Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: Too Abundant

Cirrus had completely lost its will to fight and was quickly sealed by Hanya, who had arrived as reinforcements, using a secret art of the Ten-Lords Commission.

Even at the moment of being sealed, it was still lost in deep self-doubt.

"Mountains will crumble, seas will dry up, and even the stars will one day be extinguished, but... that woman, can she truly die?"

It recalled the sheer life force emanating from Felicity and suspected that it would probably die of old age long before Felicity ceased to exist in the universe.

Guinaifen was found by the Wraith Wardens near an entrance to Fyxestroll Garden. When discovered, she was still sound asleep. Out of concern for her, Hanya had someone send her to a nearby medical center.

Although Xueyi's puppet body had been repaired, the mental fatigue was unavoidable. She had been working at high intensity for far too long and had no choice but to hand over the task of maintaining order at the scene to Hanya.

With Hanya managing the scene, the heavy responsibility of liaising with Jing Yuan naturally fell to Huohuo. The timid Foxian girl had never seen such a situation, and her legs trembled as she stood beside Jing Yuan and Felicity.

Jing Yuan stood before Felicity. Though apologetic, he still had to remain vigilant. The current Felicity was too strong—so powerful that if she decided to cause trouble, the Luofu would inevitably be littered with corpses.

Herta stood with her arms crossed and a cold expression, not giving Jing Yuan a shred of courtesy.

Bailu's large tail swished restlessly behind her. She hugged Felicity's arm tightly, not even sure what had happened. All that mattered was that Big Sis Felicity was mostly unharmed.

The scene instantly devolved into a standoff between three Emanators and a Vidyadhara High-Elder. An awkward silence filled the space, and Huohuo felt as if she were suffocating.

"Mr. Tail... please help me think of something..."

The little girl was so anxious she was on the verge of tears.

Tail: ...

What could it do? It was just a tail.

"I should probably say something first."

In the end, it was Felicity who couldn't bear the silence any longer. She rubbed her temples and couldn't help but sigh.

"I'm very sorry," Jing Yuan apologized without hesitation, though he didn't think his apology would earn Felicity's forgiveness. After all, he had well and truly backstabbed her.

"No, it's nothing."

Felicity pressed a hand to her forehead. She could tell Jing Yuan held no ill will toward her. If the Luofu's general had truly wanted her dead, he would have made his move back when Phantylia had crippled her.

Besides, even if Jing Yuan did want to kill her, she would just stand here and let him try. If he actually succeeded, she'd have to present him with an award.

Although she didn't know why Jing Yuan had suddenly struck her, it had let her perceive just how strong she was now... It seemed dying had become even harder.

Damn it.

"You..."

Jing Yuan was stunned. He looked at Felicity in disbelief, finding it hard to imagine that someone could be so tolerant that even a sudden backstabbing was considered unimportant in their eyes.

This... this was the very picture of Abundance.

Jing Yuan had never met someone who so steadfastly practiced the ways of the Abundance. It would be one thing if it were all just talk, but the woman before him had genuinely taken a full-powered blow from a Lord Ravager for him, then taken a strike from the Lightning Lord, and could still forgive him.

"You! Can't you care about yourself just a little bit!?"

Now it was Herta's turn to be displeased. She scowled at Felicity, losing her composure for a rare moment.

"I care about myself a lot!" Felicity retorted indignantly. She was wholeheartedly seeking death; wasn't that a form of caring for herself?

As if a thought struck her, a strange smile appeared on her face. She sidled right up to Herta, then suddenly bent down and wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Are you worried about me?"

"I just don't want my experiment subject to die so easily at someone else's hands. It would make me look useless."

"Hah, what a tsundere."

"Get lost."

Herta snorted coldly and turned her head away.

Felicity let out a chuckle. Having finished teasing Herta, she turned her gaze back to Jing Yuan, her expression becoming serious.

"So, is there anything else you wish to say, General?"

"Yes, of course. The Lightning Lord's sudden attack on you was my mistake, and I am deeply sorry for it. Words are not enough, so the Xianzhou will certainly express its sincerity through actions," Jing Yuan apologized earnestly.

The Luofu could not afford to be under the watch of another Emanator; one Lord Ravager was already enough of a headache for him. What's more, Felicity couldn't be considered just a single Emanator. The genius next to her, despite her sharp tongue, would most likely be drawn into the fray if Felicity were provoked.

"Regarding the report from the Ten-Lords Commission, I hope to conceal Miss Felicity's existence, or at least her identity."

Jing Yuan's gaze fell upon Huohuo. He softened his tone, speaking to her in a slow, measured voice.

"O-Okay."

Huohuo held up her little flag as if ready to surrender at any moment, nodding her head cautiously.

"If you have any other requests, feel free to speak with me or Lady Fu. The Luofu will do everything in its power to fulfill them."

Jing Yuan's gaze returned to Felicity.

"Alright."

Felicity nodded. She glanced at Bailu, who was still nestled beside her, and considered what the probability of success would be if she proposed whisking Bailu away.

Bailu sounded quite important to the Luofu. The probability was likely zero.

Felicity rubbed her temples.

"Boring."

Herta had completely lost interest. She grabbed Felicity's hand, her tone returning to its usual calm.

"I'm going back."

In truth, she could have just logged off and returned to the Herta Space Station to do her own thing. She just didn't trust that Felicity could get this puppet back to the train in one piece. If it was accidentally lost or broken, Felicity would probably pester her for a new one, and that would be an incredible pain.

"Since that's the case, I won't disturb you any longer. I'll take my leave."

Jing Yuan cupped his fist, flicked his sleeve, and departed.

He wanted to get closer to Felicity, but that would probably just provoke Herta again. *Sigh*, maybe he should just pass the General's seat to Fu Xuan and let her deal with it.

Jing Yuan sighed as he walked away, yet he couldn't help but feel fortunate that the one who had set foot on the Luofu was an Emanator of Abundance who truly walked its Path.

The Ambrosial Arbor's revival was an omen, but did the arrival of an Emanator of Abundance like Felicity herald a new hope?

Jing Yuan didn't know, nor did he want to think about it. He decided to leave these troublesome matters to his future self—or, if he was lucky, to the next General.

He was an absolute genius.
