Summer arrived at the café. She looked around – there was no sign of Landon.
'Maybe he is still busy with his work,' she told herself.
She chose a small table near the window and sat down. Raising her hand, she caught a waiter's attention.
"One latte please," she said.
"Sure, Ma'am." The waiter noted it down. "Would you like something to eat as well?"
Summer slightly shook her head. "That's all."
The waiter offered her a polite smile. "Your coffee will be right up." He walked away.
A few minutes later, the cup was placed in front of her. Summer took a sip, her gaze drifting back to the entrance. Landon had not arrived yet.
Thinking he'd arrive any moment, she continued drinking.
The minutes stretched thin.
Summer grew slightly impatient. Her coffee was finished already. But Landon had not shown up yet.
'Why is he taking so long?' she thought.
Landon was always punctual. This delay was unexpected, and it unsettled her.
'I hope everything is fine.'
