens wailed in the distance. She disappeared into the night.
