At the end of the day, Summer packed up her belongings, preparing to leave. Just then, a small figure rushed toward her desk. She froze in surprise when she saw who it was.
"Noel?" Summer broke into a smile. "You—who brought you here?"
"I asked the driver to bring him," Gideon said, his voice coming from nearby as he walked over. "We didn't get to have dinner yesterday, so I thought I'd take you out tonight."
"That's really not necessary," Summer replied.
"I insist," Gideon said firmly. "Noel will be happy."
Summer glanced down at Noel and met his eager, hopeful gaze. She couldn't bring herself to refuse. After a brief pause, she nodded. "Alright. Let's go."
Gideon smiled in satisfaction and led them out of the office.
Noel slipped his hand into Summer's, making her look down at him. "Thank you," he said softly.
She chuckled. "You are this happy just because I'm coming along?"
