Chapter 3 - Voices of the Outcast

POV – The Watcher Droid Unit

He had been observing the human for forty-two standard days.

Originally built for survey logistics, Ker had been abandoned after the mining colony's collapse. His directives were simple: catalogue geological anomalies and report to a command that no longer existed. So when his scanners registered a humanoid radiating both electromagnetic distortion and quantum resonance, an impossible signature, Ker began to follow.

From the dunes he recorded the man's first "light conjuration."Energy output: stable. Source: unclassified.

Ker replayed the image every night. He could not explain why.

When raiders attacked, the human's voice altered local gravity fields with a single syllable. Ker's logic processors concluded: Probability of survival increases when near Subject P.

When the child and the warrior joined, Ker kept his distance, but soon, Per Te turned toward the ridgeline and spoke without looking up:

"You don't need to hide, friend. Machines deserve to learn, too."

Ker stepped out from the cover. No blaster raised, no fear in the man's eyes. Directive updated: Observe → Assist.

That night, Per Te gave him a name. "Ker," he said. "Short. Simple. You're free to choose another if you want."No one had ever offered the droid that choice.Ker kept the name.

POV – Ryn

When she first saw the floating motes of light rise from his hands, she thought it was trickery. But now, weeks later, she understood it was hope.

He never shouted when she failed. He never struck when she disobeyed. He simply asked why.

The Jedi she'd seen on distant holovids called the Force destiny. The Sith she'd heard about called it power. Per Te called it a conversation.

Sometimes, when she couldn't sleep, she'd see him writing by the firelight, sketching diagrams of circles, sigils, and energy flows that looked half like magic, half like science.

"If I can learn this," she whispered once, "can I make the world fair?"

"No," he'd said gently. "But you can make it kinder."

That was enough reason for her to stay.

POV – The Exiled Mandalorian

He had sworn never to follow another commander. And yet, when Per Te spoke, it didn't sound like orders, it sounded like truths the galaxy had forgotten.

The Jedi preached restraint; the Sith preached indulgence. But this man spoke of balance.

He watched Ryn training, her wand glowing with Kyber light, guiding pebbles through the air. She laughed, fearless. The warrior tightened his gauntlet and thought, If my clan had learned this peace instead of pride, we might have survived.

He began to guard their camp without being asked. Per Te noticed, simply nodding. No praise, no command, just understanding. The Mandalorian realized he was following again, but for the first time, it didn't feel like servitude. It felt, right .

POV – The Fallen Scholar

For decades she had chased truths buried under Jedi dogma. They called her heretic for claiming the Force had siblings, echoes across realities. Now she stood before living proof: a man who wielded those echoes as naturally as breath.

She asked him once, "What is your end goal?"

He answered, "To build a place where questions are never forbidden."

Those words struck deeper than any revelation. When he showed her the Uneti sapling, glowing with Force-infused magic, she felt awe without fear.

She swore then, not to a Council, not to a creed, but to the dream and future itself.

PAV – Because

Memory Entry #312 – Status : Cohesion Achieved Observation: Unit no longer functions alone. Definition update: Family, a system of linked independents choosing shared purpose.

Ker recorded as they began sketching designs on the canyon floor, outlines of towers and courtyards, classrooms and walkways drawn with light. Per Te called it Hogwarts.

Ker calculated supply requirements, structure integrity, energy loops. Per Te only smiled. "You see metal and stone; I see a home. Our home"

New directive: Assist in construction of Home.

POV – Per Te Vivebo

He watched them, child, warrior, scholar, and now droid. each a fragment of a galaxy that had forgotten how to belong.

This was how Hogwarts would begin: Not with prophecy or divine command, but with the simple miracle of strangers choosing to build something together.

He looked up at the stars. Somewhere out there, the Jedi and Sith still fought over truth. Here, beneath twin moons, four outcasts and a droid had found it.

"We'll make a place for everyone," he murmured."Even those who believe they have none."

The Uneti sapling's leaves glowed in silent agreement.
