Several army green trucks drove over and stopped inside the cordon.
A team of soldiers jumped off the trucks and, under the direction of an officer, began cautiously harvesting the thriving vegetables in the field.
The tomatoes were as red as jewels, and the cucumbers were green enough to drip water.
Each plant looked as if it had been painted.
