Li Yue was currently sitting in a room with several young men and women. These were the mutant squad recruited by Charles and Erik, the same people as in the movie, except now Li Yue was also present.
After Charles and Erik gathered them, they left to attend to other matters...
"Hey, since we'll be fighting side by side from now on, I think everyone should pick a codename and introduce their abilities," Mystique suggested.
"I want to be called Mystique!" she declared, being the first to announce her chosen nickname.
"Hey, I wanted to be called Mystique too! I can't believe you beat me to it," said the long-haired young man. Li Yue remembered him; he could emit ultrasonic waves and later use the recoil to glide.
"You tell me who should be called Mystique," Mystique said, instantly using her ability. Her skin transformed at a visible rate into the long-haired young man's appearance, even mimicking his voice perfectly.
"Cool!"
All the young men and women were stunned by Mystique's display, letting out exclamations of surprise.
"Darwin, what about you? What do you want to be called?" Mystique asked the Black driver sitting next to Li Yue.
"I think Darwin is my codename, because it's about survival of the fittest, just like me."
After speaking, the Black driver stood up and walked to a fish tank. He submerged his head in the water, and as he did, gill-like structures grew on both sides of his face.
Everyone on the sofa applauded. The Black driver finished his demonstration and sat back down next to Li Yue.
"My turn, my turn! Everyone better cover their ears!" The long-haired young man stood up, eager to show off his ability.
He half-crouched, facing a cup on the table. Just as others thought he would demonstrate his ability on the cup, he aimed at the window glass and activated his superpower. The glass shattered instantly from his ultrasonic waves.
This caused a series of exclamations from the young men and women. Li Yue felt a little helpless; this guy loved to show off too much.
"I want to be called Angel, because..." At this moment, the woman next to Li Yue also stood up. Before coming here, she was a prostitute, and later she joined the villain's side.
She turned her back to everyone and took off her outer garment, revealing something like a tattoo on her back. Suddenly, her tattoo seemed to come alive, transforming into a pair of transparent insect wings that vibrated rapidly. She then lifted off the ground and flew.
"You can fly! That's so cool."
"And this!" She then spat a thick glob of phlegm out through the shattered window, landing on the head of a statue outside, where it ignited.
Li Yue watched her ability and couldn't help but think, 'Even if your ability can't kill people, it can certainly disgust them to death.'
"Hey, Li Yue, what's your ability?" Mystique suddenly asked Li Yue.
"My ability is like this!"
Li Yue placed his hand directly on the Black driver next to him, then instantly disappeared with him.
"What's going on? Where are they? They're gone!" The people in the room exclaimed in surprise.
"We're here!" The Black driver felt the scene before his eyes change, and he was suddenly outside. Seeing the people inside searching for them, he called out to them.
At that moment, Li Yue felt something different about his ability when he activated it. In the instant of transmission, he seemed to return to that unknown starry sky. A large hand formed of blue energy had appeared on the central sphere at some point and directly grabbed towards the second brighter light spot. It seemed to have caught something, then retracted its hand. The blue hand also disappeared, and everything returned to its previous state.
Li Yue's thoughts returned to his body, and he felt a change in himself.
He no longer cared about playing with these immature kids.
Li Yue directly brought the Black driver back to their original spots in the room. He sat down and quietly sensed the changes in his body.
"Wow, Li Yue, your ability is really cool. How did you do that? Is it teleportation?"
"I think Li Yue should be called Hypersonic," the long-haired young man said. Li Yue couldn't help but inwardly grumble, 'I'm not the Flash.'
"Li Yue isn't fast; I think he should be called Flicker," Mystique added. This title was acceptable.
"Li Yue, which one do you want to be called? You choose," Mystique asked for Li Yue's opinion.
"I don't choose either. You can call me Transporter. Also, I'm feeling a bit unwell, so I'm going back to my room first." Li Yue stood up and walked towards his room. He felt that he couldn't calm down and properly experience the changes in his body while with these people.
"Please, Li Yue, stay."
Li Yue ignored their pleas and walked back to his room without hesitation.
"Alex, it's your turn..."
...Back in his room, Li Yue carefully sensed the changes in his body, feeling as if something extra had appeared in every cell. Could it be?
Li Yue picked up the fruit knife on the table and aimed it at his arm. Just as the blade was about to touch his skin, Li Yue's powerful mental force felt a command inexplicably emanate from his mind. His hand rapidly transformed into a rock-like substance. The fruit knife struck it with a "clink," but caused no harm to Li Yue's hand.
"Sure enough, I have Darwin's ability," Li Yue concluded after seeing his body's reaction.
However, Li Yue felt a mix of gain and loss. He had finally gained another ability, but it was copied from the Black driver who would soon be eliminated. If only he had copied Professor X's telepathy or Magneto's ability.
At the very least, copying Mystique, or even Alex's hula hoop ability, would have been fine. Li Yue, who had only watched the movie, felt that this 'survival of the fittest' ability was a bit weak. Otherwise, how could that Black man not even withstand a single energy ball from Shaw, shattering into nothing?
A dejected Li Yue silently made a decision in his heart: he would definitely experiment with Magneto later to see if he could copy abilities again... Meanwhile, downstairs, the young men and women were already having a blast, letting loose and freely displaying their abilities.
However, Charles, Magneto, and the CIA female agent, who had been out on business, happened to return. They immediately saw the group of young men and women immersed in their self-indulgence.
"What are you doing?!" The female agent used a "lion's roar," interrupting the young people who were letting loose, startling them into standing still, unsure of what to do.
"Who did the statue?" the female agent continued to ask.
"It was Alex!" Beast mercilessly betrayed the person who had often taunted him with words.
"You people are truly lawless!"
"We think we should have our own codenames. Charles, you're Professor X, and Erik, you're Magneto." Mystique was not intimidated by the female agent. She pointed to her group, introduced their respective codenames, and then gave Charles and Erik their codenames.
"I think that's not bad!" This was Erik speaking.
Suddenly, a figure abruptly appeared next to Erik, startling him so much that he almost threw a punch.
It was Li Yue, who had heard the commotion upstairs. He eagerly used his ability to appear next to Erik, directly touching him and making them both vanish from their original spot.
After appearing some distance away, Li Yue carefully sensed, but did not feel the same sensation as that previous time. He couldn't help but feel a little regretful, realizing he couldn't copy again. However, Li Yue did not show his disappointment outwardly. Instead, he immediately brought Erik back to their original spot.
Erik, having recovered, couldn't help but look at Li Yue with new respect. He highly valued Li Yue's ability.
"He's Li Yue, codenamed Transporter. What he just demonstrated is his ability." Mystique, seeing Charles and Erik's confusion, then introduced Li Yue's ability.
