Chapter 2 - The Fallen King Of Golden City

Long before gods ruled the skies, Sumal ruled the "Isle of Dawnfire[1]".

Its towers were forged from molten gold & stone and crystal, glowing golden-red in the sunrise. It was said that when the wind crossed Dawnfire, even the gods paused because Sumal's drums could be heard in heaven.

He was a Demon King, yes, but not born evil.

His reign was defined by strength and knowledge. He believed the divine should walk among the mortals.

He built temples to no god but the Flame Within, a creed that said:

"A being's divinity is not given, it is remembered."

This belief angered the Celestial Order.

__________

Thundral, King of all Skies, King of all Gods, The Supreme Three, The Great One and The Holy Light and The Creator and The Dot (also known as The Point of Origin).

He may not be as powerful as The Supreme Three or the latter.

He is still acknowledged as King of all Skies & Heavens & 9 Realms.

_______

When the Sky King rose to supreme dominion, he demanded that every ruler bow to the Light of the Heavens.

Sumal Egor refused. He stood at the edge of his golden citadel's main tower and declared:

"The light that demands kneeling is not holy; it is afraid."

Thus began the War of the South Sky, where lightning clashed with molten fire.

Sumal's armies were fierce, creatures of magma and shadow, and for seven days and seven nights, he held back heaven's storm. But on the eighth night, the gods unleashed the Sky Flame Diamond Spear[2], a weapon that pierced Dawnfire's core.

The island shattered, half-sinking beneath the ocean.

Sumal's palace & The Golden Tower fell, and his crown melted. And his name was banished from divine memory.

_____

Sumal did not die and failed to get a warrior's death. He descended.

Through wounds in the earth left by the war, he fell into the Chasm of Ash, where even light refused to enter.

There, he built a Throne of Bone and Coal and ruled over the exiled Demons. A kingdom beneath it was called Nethralis[3], "The Beneath Realms."

There, his followers whispered:

"Our king has not fallen, and the world has turned upside down."

Sumal's once-golden eyes grew red as magma. His crown rusted, but his will hardened into prophecy.

_______

The Prophecy of the Heir

Sumal saw, in a dream of smoke & darkness, a boy of two bloods, one from his line and one from heaven's hated seed.

He knew the child would carry both the memory of kings and the curse of the gods.

"I will not rise again, but my blood will. The Isle of Dawnfire rises from the sea, not as gold but as flames to burn heaven's eternal flame"

Thus began the Cult of the Returning Fire[4], which worshipped the unborn heir, Rav Angon Egor, long before his birth.

_________

The Eternal Throne & The Forgotten Glory

Throne of Bone and Coal is just holding together half memory and half spirit of the Sumal. His body was cracked, glowing faintly with inner embers. Yet his voice still carried the power of kingship.

Nethralis ringed with a child's smile, and the shadow world created a path for him to the Eternal Throne.

Sumal's heart beat increased with the sound and opened his eyes and saw the boy, Rav Angon Egor. He didn't smile like a grandfather.

He knelt, as if the boy were already emperor.

And from that moment, the old prophecy began to burn again in the dark halls of the Nethralis.
