The table fell completely silent as everyone took in Evan's questions. No one suprised he would ask that, because he was the kind of guy who din't fear awkward situations and din't pretend. If he wanted to know something, he would just ask.
Vanessa almost collapsed at the awkwardness of the question, while Chris' jaw tightened, not wanting to really know the truth. It was better he din't know what their relationship was, because on one hand, he would be sad she left him for the best friend, the one she always said was just a friend seven years ago when she was his girlfriend. On the other hand, if they weren't dating, it would mean there was still a guy out there, who she left him for. Either way, she left him for someone, whether Ethan or not.
