The father of the young prince nods as he turns around. However, his appearance is completely unknown as it's blocked by shadow.
Alexandre Ankh (off-screen): That's my father. King Ankhdjehuty Ankh. He's the king of Ankh Kingdom. And on that day, he showed something that I'll never forget.
Three gold spirits float out and show themselves, shocking the young prince, before everything slowly flashes white.
OP: Undead.
A flash of thunder strikes forth and reveals the two fighters who are about to face each other. They are determined as their eyes spark with bravery.
Both: Raise the flag!!!
Hou: Dragon World.
Alexandre Ankh: Legend World.
As the fight begins, many people are spectating, including President Jigunji, who's watching from afar with his arms behind him. Ion & Takokichi then fly in out of nowhere.
Ion: Wassup, Everybody. Our apologies for being late, but we are about to witness a buddyfight once again.
Tako: We have the Ace of Games, Hou Ren, versus the Ace of Legend, Prince Alexandre Ankh. I have never seen those two buddyfight before, but this will be interesting, chu.
Ion: Anyway, the prince has the first move.
Alexandre Ankh: I've been waiting for this to arrive. Draw. Charge & Draw. Equip...(Equips) Scepter of Mathaf!!!
Daryl: I've never seen that card before...
Masato: {Confused} It has zero power and zero critical. What?
Alexandre Ankh: And further. I call to the center. Wandering Merchant, Otta. (Pays 1 life)
Otta: (Appears) I am here to serve, my prince.
Alexandre Ankh: When placed, (ability), looking at the top 3 cards of my deck. Move one Legend Dragon to my hand and discard the rest. Otta, attack thy enemy.
Otta: As you wish. (Attacks)
Hou's Life: 10 -> 8
Alexandre Ankh: And with that, my turn is over.
Ion: Otta dealt 2 damage to the fighter. Let's see how Hou responds.
Hou: I don't know what kind of monsters you have. But this isn't the first time I've experienced this kind of thing. Draw. Charge & Draw. I buddycall Gargantua Knight Dragon to the right. (Buddygift)
Garga: (Appears) All are powerless before my blade.
Ion: And right off the bat, Hou buddycalls Garga to the right.
Alexandre Ankh: Typical Ace of Games. Always go with his buddy right off the bat.
Hou: I don't always do that. They say "Pride goes before a fall", your Majesty. G Boost Over. (Ability) To the center and left, I call Garswallow and Awakened Dragon Deity, Garbird.
Garswallow: (Appears) Let's fly.
Garbird: (Appears) I'm here and I'm not sleepy.
Ion: What's this? Hou's using a size 0? That's new.
Hou: You have your scepter. And I have my trident. Equip..(equips) Deity Dragon Beamlance, Garknight Lance. (Does a cool pose with it)
Masato: (cheers) For Share!!! His forces are here.
Gwen: But wait, he has an item equipped. With a monster in the center, how is he going to attack?
Hou: You guys ready?
Hou's Monsters: Yes!!!
Hou: G-Boost Base ACTIVATE!!! (Super Saiyan)
With Hou powering up, his forces follow suit. It's so bright with lightning surrounding them. The young prince, however, watches it unfazed.
Ion: There it is!!! Hou's new specialty: G Boost!!!
Alexandre Ankh: (Points his Scepter, taunts) Excellent. Don't hold back. Show me what you got.
Hou: (Points his trident) Garga. Destroy Otta.
Garga: As you wish. (Attacks)
Garga successfully destroys Otta with a slash of his sword.
Garga: Penetrate.
Alexandre's Life: 9 -> 5
Ion: Oh My!!! 4 Damage in one strike!!!
Garga: Double attack. (Attacks)
Alexandre Ankh: Cast. Holy Grail. (Blocks)
Hou: Garbird. It's your turn.
Garbird: (Attacks) Right.
Ion: With Garbird's effect, Hou gains 4 life.
Alexandre Ankh: Cast. Frozen Circulation.
The spell creates waves of ice and knocks Garbird back, knocking him down.
Garbird: Oww...
Alexandre Ankh: I also gain 2 life.
Hou: {Impressed} Okay. Fly, Garswallow.
Garswallow: Right away. (Soars forward & hits) HA.
Alexandre's Life: 7 -> 4
Hou: Garswallow's effect. When finished attacking, because its power is over 10000, (Garswallow returns) it returns to my hand.
Everyone is shocked, while Kei is impressed as he lets out a smile.
Agito: It returned to his hand???
Cross: That means his center is wide open!!!
Masato: {Excited} Meaning Hou can now attack too. So that's why he had Garswallow in the center!!!
Daryl: Garknight Lance has a critical of 4. If that attack lands, Hou will win.
Gwen: (cheering) GO HOU!!! You can do it!!!
Everyone starts to cheer as loudly as they can. While hearing their cheers of joy, however, the young prince looks down with his eyes blocked by shadow. He lets out a "tch" as he clenches his teeth.
Hou: (Spins his Trident) Okay. Final sprint. Here goes. (Jumps)
Hou attacks with his trident and goes for a warrior yell. Just as he's about to hit an unfazed and shadowed prince, however...
Alexandre Ankh: I cast. Shield of Achilles.
The giant shield of Achilles appears and reduces the damage by 2. This made everyone shocked.
Ion: Hou's final attack was a swing and a miss!!! The young prince is not going down at all!!! Could the rumors of him being the Ace of Legend be true???
Alexandre Ankh: You're not my rival for nothing, that's for sure.
Hou: Huh?
Alexandre Ankh: I admit you're strong. But it's nothing compared to what I'm about to unleash. I told you, I'm about to turn your game off.
Hou: Hold your horses.
Alexandre Ankh: Huh?
Hou: You kept calling me your "Rival". No offense, but for the last time, I never met you before in my life. Why is that?
Alexandre Ankh: Huh? Why so sudden?
Hou: It's because I'm curious. What did I even do to you? Why are you so obsessed with me?
Alexandre Ankh: You really have an eye, I give you that. Since you asked nicely, I'll give you my answer. And I might as well tell you how I also became the "Ace of Legend."
Hearing the last three words grabs everyone's attention with curiosity. The young prince breathes in and lets out a sigh.
Alexandre Ankh: Ever since I was 5...
Flashback moment. Once again, the younger Alexandre Ankh is shown. As the prince of the Ankh Kingdom, he excelled in academics, the Arts, Sports, and even tea ceremonies at such a young age. The people of his kingdom are amazed by his achievements, especially his Father, who watched from afar with his arms crossed, with a smile on his face.
Alexandre Ankh: I was always a talented child. Academics. Sports. Arts. Tea Ceremonies. Buddyfight. You name it all. Throughout the years, I was always at the top of my game. My people were very impressed with my achievements. Thus, it's how I earned the nickname.
Flashback end.
Daryl: {stern} So he's like me...except in my case, Sports are not my thing.
Alexandre Ankh: Fame and fortune were my everyday life. Everything was going fine...until I was twelve, that is.
Hou: What happened then?
Alexandre Ankh: (Scoffs) What happened? {Enraged} YOU happened!!!
Hou: {Surprised} What?
Alexandre Ankh: My people were suddenly so interested in you!!!
Flashback Again. This time, while he was passing by, a few of his people were looking at their phones, very excited and interested in a video they were watching. The video features Hou making his accomplishments alongside Ranma in their Whaddup Pals channel. The young prince feels very irritated as he mentions what happened.
Alexandre Ankh: Your videos. Your actions in the Whaddup Pals channel pulled my people away. Little by little, even after you start buddyfighting, everyone has become so into you. It's always Ace of Games this. Ace of Games that. It's so irritating. Someone even stated that you might be even better than me. How offensive is that?
Flashback ends, and Hou feels shocked.
Hou: What?
Alexandre Ankh: And ever since then, I've been training left and right. So that I can settle the score with you, my greatest "rival".
Hou: Wait, wait, wait!!! You made me your rival all because you're jealous of me? Wow, I thought Ranma was the only one.
Alexandre Ankh: Well, too bad so sad, you're facing me and that's that. And I'm gonna show how much better I am than you.
Hou: That doesn't make sense, but...{confidence} (open arms) Bring it On!!!
Masato: Okay, but... I'd say right now, Hou has the advantage.
Daryl: Agreed. Hou has 16 life while the prince only has 2.
Agito: So it all comes down to this turn.
Cross: Hmmm...
Alexandre Ankh looks at his hand and closes his eyes. He remembers back in his youth when his father showed him the meaning of the giant statues behind the throne. He's astonished to see powerful deities (completely shadowed, but their eyes glowed) before him. When he returns to the present, His gold aura awakens, and his eyes open with confidence. His eyes spark with the intensity and sharpness of an eagle. This made Hou slightly surprised.
Alexandre Ankh: I may not be able to do it on the last turn. But allow me to show what a real one-turn victory looks like. DRAW...CHARGE...AND...DRAW!!!!
Garga: {surprised} What power he has...
Alexandre Ankh: I cast, Elixir of Aesculapius. (Ability) Increasing my gauge & life by 1. And now, it's showtime (holds out two cards). Come Forth.
The two cards are thrown up high. Suddenly, red flames and blue ice arise and wrap around them, which everyone but the President (who's in smiles) watches in shock.
Alexandre Ankh: O Mighty Gods who watched over Ankh Kingdom since its birth. I beg of thee, heed my cry and transform before my sight. I summon... Freeza Horus!!! Magma Horus!!!
With that statement made, the two dragons glow bright and transform into their true selves!!! One represents a flame deity with red crystals on its knees, Egyptian red clothing, horns, armaments, and flaming white wings. Another represents an Ice deity with blue crystals on its knees, Egyptian blue clothing, horns, armaments, and cold Icy Wings. Everyone's surprised once again.
Hou: Whoa!!! What are they!!!
Garga: It's them.
Hou: Huh?
Garga: The legendary Egyptian Dragon Gods of fire and ice. I read about them back in Dragon World. And let's just say, you don't want to mess around.
Hou: Wait, you said gods. Meaning...
Alexandre Ankh: Yes.
Hou: Huh?
Alexandre Ankh: Like your buddy here, they are also Dragods. They are Ankh Kingdom's greatest pride and protection. And best of all...(Eyes Wide, Open) They're also my buddies!!!
Hou: WAIT. WHAT?
Alexandre Ankh: Yes!!! I have not one...BUT TWO BUDDIES AT MY DISPOSAL. When I buddycall Freeza Horus, I also buddycall Magma Horus from my hand and gain 2 life!!!
Alexandre Ankh's Life: 3 -> 5
Everyone's shocked.
Ion: TWO BUDDIES AND A DOUBLE BUDDYGIFT??? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Masato: I've never seen anyone with two buddies before...
Daryl: This is hysterical.
Magma Horus: Greetings, O Deity of Combat.
Freeza Horus: We meet at last.
Garga: {stern} You know of me?
Magma Horus: Of course. You're work of sealing away the infamous Lost World...
Freeza Horus: Even when you achieved your godhood status, you are amongst us legends.
Magma Horus: But be warned. For we are not to be trifled with.
Freeza Horus: So get ready. For we shall soon bid you adieu.
Alexandre Ankh: With Freeza Horus, they cannot be destroyed or returned to the hand. And with Magma Horus, I destroy two of the opponent's cards and draw two from my deck.
The two dragons glow their eyes and destroy Garga and Garbird with waves of fire and Ice from below as they yell.
Hou: GARGA!!! GARBIRD!!!
Alexandre Ankh: Impressive, aren't they? And that's not all, Magma Horus enables all size 1 dragods to gain triple attack.
Hou: {shocked} WHAT???
Alexandre Ankh: And further, I call to the center. Warrior of Zeal, Terias.
Terias: (Appears) I'm here to serve you, My King.
Hou: 7 attacks in total. But I'm not going down without a fight!!!
Alexandre Ankh: We'll see. Terias. Attack thy enemy over there.
Terias: As you wish. (Attacks)
Hou's Life: 16 -> 14
Alexandre Ankh: Freeza Horus, do my bidding and attack him as well.
Freeza Horus: As you wish. (Attacks)
Alexandre Ankh: And get this, Terias enables 1 damage to you when a Dragod on the right and left attacks.
Hou's Life: 14 -> 13
Freeza Horus: (Summons sharp icicles) Freezing Bringer!!! (shoots icicles)
Hou: I cast. White Dragon Shield. (Blocks) And I cast, Dragon Spell, Hiding Bomber. I destroy Terias.
Terias was suddenly hit with an explosion from behind.
Terias: I...failed. (Destroyed)
Daryl: Clever Hou. He destroyed Terias so that he won't take additional damage.
Freeza Horus: Such persistence. (Shoots)
Hou's Life: 13 -> 11
Freeza Horus flies forward and hits.
Hou's Life: 11 -> 9
Alexandre Ankh: Magma Horus. Burn thy enemy alive.
Magma Horus: As you wish. Magma Slayer!!! (Breeds fire)
Hou is engulfed by Magma's flames as he blocks the attack with his arms.
Hou's Life: 9 -> 7
Magma Horus continues to burn him down until he reaches 3 life. The young prince chuckles.
Alexandre Ankh: I'm not done. Activate Scepter of Mathaf's effect. I rest it, and Freeza Horus stands once more.
The scepter glows, and Freeza Horus arises once more. Making everyone shocked.
Daryl: It can stand back up???
Alexandre Ankh: And I cast, Allegiant Shield. I can also stand Magma Horus back up as well.
Magma Horus also arises again. And now the two Egyptian gods are standing side by side together in front of a standing Hou as he looks at them sternly and worried. The two dragons glance at him fiercely with their eyes glowing red and blue.
Alexandre Ankh: Fare thee well, Ace of Games. You truly are an opponent.
The two dragons attack once again and create a glowing, swirling attack of fire and Ice. As the attack flies at him, Hou, completely unfazed, has his eyes blocked by Shadow.
Hou: I cast. Fire Dragon Shield!!! (Reduce Damage)
Alexandre Ankh, Magma Horus, Freeza Horus: WHAT?
As the crowd cheers.
Gwen: He's still standing!!!
Masato: For Share!!!
Hou: I got plenty to spare.
Alexandre Ankh: {impressed} Not bad. In that case, I might as well use this on you. FINAL PHASE.
Hou: Huh?
Alexandre Ankh: I cast...-Forbidden Light of Double Deity- Aktar Pheido!!!
The two dragons suddenly glow bright gold.
Alexandre Ankh: For every Dragod on my side of the board, I deal 2 damage to the opponent, and it cannot be stopped!!! In other words, 4!!!
The two dragons fly up and create their legendary Ankh Symbol!!! The young prince uses his Scepter and powers up the symbol with gold lightning as it glows brighter and brighter, and it creates a ball of gold energy.
Alexandre Ankh: Impact....Aktar Pheido!!!
The energy bursts forth and charges at the opponent. All Hou can do is watch in despair as the energy becomes bigger and bursts through him as he yells aloud. His flag is out.
Ion: Game end. Winner. Prince Alexandre Ankh.
The young prince's hands are placed beside his waist as he stands and smiles proudly and lets out a confident "Hmm.". The crowd cheers some more.
Ion: Unbelievable. The Ace of Legend pummeled the Ace of Games like a season pro. I have never seen a fight like this. That was really exhilarating.
Masato: Aww man...He lost...
Gwen: It's still a great fight, though, in my opinion.
Daryl: Yes...he fought well.
As for Hou, who's currently sitting down, he is in shock after what happened.
Hou: So that's...the Ace of Legend, huh...(sigh, smiles) Well, what can I do? I lost, and that's that.
Garga: (comes out of his card) But now that we lost...you know what that means. You can't enter World Buddy Academia.
Hou: (nods) Mmm...(stands up) I'll go pack my things.
Kei: Hold On.
Hou: Huh?
Kei: (walks in) I don't think you should leave just yet. You should stay and see what happens next.
Hou & Garga: Huh?
Hou: But...didn't I lose? Doesn't that mean I'm disqualified?
Kei: True, but I insist that you stay until evening. Trust me. Things are going to get interesting later.
Garga & Hou and even the young prince are really confused.
All of a sudden, a black screen appears and shows the word "Evening..." And thus, the sun is nearly setting, and everyone has gathered together in the courtyard once again. Kei once again takes the stage.
Kei: Okay, that's the end of today's entrance exam. And the ones who are entering are...(hands at screen) them.
A screen displays 94 participants who got accepted, including Prince Alexandre Ankh, Daryl, Masato, Gwen, and Light.
Kei: Congrats to those who got accepted, however...as we can see, there are only 94 participants revealed. Therefore, 6 spots need to be filled. And before I move on to the lottery, I would like to say that one participant has earned an exception.
Hearing this, everyone wonders who, as they whisper among each other.
Kei: Let's just say he's really lucky. And despite losing, he put up a good fight. I'm sure you all know who that person is. Isn't that right, Mr Teng Hou Ren?
Hearing this, Hou and Garga are shocked, and everyone starts cheering again.
Hou: Wait, what???
Garga: What's going on???
Masato: Go on, Hou. Walk to the stage.
Daryl: Everyone's waiting. Come On.
Hou: Uh... Okay, I guess. (Walks away)
The curious and confused Hou then walks up to the stage and stands before the president himself.
Hou: I really got in???
Kei: Indeed. You may have lost, but you fought bravely today. And bonus, you're the only one who scored 5 points while the remaining ones scored 4 and below.
Hou: {surprised} Wait, what?
Masato: {surprised} That is lucky
Daryl: {surprised} Unreal...
Kei: So once again, Congratulations. And I'll see you in class.
With that said, everyone cheers for him, and the young ace scratches the back of his head while blushing with joy. However, it seems that not everyone is pleased. The young prince, who's watching from afar, is really angry as he clenches his fist. His servants behind him, however, attempt to calm him down.
Alexandre Ankh: That doofus got in? How is that possible? Tch, fine...I might as well crush him again sooner or later. Just you wait...
As Hou walks down the stage, he meets up with his friends.
Masato: Dude, I swear, your luck is something else.
Daryl: I agree. You're quite special, you know.
Hou: {blushes} (scratch his head) Stop it, guys. Though then again, did he knew this would happen, so he asked me to stay?
Garga: Perhaps...he's kind of mysterious, isn't he?
Hou: True. But we got in. So congrats to all of us, guys.
Masato: You said it.
Agito: Cool as a cucumber.
Gwen: That's the Ace of games for you.
Everyone else laughs too, and then Hou becomes psyched.
Hou: Okay, World Buddy Academia, get ready. And nothing's gonna stand in our way.
Everyone: (raise arms) Yeah!!!
